Malachi: Chapter 1

1The burdenH4853 of the wordH1697 of the LORDH3068 to IsraelH3478 byH3027 MalachiH4401. 2I have lovedH0157 you, saithH5002 the LORDH3068. Yet ye sayH0559, Wherein hast thou lovedH0157 us? Was not EsauH6215 JacobsH3290 brotherH0251? saithH0559 the LORDH3068: yet I lovedH0157 JacobH3290, 3And I hatedH8130 EsauH6215, and laidH7760 his mountainsH2022 and his heritageH5159 wasteH8077 for the dragonsH8568 of the wildernessH4057. 4Whereas EdomH0123 saithH0559, We are impoverishedH7567, but we will returnH7725 and buildH1129 the desolate placesH2723; thus saithH0559 the LORDH3068 of hostsH6635, They shall buildH1129, but I will throw downH2040; and they shall callH7121 them, The borderH1366 of wickednessH7564, and, The peopleH5971 against whom the LORDH3068 hath indignationH2194 forH5704 everH5769. 5And your eyesH5869 shall seeH7200, and ye shall sayH0559, The LORDH3068 will be magnifiedH1431 from the borderH1366 of IsraelH3478.

6A sonH1121 honourethH3513 his fatherH0001, and a servantH5650 his masterH0113: if then I be a fatherH0001, where is mine honourH3519? and if I be a masterH0113, where is my fearH4172? saithH0559 the LORDH3068 of hostsH6635 unto you, O priestsH3548, that despiseH0959 my nameH8034. And ye sayH0559, Wherein have we despisedH0959 thy nameH8034? 7Ye offerH5066 pollutedH1351 breadH3899 upon mine altarH4196; and ye sayH0559, Wherein have we pollutedH1351 thee? In that ye sayH0559, The tableH7979 of the LORDH3068 is contemptibleH0959. 8And if ye offerH5066 the blindH5787 for sacrificeH2076, is it not evilH7451? and if ye offerH5066 the lameH6455 and sickH2470, is it not evilH7451? offerH7126 it now unto thy governorH6346; will he be pleasedH7521 with thee, or acceptH5375 thy personH6440? saithH0559 the LORDH3068 of hostsH6635. 9And now, I pray you, beseechH2470 GodH0410 that he will be graciousH2603 unto us: this hath been by your meansH3027: will he regardH5375 your personsH6440? saithH0559 the LORDH3068 of hostsH6635. 10Who is there even among you that would shutH5462 the doorsH1817 for nought? neither do ye kindleH0215 fire on mine altarH4196 for noughtH2600. I have no pleasureH2656 in you, saithH0559 the LORDH3068 of hostsH6635, neither will I acceptH7521 an offeringH4503 at your handH3027. 11For from the risingH4217 of the sunH8121 even unto the going downH3996 of the same my nameH8034 shall be greatH1419 among the GentilesH1471; and in every placeH4725 incenseH6999 shall be offeredH5066 unto my nameH8034, and a pureH2889 offeringH4503: for my nameH8034 shall be greatH1419 among the heathenH1471, saithH0559 the LORDH3068 of hostsH6635.

12But ye have profanedH2490 it, in that ye sayH0559, The tableH7979 of the LORDH3068 is pollutedH1351; and the fruitH5108 thereof, even his meatH0400, is contemptibleH0959. 13Ye saidH0559 also, Behold, what a wearinessH4972 is it! and ye have snuffedH5301 at it, saithH0559 the LORDH3068 of hostsH6635; and ye broughtH0935 that which was tornH1497, and the lameH6455, and the sickH2470; thus ye broughtH0935 an offeringH4503: should I acceptH7521 this of your handH3027? saithH0559 the LORDH3068. 14But cursedH0779 be the deceiverH5230, whichH3426 hath in his flockH5739 a maleH2145, and vowethH5087, and sacrificethH2076 unto the LordH0136 a corrupt thingH7843: for I am a greatH1419 KingH4428, saithH0559 the LORDH3068 of hostsH6635, and my nameH8034 is dreadfulH3372 among the heathenH1471.

Malachi: Chapter 2

1And now, O ye priestsH3548, this commandmentH4687 is for you. 2If ye will not hearH8085, and if ye will not layH7760 it to heartH3820, to giveH5414 gloryH3519 unto my nameH8034, saithH0559 the LORDH3068 of hostsH6635, I will even sendH7971 a curseH3994 upon you, and I will curseH0779 your blessingsH1293: yea, I have cursedH0779 them already, because ye do not layH7760 it to heartH3820. 3Behold, I will corruptH1605 your seedH2233, and spreadH2219 dungH6569 upon your facesH6440, even the dungH6569 of your solemn feastsH2282; and one shall take you awayH5375 with it. 4And ye shall knowH3045 that I have sentH7971 this commandmentH4687 unto you, that my covenantH1285 might be with LeviH3878, saithH0559 the LORDH3068 of hostsH6635. 5My covenantH1285 was with him of lifeH2416 and peaceH7965; and I gaveH5414 them to him for the fearH4172 wherewith he fearedH3372 me, and was afraidH2865 beforeH6440 my nameH8034. 6The lawH8451 of truthH0571 was in his mouthH6310, and iniquityH5766 was not foundH4672 in his lipsH8193: he walkedH1980 with me in peaceH7965 and equityH4334, and did turnH7725 manyH7227 awayH7725 from iniquityH5771. 7For the priestsH3548 lipsH8193 should keepH8104 knowledgeH1847, and they should seekH1245 the lawH8451 at his mouthH6310: for he is the messengerH4397 of the LORDH3068 of hostsH6635. 8But ye are departedH5493 out of the wayH1870; ye have caused manyH7227 to stumbleH3782 at the lawH8451; ye have corruptedH7843 the covenantH1285 of LeviH3878, saithH0559 the LORDH3068 of hostsH6635. 9Therefore have I also madeH5414 you contemptibleH0959 and baseH8217 before all the peopleH5971, accordingH6310 as ye have not keptH8104 my waysH1870, but have been partialH5375 in the lawH8451.

10Have we not all oneH0259 fatherH0001? hath not oneH0259 GodH0410 createdH1254 us? why do we deal treacherouslyH0898 every manH0376 against his brotherH0251, by profaningH2490 the covenantH1285 of our fathersH0001?

11 JudahH3063 hath dealt treacherouslyH0898, and an abominationH8441 is committedH6213 in IsraelH3478 and in JerusalemH3389; for JudahH3063 hath profanedH2490 the holinessH6944 of the LORDH3068 which he lovedH0157, and hath marriedH1166 the daughterH1323 of a strangeH5236 godH0410. 12The LORDH3068 will cut offH3772 the manH0376 that doethH6213 this, the masterH5782 and the scholarH6030, out of the tabernaclesH0168 of JacobH3290, and him that offerethH5066 an offeringH4503 unto the LORDH3068 of hostsH6635. 13And this have ye doneH6213 againH8145, coveringH3680 the altarH4196 of the LORDH3068 with tearsH1832, with weepingH1065, and with crying outH0603, insomuch that he regardethH6437 not the offeringH4503 any more, or receivethH3947 it with good willH7522 at your handH3027.

14Yet ye sayH0559, WhereforeH4100? Because the LORDH3068 hath been witnessH5749 between thee and the wifeH0802 of thy youthH5271, against whom thou hast dealt treacherouslyH0898: yet is she thy companionH2278, and the wifeH0802 of thy covenantH1285. 15And did not he makeH6213 oneH0259? Yet had he the residueH7605 of the spiritH7307. And wherefore oneH0259? That he might seekH1245 a godlyH0430 seedH2233. Therefore take heedH8104 to your spiritH7307, and let none deal treacherouslyH0898 against the wifeH0802 of his youthH5271. 16For the LORDH3068, the GodH0430 of IsraelH3478, saithH0559 that he hatethH8130 putting awayH7971: for one coverethH3680 violenceH2555 with his garmentH3830, saithH0559 the LORDH3068 of hostsH6635: therefore take heedH8104 to your spiritH7307, that ye deal not treacherouslyH0898.

17Ye have weariedH3021 the LORDH3068 with your wordsH1697. Yet ye sayH0559, Wherein have we weariedH3021 him? When ye sayH0559, Every one that doethH6213 evilH7451 is goodH2896 in the sightH5869 of the LORDH3068, and he delightethH2654 in them; or, Where is the GodH0430 of judgmentH4941?

Malachi: Chapter 3

1Behold, I will sendH7971 my messengerH4397, and he shall prepareH6437 the wayH1870 beforeH6440 me: and the LordH0113, whom ye seekH1245, shall suddenlyH6597 comeH0935 to his templeH1964, even the messengerH4397 of the covenantH1285, whom ye delightH2655 in: behold, he shall comeH0935, saithH0559 the LORDH3068 of hostsH6635. 2But who may abideH3557 the dayH3117 of his comingH0935? and who shall standH5975 when he appearethH7200? for he is like a refinersH6884 fireH0784, and like fullersH3526 soapH1287: 3And he shall sitH3427 as a refinerH6884 and purifierH2891 of silverH3701: and he shall purifyH2891 the sonsH1121 of LeviH3878, and purgeH2212 them as goldH2091 and silverH3701, that they may offerH5066 unto the LORDH3068 an offeringH4503 in righteousnessH6666. 4Then shall the offeringH4503 of JudahH3063 and JerusalemH3389 be pleasantH6149 unto the LORDH3068, as in the daysH3117 of oldH5769, and as in formerH6931 yearsH8141. 5And I will come nearH7126 to you to judgmentH4941; and I will be a swiftH4116 witnessH5707 against the sorcerersH3784, and against the adulterersH5003, and against falseH8267 swearersH7650, and against those that oppressH6231 the hirelingH7916 in his wagesH7939, the widowH0490, and the fatherlessH3490, and that turn asideH5186 the strangerH1616 from his right , and fearH3372 not me, saithH0559 the LORDH3068 of hostsH6635. 6For I am the LORDH3068, I changeH8138 not; therefore ye sonsH1121 of JacobH3290 are not consumedH3615.

7Even from the daysH3117 of your fathersH0001 ye are gone awayH5493 from mine ordinancesH2706, and have not keptH8104 them . ReturnH7725 unto me, and I will returnH7725 unto you, saithH0559 the LORDH3068 of hostsH6635. But ye saidH0559, Wherein shall we returnH7725?

8Will a manH0120 robH6906 GodH0430? Yet ye have robbedH6906 me. But ye sayH0559, Wherein have we robbedH6906 thee? In tithesH4643 and offeringsH8641. 9Ye are cursedH0779 with a curseH3994: for ye have robbedH6906 me, even this whole nationH1471. 10BringH0935 ye all the tithesH4643 into the storehouseH0214, that there may be meatH2964 in mine houseH1004, and proveH0974 me now herewithH2063, saithH0559 the LORDH3068 of hostsH6635, if I will not openH6605 you the windowsH0699 of heavenH8064, and pour you outH7324 a blessingH1293, that there shall not be room enoughH1767 to receive it . 11And I will rebukeH1605 the devourerH0398 for your sakes, and he shall not destroyH7843 the fruitsH6529 of your groundH0127; neither shall your vineH1612 cast her fruitH7921 before the time in the fieldH7704, saithH0559 the LORDH3068 of hostsH6635. 12And all nationsH1471 shall call you blessedH0833: for ye shall be a delightsomeH2656 landH0776, saithH0559 the LORDH3068 of hostsH6635.

13Your wordsH1697 have been stoutH2388 against me, saithH0559 the LORDH3068. Yet ye sayH0559, What have we spokenH1696 so much against thee? 14Ye have saidH0559, It is vainH7723 to serveH5647 GodH0430: and what profitH1215 is it that we have keptH8104 his ordinanceH4931, and that we have walkedH1980 mournfullyH6941 beforeH6440 the LORDH3068 of hostsH6635? 15And now we callH0833 the proudH2086 happyH0833; yea, they that workH6213 wickednessH7564 are set upH1129; yea, they that temptH0974 GodH0430 are even deliveredH4422.

16Then they that fearedH3373 the LORDH3068 spake oftenH1696 oneH0376 to anotherH7453: and the LORDH3068 hearkenedH7181, and heardH8085 it , and a bookH5612 of remembranceH2146 was writtenH3789 beforeH6440 him for them that fearedH3373 the LORDH3068, and that thoughtH2803 upon his nameH8034. 17And they shall be mine, saithH0559 the LORDH3068 of hostsH6635, in that dayH3117 when I make upH6213 my jewelsH5459; and I will spareH2550 them, as a manH0376 sparethH2550 his own sonH1121 that servethH5647 him. 18Then shall ye returnH7725, and discernH7200 between the righteousH6662 and the wickedH7563, between him that servethH5647 GodH0430 and him that servethH5647 him not.

Malachi: Chapter 4

1For, behold, the dayH3117 comethH0935, that shall burnH1197 as an ovenH8574; and all the proudH2086, yea, and all that doH6213 wickedlyH7564, shall be stubbleH7179: and the dayH3117 that comethH0935 shall burn them upH3857, saithH0559 the LORDH3068 of hostsH6635, that it shall leaveH5800 them neither rootH8328 nor branchH6057.

2But unto you that fearH3373 my nameH8034 shall the SunH8121 of righteousnessH6666 ariseH2224 with healingH4832 in his wingsH3671; and ye shall go forthH3318, and grow upH6335 as calvesH5695 of the stallH4770. 3And ye shall tread downH6072 the wickedH7563; for they shall be ashesH0665 under the solesH3709 of your feetH7272 in the dayH3117 that I shall doH6213 this , saithH0559 the LORDH3068 of hostsH6635.

4RememberH2142 ye the lawH8451 of MosesH4872 my servantH5650, which I commandedH6680 unto him in HorebH2722 for all IsraelH3478, with the statutesH2706 and judgmentsH4941.

5Behold, I will sendH7971 you ElijahH0452 the prophetH5030 beforeH6440 the comingH0935 of the greatH1419 and dreadfulH3372 dayH3117 of the LORDH3068: 6And he shall turnH7725 the heartH3820 of the fathersH0001 to the childrenH1121, and the heartH3820 of the childrenH1121 to their fathersH0001, lest I comeH0935 and smiteH5221 the earthH0776 with a curseH2764.
