Zephaniah: Chapter 1
1The wordH1697 of the LORDH3068 which came unto ZephaniahH6846 the sonH1121 of CushiH3570, the sonH1121 of GedaliahH1436, the sonH1121 of AmariahH0568, the sonH1121 of HizkiahH2396, in the daysH3117 of JosiahH2977 the sonH1121 of AmonH0526, kingH4428 of JudahH3063. 2I will utterlyH0622 consumeH5486 all things from off the landH6440, saithH5002 the LORDH3068. 3I will consumeH5486 manH0120 and beastH0929; I will consumeH5486 the fowlsH5775 of the heavenH8064, and the fishesH1709 of the seaH3220, and the stumblingblocksH4384 with the wickedH7563; and I will cut offH3772 manH0120 from offH6440 the landH0127, saithH5002 the LORDH3068. 4I will also stretch outH5186 mine handH3027 upon JudahH3063, and upon all the inhabitantsH3427 of JerusalemH3389; and I will cut offH3772 the remnantH7605 of BaalH1168 from this placeH4725, and the nameH8034 of the ChemarimsH3649 with the priestsH3548; 5And them that worshipH7812 the hostH6635 of heavenH8064 upon the housetopsH1406; and them that worshipH7812 and that swearH7650 by the LORDH3068, and that swearH7650 by MalchamH4428; 6And them that are turned backH5472 fromH0310 the LORDH3068; and those that have not soughtH1245 the LORDH3068, nor enquiredH1875 for him.
7Hold thy peaceH2013 at the presenceH6440 of the LordH0136 GODH3069: for the dayH3117 of the LORDH3068 is at handH7138: for the LORDH3068 hath preparedH3559 a sacrificeH2077, he hath bidH6942 his guestsH7121. 8And it shall come to pass in the dayH3117 of the LORDsH3068 sacrificeH2077, that I will punishH6485 the princesH8269, and the kingsH4428 childrenH1121, and all such as are clothedH3847 with strangeH5237 apparelH4403. 9In the same dayH3117 also will I punishH6485 all those that leapH1801 on the thresholdH4670, which fillH4390 their mastersH0113 housesH1004 with violenceH2555 and deceitH4820. 10And it shall come to pass in that dayH3117, saithH5002 the LORDH3068, that there shall be the noiseH6963 of a cryH6818 from the fishH1709 gateH8179, and an howlingH3215 from the secondH4932, and a greatH1419 crashingH7667 from the hillsH1389. 11HowlH3213, ye inhabitantsH3427 of MakteshH4389, for all the merchantH3667 peopleH5971 are cut downH1820; all they that bearH5187 silverH3701 are cut offH3772. 12And it shall come to pass at that timeH6256, that I will searchH2664 JerusalemH3389 with candlesH5216, and punishH6485 the menH0582 that are settledH7087 on their leesH8105: that sayH0559 in their heartH3824, The LORDH3068 will not do goodH3190, neither will he do evilH7489. 13Therefore their goodsH2428 shall become a bootyH4933, and their housesH1004 a desolationH8077: they shall also buildH1129 housesH1004, but not inhabitH3427 them; and they shall plantH5193 vineyardsH3754, but not drinkH8354 the wineH3196 thereof.

Zephaniah: Chapter 2
1Gather yourselves togetherH7197, yea, gather togetherH7197, O nationH1471 not desiredH3700; 2Before the decreeH2706 bring forthH3205, before the dayH3117 passH5674 as the chaffH4671, beforeH3808 the fierceH2740 angerH0639 of the LORDH3068 comeH0935 upon you, before the dayH3117 of the LORDsH3068 angerH0639 comeH0935 upon you. 3SeekH1245 ye the LORDH3068, all ye meekH6035 of the earthH0776, which have wroughtH6466 his judgmentH4941; seekH1245 righteousnessH6664, seekH1245 meeknessH6038: it may beH0194 ye shall be hidH5641 in the dayH3117 of the LORDsH3068 angerH0639.
4For GazaH5804 shall be forsakenH5800, and AshkelonH0831 a desolationH8077: they shall drive outH1644 AshdodH0795 at the noon dayH6672, and EkronH6138 shall be rooted upH6131. 5WoeH1945 unto the inhabitantsH3427 of the seaH3220 coastH2256, the nationH1471 of the CherethitesH3774! the wordH1697 of the LORDH3068 is against you; O CanaanH3667, the landH0776 of the PhilistinesH6430, I will even destroyH0006 thee, that there shall be no inhabitantH3427. 6And the seaH3220 coastH2256 shall be dwellingsH5116 and cottagesH3741 for shepherdsH7462, and foldsH1448 for flocksH6629. 7And the coastH2256 shall be for the remnantH7611 of the houseH1004 of JudahH3063; they shall feedH7462 thereupon: in the housesH1004 of AshkelonH0831 shall they lie downH7257 in the eveningH6153: for the LORDH3068 their GodH0430 shall visitH6485 them, and turn awayH7725 their captivityH7622.
8I have heardH8085 the reproachH2781 of MoabH4124, and the revilingsH1421 of the childrenH1121 of AmmonH5983, whereby they have reproachedH2778 my peopleH5971, and magnifiedH1431 themselves against their borderH1366. 9Therefore as I liveH2416, saithH5002 the LORDH3068 of hostsH6635, the GodH0430 of IsraelH3478, Surely MoabH4124 shall be as SodomH5467, and the childrenH1121 of AmmonH5983 as GomorrahH6017, even the breedingH4476 of nettlesH2738, and saltpitsH4379, and a perpetualH5704 desolationH8077: the residueH7611 of my peopleH5971 shall spoilH0962 them, and the remnantH3499 of my peopleH1471 shall possessH5157 them. 10This shall they have for their prideH1347, because they have reproachedH2778 and magnifiedH1431 themselves against the peopleH5971 of the LORDH3068 of hostsH6635. 11The LORDH3068 will be terribleH3372 unto them: for he will famishH7329 all the godsH0430 of the earthH0776; and men shall worshipH7812 him, every oneH0376 from his placeH4725, even all the islesH0339 of the heathenH1471.
12Ye EthiopiansH3569 also, yeH1992 shall be slainH2491 by my swordH2719. 13And he will stretch outH5186 his handH3027 against the northH6828, and destroyH0006 AssyriaH0804; and will makeH7760 NinevehH5210 a desolationH8077, and dryH6723 like a wildernessH4057. 14And flocksH5739 shall lie downH7257 in the midstH8432 of her, all the beastsH2416 of the nationsH1471: both the cormorantH6893 and the bitternH7090 shall lodgeH3885 in the upper lintelsH3730 of it; their voiceH6963 shall singH7891 in the windowsH2474; desolationH2721 shall be in the thresholdsH5592: for he shall uncoverH6168 the cedar workH0731. 15This is the rejoicingH5947 cityH5892 that dweltH3427 carelesslyH0983, that saidH0559 in her heartH3824, I am , and there is none besideH0657 me: how is she become a desolationH8047, a place for beastsH2416 to lie down inH4769! every one that passeth byH5674 her shall hissH8319, and wagH5128 his handH3027.

1WoeH1945 to her that is filthyH4754 and pollutedH1351, to the oppressingH3238 cityH5892! 2She obeyedH8085 not the voiceH6963; she receivedH3947 not correctionH4148; she trustedH0982 not in the LORDH3068; she drew not nearH7126 to her GodH0430. 3Her princesH8269 withinH7130 her are roaringH7580 lionsH0738; her judgesH8199 are eveningH6153 wolvesH2061; they gnaw not the bonesH1633 till the morrowH1242. 4Her prophetsH5030 are lightH6348 and treacherousH0900 personsH0582: her priestsH3548 have pollutedH2490 the sanctuaryH6944, they have done violenceH2554 to the lawH8451. 5The justH6662 LORDH3068 is in the midstH7130 thereof; he will not doH6213 iniquityH5766: everyH1242 morningH1242 doth he bringH5414 his judgmentH4941 to lightH0216, he failethH5737 not; but the unjustH5767 knowethH3045 no shameH1322. 6I have cut offH3772 the nationsH1471: their towersH6438 are desolateH8074; I made their streetsH2351 wasteH2717, that none passeth byH5674: their citiesH5892 are destroyedH6658, so that there is no manH0376, that there is none inhabitantH3427. 7I saidH0559, Surely thou wilt fearH3372 me, thou wilt receiveH3947 instructionH4148; so their dwellingH4583 should not be cut offH3772, howsoeverH0834 I punishedH6485 them: butH0403 they rose earlyH7925, and corruptedH7843 all their doingsH5949.
8Therefore waitH2442 ye upon me, saithH5002 the LORDH3068, until the dayH3117 that I rise upH6965 to the preyH5706: for my determinationH4941 is to gatherH0622 the nationsH1471, that I may assembleH6908 the kingdomsH4467, to pourH8210 upon them mine indignationH2195, even all my fierceH2740 angerH0639: for all the earthH0776 shall be devouredH0398 with the fireH0784 of my jealousyH7068. 9For then will I turnH2015 to the peopleH5971 a pureH1305 languageH8193, that they may all callH7121 upon the nameH8034 of the LORDH3068, to serveH5647 him with oneH0259 consentH7926. 10From beyondH5676 the riversH5104 of EthiopiaH3568 my suppliantsH6282, even the daughterH1323 of my dispersedH6327, shall bringH2986 mine offeringH4503. 11In that dayH3117 shalt thou not be ashamedH0954 for all thy doingsH5949, wherein thou hast transgressedH6586 against me: for then I will take awayH5493 out of the midstH7130 of thee them that rejoiceH5947 in thy prideH1346, and thou shalt no moreH3254 be haughtyH1361 because of my holyH6944 mountainH2022. 12I will also leaveH7604 in the midstH7130 of thee an afflictedH6041 and poorH1800 peopleH5971, and they shall trustH2620 in the nameH8034 of the LORDH3068. 13The remnantH7611 of IsraelH3478 shall not doH6213 iniquityH5766, nor speakH1696 liesH3577; neither shall a deceitfulH8649 tongueH3956 be foundH4672 in their mouthH6310: for they shall feedH7462 and lie downH7257, and none shall make them afraidH2729.
14SingH7442, O daughterH1323 of ZionH6726; shoutH7321, O IsraelH3478; be gladH8055 and rejoiceH5937 with all the heartH3820, O daughterH1323 of JerusalemH3389. 15The LORDH3068 hath taken awayH5493 thy judgmentsH4941, he hath cast outH6437 thine enemyH0341: the kingH4428 of IsraelH3478, even the LORDH3068, is in the midstH7130 of thee: thou shalt not seeH7200 evilH7451 any more. 16In that dayH3117 it shall be saidH0559 to JerusalemH3389, FearH3372 thou not: and to ZionH6726, Let not thine handsH3027 be slackH7503. 17The LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 in the midstH7130 of thee is mightyH1368; he will saveH3467, he will rejoiceH7797 over thee with joyH8057; he will restH2790 in his loveH0160, he will joyH1523 over thee with singingH7440. 18I will gatherH0622 them that are sorrowfulH3013 for the solemn assemblyH4150, who are of thee, to whom the reproachH2781 of it was a burdenH4864. 19Behold, at that timeH6256 I will undoH6213 all that afflictH6031 thee: and I will saveH3467 her that haltethH6760, and gatherH6908 her that was driven outH5080; and I will getH7760 them praiseH8416 and fameH8034 in every landH0776 where they have been put to shameH1322. 20At that timeH6256 will I bringH0935 you again , even in the timeH6256 that I gatherH6908 you: for I will makeH5414 you a nameH8034 and a praiseH8416 among all peopleH5971 of the earthH0776, when I turn backH7725 your captivityH7622 before your eyesH5869, saithH0559 the LORDH3068.
