Job: Chapter 1

1There was a manH0376 in the landH0776 of UzH5780, whose nameH8034 was JobH0347; and that manH0376 was perfectH8535 and uprightH3477, and one that fearedH3373 GodH0430, and eschewedH5493 evilH7451. 2And there were bornH3205 unto him sevenH7651 sonsH1121 and threeH7969 daughtersH1323. 3His substanceH4735 also was sevenH7651 thousandH0505 sheepH6629, and threeH7969 thousandH0505 camelsH1581, and fiveH2568 hundredH3967 yokeH6776 of oxenH1241, and fiveH2568 hundredH3967 she assesH0860, and a veryH3966 greatH7227 householdH5657; so that this manH0376 was the greatestH1419 of all the menH1121 of the eastH6924.

4And his sonsH1121 wentH1980 and feastedH4960 in their housesH1004, every oneH0376 his dayH3117; and sentH7971 and calledH7121 for their threeH7969 sistersH0269 to eatH0398 and to drinkH8354 with them. 5And it was so, when the daysH3117 of their feastingH4960 were gone aboutH5362, that JobH0347 sentH7971 and sanctifiedH6942 them, and rose up earlyH7925 in the morningH1242, and offeredH5927 burnt offeringsH5930 according to the numberH4557 of them all: for JobH0347 saidH0559, It may beH0194 that my sonsH1121 have sinnedH2398, and cursedH1288 GodH0430 in their heartsH3824. Thus didH6213 JobH0347 continuallyH3117.

6Now there was a dayH3117 when the sonsH1121 of GodH0430 cameH0935 to presentH3320 themselves before the LORDH3068, and SatanH7854 cameH0935 also amongH8432 them. 7And the LORDH3068 saidH0559 unto SatanH7854, WhenceH0370 comestH0935 thou? Then SatanH7854 answeredH6030 the LORDH3068, and saidH0559, From going to and froH7751 in the earthH0776, and from walking up and downH1980 in it. 8And the LORDH3068 saidH0559 unto SatanH7854, Hast thou consideredH7760 my servantH5650 JobH0347, that there is none like him in the earthH0776, a perfectH8535 and an uprightH3477 manH0376, one that fearethH3373 GodH0430, and eschewethH5493 evilH7451? 9Then SatanH7854 answeredH6030 the LORDH3068, and saidH0559, Doth JobH0347 fearH3372 GodH0430 for noughtH2600? 10Hast not thou made an hedgeH7753 about him, and aboutH1157 his houseH1004, and about all that he hath on every sideH5439? thou hast blessedH1288 the workH4639 of his handsH3027, and his substanceH4735 is increasedH6555 in the landH0776. 11ButH0199 put forthH7971 thine handH3027 now, and touchH5060 all that he hath, and he will curseH1288 thee to thy faceH6440. 12And the LORDH3068 saidH0559 unto SatanH7854, Behold, all that he hath is in thy powerH3027; only upon himself put not forthH7971 thine handH3027. So SatanH7854 went forthH3318 from the presenceH6440 of the LORDH3068.

13And there was a dayH3117 when his sonsH1121 and his daughtersH1323 were eatingH0398 and drinkingH8354 wineH3196 in their eldestH1060 brothersH0251 houseH1004: 14And there cameH0935 a messengerH4397 unto JobH0347, and saidH0559, The oxenH1241 were plowingH2790, and the assesH0860 feedingH7462 besideH3027 them: 15And the SabeansH7614 fellH5307 upon them , and took them awayH3947; yea, they have slainH5221 the servantsH5288 with the edgeH6310 of the swordH2719; and I only am escapedH4422 alone to tellH5046 thee. 16While he was yet speakingH1696, there cameH0935 also another, and saidH0559, The fireH0784 of GodH0430 is fallenH5307 from heavenH8064, and hath burned upH1197 the sheepH6629, and the servantsH5288, and consumedH0398 them; and I only am escapedH4422 alone to tellH5046 thee. 17While he was yet speakingH1696, there cameH0935 also another, and saidH0559, The ChaldeansH3778 made outH7760 threeH7969 bandsH7218, and fellH6584 upon the camelsH1581, and have carried them awayH3947, yea, and slainH5221 the servantsH5288 with the edgeH6310 of the swordH2719; and I only am escapedH4422 alone to tellH5046 thee. 18While he was yet speakingH1696, there cameH0935 also another, and saidH0559, Thy sonsH1121 and thy daughtersH1323 were eatingH0398 and drinkingH8354 wineH3196 in their eldestH1060 brothersH0251 houseH1004: 19And, behold, there cameH0935 a greatH1419 windH7307 fromH5676 the wildernessH4057, and smoteH5060 the fourH0702 cornersH6438 of the houseH1004, and it fellH5307 upon the young menH5288, and they are deadH4191; and I only am escapedH4422 alone to tellH5046 thee.

20Then JobH0347 aroseH6965, and rentH7167 his mantleH4598, and shavedH1494 his headH7218, and fell downH5307 upon the groundH0776, and worshippedH7812, 21And saidH0559, NakedH6174 came I outH3318 of my mothersH0517 wombH0990, and nakedH6174 shall I returnH7725 thither: the LORDH3068 gaveH5414, and the LORDH3068 hath taken awayH3947; blessedH1288 be the nameH8034 of the LORDH3068. 22In all this JobH0347 sinnedH2398 not, nor chargedH5414 GodH0430 foolishlyH8604.

Job: Chapter 2

1Again there was a dayH3117 when the sonsH1121 of GodH0430 cameH0935 to presentH3320 themselves before the LORDH3068, and SatanH7854 cameH0935 also amongH8432 them to presentH3320 himself before the LORDH3068. 2And the LORDH3068 saidH0559 unto SatanH7854, From whenceH0335 comestH0935 thou? And SatanH7854 answeredH6030 the LORDH3068, and saidH0559, From going to and froH7751 in the earthH0776, and from walking up and downH1980 in it. 3And the LORDH3068 saidH0559 unto SatanH7854, Hast thouH7760 consideredH3820 my servantH5650 JobH0347, that there is none like him in the earthH0776, a perfectH8535 and an uprightH3477 manH0376, one that fearethH3373 GodH0430, and eschewethH5493 evilH7451? and still he holdeth fastH2388 his integrityH8538, although thou movedstH5496 me against him, to destroyH1104 him without causeH2600. 4And SatanH7854 answeredH6030 the LORDH3068, and saidH0559, SkinH5785 for skinH5785, yea, all that a manH0376 hath will he giveH5414 for his lifeH5315. 5ButH0199 put forthH7971 thine handH3027 now, and touchH5060 his boneH6106 and his fleshH1320, and he will curseH1288 thee to thy faceH6440. 6And the LORDH3068 saidH0559 unto SatanH7854, Behold, he is in thine handH3027; but saveH8104 his lifeH5315.

7So wentH3318 SatanH7854 forthH3318 from the presenceH6440 of the LORDH3068, and smoteH5221 JobH0347 with soreH7451 boilsH7822 from the soleH3709 of his footH7272 unto his crownH6936. 8And he tookH3947 him a potsherdH2789 to scrapeH1623 himself withal; and he sat downH3427 amongH8432 the ashesH0665.

9Then saidH0559 his wifeH0802 unto him, Dost thou still retainH2388 thine integrityH8538? curseH1288 GodH0430, and dieH4191. 10But he saidH0559 unto her, Thou speakestH1696 as oneH0259 of the foolish womenH5036 speakethH1696. WhatH1571? shall we receiveH6901 goodH2896 at the hand of GodH0430, and shall we not receiveH6901 evilH7451? In all this did not JobH0347 sinH2398 with his lipsH8193.

11Now when JobsH0347 threeH7969 friendsH7453 heardH8085 of all this evilH7451 that was comeH0935 upon him, they cameH0935 every oneH0376 from his own placeH4725; EliphazH0464 the TemaniteH8489, and BildadH1085 the ShuhiteH7747, and ZopharH6691 the NaamathiteH5284: for they had made an appointmentH3259 togetherH3162 to comeH0935 to mournH5110 with him and to comfortH5162 him. 12And when they lifted upH5375 their eyesH5869 afar offH7350, and knewH5234 him not, they lifted upH5375 their voiceH6963, and weptH1058; and they rentH7167 every oneH0376 his mantleH4598, and sprinkledH2236 dustH6083 upon their headsH7218 toward heavenH8064. 13So they sat downH3427 with him upon the groundH0776 sevenH7651 daysH3117 and sevenH7651 nightsH3915, and none spakeH1696 a wordH1697 unto him: for they sawH7200 that his griefH3511 was veryH3966 greatH1431.

Job: Chapter 3

1AfterH0310 this openedH6605 JobH0347 his mouthH6310, and cursedH7043 his dayH3117. 2And JobH0347 spakeH6030, and saidH0559, 3Let the dayH3117 perishH0006 wherein I was bornH3205, and the nightH3915 in which it was saidH0559, There is a man childH1397 conceivedH2029. 4Let that dayH3117 be darknessH2822; let not GodH0433 regardH1875 it from aboveH4605, neither let the lightH5105 shineH3313 upon it. 5Let darknessH2822 and the shadow of deathH6757 stainH1350 it; let a cloudH6053 dwellH7931 upon it; let the blacknessH3650 of the dayH3117 terrifyH1204 it. 6As for that nightH3915, let darknessH0652 seizeH3947 upon it; let it not be joinedH2302 unto the daysH3117 of the yearH8141, let it not comeH0935 into the numberH4557 of the monthsH3391. 7Lo, let that nightH3915 be solitaryH1565, let no joyful voiceH7445 comeH0935 therein. 8Let them curseH5344 it that curseH0779 the dayH3117, who are readyH6264 to raise upH5782 their mourningH3882. 9Let the starsH3556 of the twilightH5399 thereof be darkH2821; let it lookH6960 for lightH0216, but have none; neither let it seeH7200 the dawningH6079 of the dayH7837: 10Because it shut not upH5462 the doorsH1817 of my mothers wombH0990, nor hidH5641 sorrowH5999 from mine eyesH5869.

11Why diedH4191 I not from the wombH7358? why did I not give up the ghostH1478 when I came outH3318 of the bellyH0990? 12Why did the kneesH1290 preventH6923 me? or why the breastsH7699 that I should suckH3243? 13For now should I have lain stillH7901 and been quietH8252, I should have sleptH3462: then had I been at restH5117, 14With kingsH4428 and counsellorsH3289 of the earthH0776, which builtH1129 desolate placesH2723 for themselves; 15Or with princesH8269 that had goldH2091, who filledH4390 their housesH1004 with silverH3701: 16Or as an hiddenH2934 untimely birthH5309 I had not been; as infantsH5768 which never sawH7200 lightH0216. 17There the wickedH7563 ceaseH2308 from troublingH7267; and there the wearyH3019 be at restH5117. 18 There the prisonersH0615 restH7599 togetherH3162; they hearH8085 not the voiceH6963 of the oppressorH5065. 19The smallH6996 and greatH1419 are there; and the servantH5650 is freeH2670 from his masterH0113.

20Wherefore is lightH0216 givenH5414 to him that is in miseryH6001, and lifeH2416 unto the bitterH4751 in soulH5315; 21Which longH2442 for deathH4194, but it cometh not; and digH2658 for it more than for hid treasuresH4301; 22Which rejoiceH8056 exceedinglyH1524, and are gladH7797, when they can findH4672 the graveH6913? 23 Why is light given to a manH1397 whose wayH1870 is hidH5641, and whom GodH0433 hath hedged inH5526? 24For my sighingH0585 comethH0935 beforeH6440 I eatH3899, and my roaringsH7581 are poured outH5413 like the watersH4325. 25For the thing which I greatlyH6343 fearedH6342 is comeH0857 upon me, and that which I was afraidH3025 of is comeH0935 unto me. 26I was not in safetyH7951, neither had I restH8252, neither was I quietH5117; yet troubleH7267 cameH0935.

Job: Chapter 4

1Then EliphazH0464 the TemaniteH8489 answeredH6030 and saidH0559, 2 If we assayH5254 to communeH1697 with thee, wilt thou be grievedH3811? but who canH3201 withholdH6113 himself from speakingH4405? 3Behold, thou hast instructedH3256 manyH7227, and thou hast strengthenedH2388 the weakH7504 handsH3027. 4Thy wordsH4405 have upholdenH6965 him that was fallingH3782, and thou hast strengthenedH0553 the feebleH3766 kneesH1290. 5But now it is comeH0935 upon thee, and thou faintestH3811; it touchethH5060 thee, and thou art troubledH0926. 6 Is not this thy fearH3374, thy confidenceH3690, thy hopeH8615, and the uprightnessH8537 of thy waysH1870?

7RememberH2142, I pray thee, who ever perishedH0006, being innocentH5355? or whereH0375 were the righteousH3477 cut offH3582? 8Even as I have seenH7200, they that plowH2790 iniquityH0205, and sowH2232 wickednessH5999, reapH7114 the same. 9By the blastH5397 of GodH0433 they perishH0006, and by the breathH7307 of his nostrilsH0639 are they consumedH3615. 10The roaringH7581 of the lionH0738, and the voiceH6963 of the fierce lionH7826, and the teethH8127 of the young lionsH3715, are brokenH5421. 11The old lionH3918 perishethH0006 for lackH1097 of preyH2964, and the stout lionsH3833 whelpsH1121 are scattered abroadH6504.

12Now a thingH1697 was secretly broughtH1589 to me, and mine earH0241 receivedH3947 a littleH8102 thereof. 13In thoughtsH5587 from the visionsH2384 of the nightH3915, when deep sleepH8639 fallethH5307 on menH0582, 14FearH6343 cameH7122 upon me, and tremblingH7461, which made allH7230 my bonesH6106 to shakeH6342. 15Then a spiritH7307 passedH2498 before my faceH6440; the hairH8185 of my fleshH1320 stood upH5568: 16It stood stillH5975, but I could not discernH5234 the formH4758 thereof: an imageH8544 was before mine eyesH5869, there was silenceH1827, and I heardH8085 a voiceH6963, saying , 17Shall mortal manH0582 be more justH6663 than GodH0433? shall a manH1397 be more pureH2891 than his makerH6213? 18Behold, he put no trustH0539 in his servantsH5650; and his angelsH4397 he chargedH7760 with follyH8417: 19How much lessH0637 in them that dwellH7931 in housesH1004 of clayH2563, whose foundationH3247 is in the dustH6083, which are crushedH1792 beforeH6440 the mothH6211? 20They are destroyedH3807 from morningH1242 to eveningH6153: they perishH0006 for everH5331 without any regardingH7760 it . 21Doth not their excellencyH3499 which is in them go awayH5265? they dieH4191, even without wisdomH2451.

Job: Chapter 5

1CallH7121 now, if there beH3426 any that will answerH6030 thee; and to which of the saintsH6918 wilt thou turnH6437? 2For wrathH3708 killethH2026 the foolish manH0191, and envyH7068 slayethH4191 the silly oneH6601. 3I have seenH7200 the foolishH0191 taking rootH8327: but suddenlyH6597 I cursedH5344 his habitationH5116. 4His childrenH1121 are farH7368 from safetyH3468, and they are crushedH1792 in the gateH8179, neither is there any to deliverH5337 them . 5Whose harvestH7105 the hungryH7457 eateth upH0398, and takethH3947 it even outH0413 of the thornsH6791, and the robberH6782 swalloweth upH7602 their substanceH2428.

6Although afflictionH0205 cometh not forthH3318 of the dustH6083, neither doth troubleH5999 spring outH6779 of the groundH0127; 7Yet manH0120 is bornH3205 unto troubleH5999, as the sparksH1121 flyH5774 upwardH1361. 8I would seekH0199 unto GodH0410, and unto GodH0430 would I commitH7760 my causeH1700: 9Which doethH6213 great thingsH1419 and unsearchableH0369; marvellous thingsH6381 without numberH4557: 10Who givethH5414 rainH4306 uponH6440 the earthH0776, and sendethH7971 watersH4325 uponH6440 the fieldsH2351: 11To set upH7760 on highH4791 those that be lowH8217; that those which mournH6937 may be exaltedH7682 to safetyH3468. 12He disappointethH6565 the devicesH4284 of the craftyH6175, so that their handsH3027 cannot performH6213 their enterpriseH8454. 13He takethH3920 the wiseH2450 in their own craftinessH6193: and the counselH6098 of the frowardH6617 is carried headlongH4116. 14They meetH6298 with darknessH2822 in the daytimeH3119, and gropeH4959 in the noondayH6672 as in the nightH3915. 15But he savethH3467 the poorH0034 from the swordH2719, from their mouthH6310, and from the handH3027 of the mightyH2389. 16So the poorH1800 hath hopeH8615, and iniquityH5766 stoppethH7092 her mouthH6310.

17Behold, happyH0835 is the manH0582 whom GodH0433 correctethH3198: therefore despiseH3988 not thou the chasteningH4148 of the AlmightyH7706: 18For he maketh soreH3510, and bindeth upH2280: he woundethH4272, and his handsH3027 make wholeH7495. 19He shall deliverH5337 thee in sixH8337 troublesH6869: yea, in sevenH7651 there shall no evilH7451 touchH5060 thee. 20In famineH7458 he shall redeemH6299 thee from deathH4194: and in warH4421 from the powerH3027 of the swordH2719. 21Thou shalt be hidH2244 from the scourgeH7752 of the tongueH3956: neither shalt thou be afraidH3372 of destructionH7701 when it comethH0935. 22At destructionH7701 and famineH3720 thou shalt laughH7832: neither shalt thou be afraidH3372 of the beastsH2416 of the earthH0776. 23For thou shalt be in leagueH1285 with the stonesH0068 of the fieldH7704: and the beastsH2416 of the fieldH7704 shall be at peaceH7999 with thee. 24And thou shalt knowH3045 that thy tabernacleH0168 shall be in peaceH7965; and thou shalt visitH6485 thy habitationH5116, and shalt not sinH2398. 25Thou shalt knowH3045 also that thy seedH2233 shall be greatH7227, and thine offspringH6631 as the grassH6212 of the earthH0776. 26Thou shalt comeH0935 to thy graveH6913 in a full ageH3624, like as a shock of cornH1430 cometh inH5927 in his seasonH6256. 27Lo this, we have searchedH2713 it, so it is; hearH8085 it, and knowH3045 thou it for thy good.

Job: Chapter 6

1But JobH0347 answeredH6030 and saidH0559, 2Oh thatH3863 my griefH3708 were throughlyH8254 weighedH8254, and my calamityH1942 laidH5375 in the balancesH3976 togetherH3162! 3For now it would be heavierH3513 than the sandH2344 of the seaH3220: therefore my wordsH1697 are swallowed upH3886. 4For the arrowsH2671 of the AlmightyH7706 are withinH5978 me, the poisonH2534 whereof drinketh upH8354 my spiritH7307: the terrorsH1161 of GodH0433 do set themselves in arrayH6186 against me. 5Doth the wild assH6501 brayH5101 when he hath grassH1877? or lowethH1600 the oxH7794 over his fodderH1098? 6Can that which is unsavouryH8602 be eatenH0398 without saltH4417? or is thereH3426 any tasteH2940 in the whiteH7388 of an eggH2495? 7The things that my soulH5315 refusedH3985 to touchH5060 are as my sorrowfulH1741 meatH3899.

8Oh that I might haveH0935 my requestH7596; and that GodH0433 would grantH5414 me the thing that I long forH8615! 9Even that it would pleaseH2974 GodH0433 to destroyH1792 me; that he would let looseH5425 his handH3027, and cut me offH1214! 10Then should I yet have comfortH5165; yea, I would hardenH5539 myself in sorrowH2427: let him not spareH2550; for I have not concealedH3582 the wordsH0561 of the Holy OneH6918. 11What is my strengthH3581, that I should hopeH3176? and what is mine endH7093, that I should prolongH0748 my lifeH5315? 12 Is my strengthH3581 the strengthH3581 of stonesH0068? or is my fleshH1320 of brassH5153? 13 Is not my helpH5833 in me? and is wisdomH8454 driven quiteH5080 from me?

14To him that is afflictedH4523 pityH2617 should be shewed from his friendH7453; but he forsakethH5800 the fearH3374 of the AlmightyH7706. 15My brethrenH0251 have dealt deceitfullyH0898 as a brookH5158, and as the streamH0650 of brooksH5158 they pass awayH5674; 16Which are blackishH6937 by reason of the iceH7140, and wherein the snowH7950 is hidH5956: 17What timeH6256 they wax warmH2215, they vanishH6789: when it is hotH2527, they are consumed outH1846 of their placeH4725. 18The pathsH0734 of their wayH1870 are turned asideH3943; they goH5927 to nothingH8414, and perishH0006. 19The troopsH0734 of TemaH8485 lookedH5027, the companiesH1979 of ShebaH7614 waitedH6960 for them. 20They were confoundedH0954 because they had hopedH0982; they cameH0935 thither, and were ashamedH2659. 21For now ye are nothing; ye seeH7200 my casting downH2866, and are afraidH3372.

22Did I sayH0559, BringH3051 unto me? or, Give a rewardH7809 for me of your substanceH3581? 23Or, DeliverH4422 me from the enemysH6862 handH3027? or, RedeemH6299 me from the handH3027 of the mightyH6184? 24TeachH3384 me, and I will hold my tongueH2790: and cause me to understandH0995 wherein I have erredH7686. 25How forcibleH4834 are rightH3476 wordsH0561! but what doth your arguingH3198 reproveH3198? 26Do ye imagineH2803 to reproveH3198 wordsH4405, and the speechesH0561 of one that is desperateH2976, which are as windH7307? 27Yea, ye overwhelmH5307 the fatherlessH3490, and ye digH3738 a pit for your friendH7453. 28Now therefore be contentH2974, lookH6437 upon me; for it is evidentH6440 unto you if I lieH3576. 29ReturnH7725, I pray you, let it not be iniquityH5766; yea, return againH7725, my righteousnessH6664 is in it. 30Is thereH3426 iniquityH5766 in my tongueH3956? cannot my tasteH2441 discernH0995 perverse thingsH1942?

Job: Chapter 7

1 Is there not an appointed timeH6635 to manH0582 upon earthH0776? are not his daysH3117 also like the daysH3117 of an hirelingH7916? 2As a servantH5650 earnestly desirethH7602 the shadowH6738, and as an hirelingH7916 lookethH6960 for the reward of his workH6467: 3So am I made to possessH5157 monthsH3391 of vanityH7723, and wearisomeH5999 nightsH3915 are appointedH4487 to me. 4When I lie downH7901, I sayH0559, When shall I ariseH6965, and the nightH6153 be goneH4059? and I am fullH7646 of tossings to and froH5076 unto the dawning of the dayH5399. 5My fleshH1320 is clothedH3847 with wormsH7415 and clodsH1487 of dustH6083; my skinH5785 is brokenH7280, and become loathsomeH3988. 6My daysH3117 are swifterH7043 than a weavers shuttleH0708, and are spentH3615 withoutH0657 hopeH8615.

7O rememberH2142 that my lifeH2416 is windH7307: mine eyeH5869 shall no moreH7725 seeH7200 goodH2896. 8The eyeH5869 of him that hath seenH7210 me shall seeH7789 me no more: thine eyesH5869 are upon me, and I am not. 9 As the cloudH6051 is consumedH3615 and vanisheth awayH3212: so he that goeth downH3381 to the graveH7585 shall come upH5927 no more . 10He shall returnH7725 no more to his houseH1004, neither shall his placeH4725 knowH5234 him any more. 11Therefore I will not refrainH2820 my mouthH6310; I will speakH1696 in the anguishH6862 of my spiritH7307; I will complainH7878 in the bitternessH4751 of my soulH5315. 12 Am I a seaH3220, or a whaleH8577, that thou settestH7760 a watchH4929 over me? 13When I sayH0559, My bedH6210 shall comfortH5162 me, my couchH4904 shall easeH5375 my complaintH7879; 14Then thou scarestH2865 me with dreamsH2472, and terrifiestH1204 me through visionsH2384: 15So that my soulH5315 choosethH0977 stranglingH4267, and deathH4194 rather than my lifeH6106. 16I loatheH3988 it; I would not liveH2421 alwayH5769: let me aloneH2308; for my daysH3117 are vanityH1892.

17What is manH0582, that thou shouldest magnifyH1431 him? and that thou shouldest setH7896 thine heartH3820 upon him? 18And that thou shouldest visitH6485 him every morningH1242, and tryH0974 him every momentH7281? 19How longH4100 wilt thou not departH8159 from me, nor let me aloneH7503 till I swallow downH1104 my spittleH7536? 20I have sinnedH2398; what shall I doH6466 unto thee, O thou preserverH5341 of menH0120? why hast thou setH7760 me as a markH4645 against thee, so that I am a burdenH4853 to myself? 21And why dost thou not pardonH5375 my transgressionH6588, and take awayH5674 mine iniquityH5771? for now shall I sleepH7901 in the dustH6083; and thou shalt seek me in the morningH7836, but I shall not be .

Job: Chapter 8

1Then answeredH6030 BildadH1085 the ShuhiteH7747, and saidH0559, 2HowH0575 longH5704 wilt thou speakH4448 these things ? and how long shall the wordsH0561 of thy mouthH6310 be like a strongH3524 windH7307? 3Doth GodH0410 pervertH5791 judgmentH4941? or doth the AlmightyH7706 pervertH5791 justiceH6664? 4If thy childrenH1121 have sinnedH2398 against him, and he have cast them awayH7971 forH3027 their transgressionH6588; 5If thou wouldest seekH7836 unto GodH0410 betimesH7836, and make thy supplicationH2603 to the AlmightyH7706; 6If thou wert pureH2134 and uprightH3477; surely now he would awakeH5782 for thee, and make the habitationH5116 of thy righteousnessH6664 prosperousH7999. 7Though thy beginningH7225 was smallH4705, yet thy latter endH0319 should greatlyH3966 increaseH7685.

8For enquireH7592, I pray thee, of the formerH7223 ageH1755, and prepareH3559 thyself to the searchH2714 of their fathersH0001: 9(For we are but of yesterdayH8543, and knowH3045 nothing, because our daysH3117 upon earthH0776 are a shadowH6738:) 10Shall not they teachH3384 thee, and tellH0559 thee, and utterH3318 wordsH4405 out of their heartH3820? 11Can the rushH1573 grow upH1342 without mireH1207? canH7685 the flagH0260 growH7685 withoutH1097 waterH4325? 12Whilst it is yet in his greennessH0003, and not cut downH6998, it witherethH3001 beforeH6440 any other herbH2682. 13So are the pathsH0734 of all that forgetH7911 GodH0410; and the hypocritesH2611 hopeH8615 shall perishH0006: 14Whose hopeH3689 shall be cut offH6990, and whose trustH4009 shall be a spidersH5908 webH1004. 15He shall leanH8172 upon his houseH1004, but it shall not standH5975: he shall holdH2388 it fast, but it shall not endureH6965. 16He is greenH7373 beforeH6440 the sunH8121, and his branchH3127 shooteth forthH3318 in his gardenH1593. 17His rootsH8328 are wrapped aboutH5440 the heapH1530, and seethH2372 the placeH1004 of stonesH0068. 18If he destroyH1104 him from his placeH4725, then it shall denyH3584 him, saying , I have not seenH7200 thee. 19Behold, this is the joyH4885 of his wayH1870, and out of the earthH6083 shall othersH0312 growH6779.

20Behold, GodH0410 will not cast awayH3988 a perfectH8535 man , neither will he helpH2388 the evil doersH7489: 21Till he fillH4390 thy mouthH6310 with laughingH7814, and thy lipsH8193 with rejoicingH8643. 22They that hateH8130 thee shall be clothedH3847 with shameH1322; and the dwellingH0168 place of the wickedH7563 shall come to noughtH0369.

Job: Chapter 9

1Then JobH0347 answeredH6030 and saidH0559, 2I knowH3045 it is so of a truthH0551: but how should manH0582 be justH6663 with GodH0410? 3If he willH2654 contendH7378 with him, he cannot answerH6030 him oneH0259 of a thousandH0505. 4 He is wiseH2450 in heartH3824, and mightyH0533 in strengthH3581: who hath hardenedH7185 himself against him, and hath prosperedH7999? 5Which removethH6275 the mountainsH2022, and they knowH3045 not: which overturnethH2015 them in his angerH0639. 6Which shakethH7264 the earthH0776 out of her placeH4725, and the pillarsH5982 thereof trembleH6426. 7Which commandethH0559 the sunH2775, and it risethH2224 not; and sealeth upH2856 the starsH3556. 8Which alone spreadeth outH5186 the heavensH8064, and treadethH1869 upon the wavesH1116 of the seaH3220. 9Which makethH6213 ArcturusH5906, OrionH3685, and PleiadesH3598, and the chambersH2315 of the southH8486. 10Which doethH6213 great thingsH1419 pastH0369 finding outH2714; yea, and wondersH6381 without numberH4557. 11Lo, he goethH5674 by me, and I seeH7200 him not: he passeth onH2498 also, but I perceiveH0995 him not. 12Behold, he taketh awayH2862, who can hinderH7725 him? who will sayH0559 unto him, What doestH6213 thou? 13 If GodH0433 will not withdrawH7725 his angerH0639, the proudH7293 helpersH5826 do stoopH7817 under him.

14How much less shall I answerH6030 him, and choose outH0977 my wordsH1697 to reason with him? 15Whom, though I were righteousH6663, yet would I not answerH6030, but I would make supplicationH2603 to my judgeH8199. 16If I had calledH7121, and he had answeredH6030 me; yet would I not believeH0539 that he had hearkenedH0238 unto my voiceH6963. 17For he breakethH7779 me with a tempestH8183, and multipliethH7235 my woundsH6482 without causeH2600. 18He will not sufferH5414 me to takeH7725 my breathH7307, but fillethH7646 me with bitternessH4472. 19If I speak of strengthH3581, lo, he is strongH0533: and if of judgmentH4941, who shall setH3259 me a time to plead ? 20If I justifyH6663 myself, mine own mouthH6310 shall condemnH7561 me: if I say , I am perfectH8535, it shall also prove me perverseH6140. 21 Though I were perfectH8535, yet would I not knowH3045 my soulH5315: I would despiseH3988 my lifeH2416.

22This is oneH0259 thing , therefore I saidH0559 it , He destroyethH3615 the perfectH8535 and the wickedH7563. 23If the scourgeH7752 slayH4191 suddenlyH6597, he will laughH3932 at the trialH4531 of the innocentH5355. 24The earthH0776 is givenH5414 into the handH3027 of the wickedH7563: he coverethH3680 the facesH6440 of the judgesH8199 thereof; if not, whereH0645, and who is he?

25Now my daysH3117 are swifterH7043 than a postH7323: they flee awayH1272, they seeH7200 no goodH2896. 26They are passed awayH2498 asH5973 the swiftH0016 shipsH0591: as the eagleH5404 that hastethH2907 to the preyH0400. 27If I sayH0559, I will forgetH7911 my complaintH7879, I will leave offH5800 my heavinessH6440, and comfortH1082 myself: 28I am afraidH3025 of all my sorrowsH6094, I knowH3045 that thou wilt not hold me innocentH5352. 29 If I be wickedH7561, why then labourH3021 I in vainH1892? 30If I washH7364 myself withH7950 snow waterH4325, and make my handsH3709 neverH1252 so cleanH2141; 31YetH0227 shalt thou plungeH2881 me in the ditchH7845, and mine own clothesH8008 shall abhorH8581 me. 32For he is not a manH0376, as I am, that I should answerH6030 him, and we should comeH0935 togetherH3162 in judgmentH4941. 33Neither isH3426 there any daysmanH3198 betwixt us, that might layH7896 his handH3027 upon us bothH8147. 34Let him takeH5493 his rodH7626 awayH5493 from me, and let not his fearH0367 terrifyH1204 me: 35 Then would I speakH1696, and not fearH3372 him; but it is not so with me.

Job: Chapter 10

1My soulH5315 is wearyH5354 of my lifeH2416; I will leaveH5800 my complaintH7879 upon myself; I will speakH1696 in the bitternessH4751 of my soulH5315. 2I will sayH0559 unto GodH0433, Do not condemnH7561 me; shewH3045 me wherefore thou contendestH7378 with me. 3 Is it goodH2895 unto thee that thou shouldest oppressH6231, that thou shouldest despiseH3988 the workH3018 of thine handsH3709, and shineH3313 upon the counselH6098 of the wickedH7563? 4Hast thou eyesH5869 of fleshH1320? or seestH7200 thou as manH0582 seethH7200? 5 Are thy daysH3117 as the daysH3117 of manH0582? are thy yearsH8141 as mansH1397 daysH3117, 6That thou enquirestH1245 after mine iniquityH5771, and searchestH1875 after my sinH2403? 7Thou knowestH1847 that I am not wickedH7561; and there is none that can deliverH5337 out of thine handH3027.

8Thine handsH3027 have madeH6087 me and fashionedH6213 me togetherH3162 round aboutH5439; yet thou dost destroyH1104 me. 9RememberH2142, I beseech thee, that thou hast madeH6213 me as the clayH2563; and wilt thou bringH7725 me into dustH6083 againH7725? 10Hast thou not poured me outH5413 as milkH2461, and curdledH7087 me like cheeseH1385? 11Thou hast clothedH3847 me with skinH5785 and fleshH1320, and hast fencedH7753 me with bonesH6106 and sinewsH1517. 12Thou hast grantedH6213 me lifeH2416 and favourH2617, and thy visitationH6486 hath preservedH8104 my spiritH7307. 13And these things hast thou hidH6845 in thine heartH3824: I knowH3045 that this is with thee.

14If I sinH2398, then thou markestH8104 me, and thou wilt not acquitH5352 me from mine iniquityH5771. 15If I be wickedH7561, woeH0480 unto me; and if I be righteousH6663, yet will I not lift upH5375 my headH7218. I am fullH7649 of confusionH7036; therefore seeH7202 thou mine afflictionH6040; 16For it increasethH1342. Thou huntestH6679 me as a fierce lionH7826: and againH7725 thou shewest thyself marvellousH6381 upon me. 17Thou renewestH2318 thy witnessesH5707 against me, and increasestH7235 thine indignationH3708 upon meH5978; changesH2487 and warH6635 are against me. 18Wherefore then hast thou brought me forthH3318 out of the wombH7358? Oh that I had given up the ghostH1478, and no eyeH5869 had seenH7200 me! 19I should have been as though I had not been; I should have been carriedH2986 from the wombH0990 to the graveH6913. 20 Are not my daysH3117 fewH4592? ceaseH2308 then, and let me aloneH7896, that I may take comfortH1082 a littleH4592, 21Before I goH3212 whence I shall not returnH7725, even to the landH0776 of darknessH2822 and the shadow of deathH6757; 22A landH0776 of darknessH5890, as darknessH0652 itself; and of the shadow of deathH6757, without any orderH5468, and where the lightH3313 is as darknessH0652.

Job: Chapter 11

1Then answeredH6030 ZopharH6691 the NaamathiteH5284, and saidH0559, 2Should not the multitudeH7230 of wordsH1697 be answeredH6030? and should a manH0376 full of talkH8193 be justifiedH6663? 3Should thy liesH0907 makeH2790 menH4962 hold their peaceH2790? and when thou mockestH3932, shall no man make thee ashamedH3637? 4For thou hast saidH0559, My doctrineH3948 is pureH2134, and I am cleanH1249 in thine eyesH5869. 5ButH0199 oh thatH5414 GodH0433 would speakH1696, and openH6605 his lipsH8193 against thee; 6And that he would shewH5046 thee the secretsH8587 of wisdomH2451, that they are doubleH3718 to that which isH8454! KnowH3045 therefore that GodH0433 exactethH5382 of thee less than thine iniquityH5771 deserveth .

7Canst thou by searchingH2714 find outH4672 GodH0433? canst thou findH4672 out the AlmightyH7706 unto perfectionH8503? 8 It is as highH1363 as heavenH8064; what canst thou doH6466? deeperH6013 than hellH7585; what canst thou knowH3045? 9The measureH4055 thereof is longerH0752 than the earthH0776, and broaderH7342 than the seaH3220. 10If he cut offH2498, and shut upH5462, or gather togetherH6950, then who can hinderH7725 him? 11For he knowethH3045 vainH7723 menH4962: he seethH7200 wickednessH0205 also; will he not then considerH0995 it ? 12For vainH5014 manH0376 would be wiseH3823, though manH0120 be bornH3205 like a wild asssH6501 coltH5895.

13If thou prepareH3559 thine heartH3820, and stretchH6566 out thine handsH3709 toward him; 14If iniquityH0205 be in thine handH3027, put it far awayH7368, and let not wickednessH5766 dwellH7931 in thy tabernaclesH0168. 15For then shalt thou lift upH5375 thy faceH6440 without spotH3971; yea, thou shalt be stedfastH3332, and shalt not fearH3372: 16Because thou shalt forgetH7911 thy miseryH5999, and rememberH2142 it as watersH4325 that pass awayH5674: 17And thine ageH2465 shall be clearerH6965 than the noondayH6672; thou shalt shine forthH5774, thou shalt be as the morningH1242. 18And thou shalt be secureH0982, because there isH3426 hopeH8615; yea, thou shalt digH2658 about thee, and thou shalt take thy restH7901 in safetyH0983. 19Also thou shalt lie downH7257, and none shall make thee afraidH2729; yea, manyH7227 shall make suitH2470 unto theeH6440. 20But the eyesH5869 of the wickedH7563 shall failH3615, and they shall not escapeH0006, and their hopeH8615 shall be as the giving upH4646 of the ghostH5315.

Job: Chapter 12

1And JobH0347 answeredH6030 and saidH0559, 2No doubtH0551 but ye are the peopleH5971, and wisdomH2451 shall dieH4191 with you. 3ButH1571 I have understandingH3824 as well as you; I am not inferiorH5307 to you: yea, who knoweth not such thingsH3644 as these? 4I am as one mockedH7814 of his neighbourH7453, who callethH7121 upon GodH0433, and he answerethH6030 him: the justH6662 uprightH8549 man is laughed to scornH7814. 5He that is readyH3559 to slipH4571 with his feetH7272 is as a lampH3940 despisedH0937 in the thoughtH6248 of him that is at easeH7600.

6The tabernaclesH0168 of robbersH7703 prosperH7951, and they that provokeH7264 GodH0410 are secureH0987; into whose handH3027 GodH0433 bringethH0935 abundantly . 7ButH0199 askH7592 now the beastsH0929, and they shall teachH3384 thee; and the fowlsH5775 of the airH8064, and they shall tellH5046 thee: 8Or speakH7878 to the earthH0776, and it shall teachH3384 thee: and the fishesH1709 of the seaH3220 shall declareH5608 unto thee. 9Who knowethH3045 not in all these that the handH3027 of the LORDH3068 hath wroughtH6213 this? 10In whose handH3027 is the soulH5315 of every living thingH2416, and the breathH7307 of all mankindH0376. 11Doth not the earH0241 tryH0974 wordsH4405? and the mouthH2441 tasteH2938 his meatH0400?

12With the ancientH3453 is wisdomH2451; and in lengthH0753 of daysH3117 understandingH8394. 13With him is wisdomH2451 and strengthH1369, he hath counselH6098 and understandingH8394. 14Behold, he breaketh downH2040, and it cannot be built againH1129: he shutteth upH5462 a manH0376, and there can be no openingH6605. 15Behold, he withholdethH6113 the watersH4325, and they dry upH3001: also he sendeth them outH7971, and they overturnH2015 the earthH0776. 16With him is strengthH5797 and wisdomH8454: the deceivedH7683 and the deceiverH7686 are his. 17He leadethH3212 counsellorsH3289 away spoiledH7758, and maketh the judgesH8199 foolsH1984. 18He loosethH6605 the bondH4148 of kingsH4428, and girdethH0631 their loinsH4975 with a girdleH0232. 19He leadethH3212 princesH3548 away spoiledH7758, and overthrowethH5557 the mightyH0386. 20He removeth awayH5493 the speechH8193 of the trustyH0539, and taketh awayH3947 the understandingH2940 of the agedH2205. 21He pourethH8210 contemptH0937 upon princesH5081, and weakenethH7503 the strengthH4206 of the mightyH0650. 22He discoverethH1540 deep thingsH6013 out of darknessH2822, and bringeth outH3318 to lightH0216 the shadow of deathH6757. 23He increasethH7679 the nationsH1471, and destroyethH0006 them: he enlargethH7849 the nationsH1471, and straitenethH5148 them again . 24He taketh awayH5493 the heartH3820 of the chiefH7218 of the peopleH5971 of the earthH0776, and causeth them to wanderH8582 in a wildernessH8414 where there is no wayH1870. 25They gropeH4959 in the darkH2822 without lightH0216, and he maketh them to staggerH8582 like a drunkenH7910 man .

Job: Chapter 13

1Lo, mine eyeH5869 hath seenH7200 all this , mine earH0241 hath heardH8085 and understoodH0995 it. 2What ye knowH1847, the same do I knowH3045 also: I am not inferiorH5307 unto you. 3SurelyH0199 I would speakH1696 to the AlmightyH7706, and I desireH2654 to reasonH3198 with GodH0410. 4ButH0199 ye are forgersH2950 of liesH8267, ye are all physiciansH7495 of no valueH0457. 5O thatH5414 ye would altogetherH2790 hold your peaceH2790! and it should be your wisdomH2451. 6HearH8085 now my reasoningH8433, and hearkenH7181 to the pleadingsH7379 of my lipsH8193. 7Will ye speakH1696 wickedlyH5766 for GodH0410? and talkH1696 deceitfullyH7423 for him? 8Will ye acceptH5375 his personH6440? will ye contendH7378 for GodH0410? 9Is it goodH2895 that he should search you outH2713? or as one manH0582 mockethH2048 another, do ye so mockH2048 him? 10He will surelyH3198 reproveH3198 you, if ye do secretlyH5643 acceptH5375 personsH6440. 11Shall not his excellencyH7613 make you afraidH1204? and his dreadH6343 fallH5307 upon you? 12Your remembrancesH2146 are likeH4912 unto ashesH0665, your bodiesH1354 to bodiesH1354 of clayH2563.

13Hold your peaceH2790, let me alone, that I may speakH1696, and let comeH5674 on me what will . 14Wherefore do I takeH5375 my fleshH1320 in my teethH8127, and putH7760 my lifeH5315 in mine handH3709? 15ThoughH2005 he slayH6991 me, yet will I trustH3176 in him: but I will maintainH3198 mine own waysH1870 beforeH6440 him. 16He also shall be my salvationH3444: for an hypocriteH2611 shall not comeH0935 beforeH6440 him. 17HearH8085 diligentlyH8085 my speechH4405, and my declarationH0262 with your earsH0241. 18Behold now, I have orderedH6186 my causeH4941; I knowH3045 that I shall be justifiedH6663. 19Who is he that will pleadH7378 with me? for now, if I hold my tongueH2790, I shall give up the ghostH1478. 20Only doH6213 not twoH8147 things unto me: then will I not hideH5641 myself from theeH6440. 21WithdrawH7368 thine handH3709 farH7368 from me: and let not thy dreadH0367 make me afraidH1204. 22Then callH7121 thou, and I will answerH6030: or let me speakH1696, and answerH7725 thou me.

23How many are mine iniquitiesH5771 and sinsH2403? make me to knowH3045 my transgressionH6588 and my sinH2403. 24Wherefore hidestH5641 thou thy faceH6440, and holdestH2803 me for thine enemyH0341? 25Wilt thou breakH6206 a leafH5929 driven to and froH5086? and wilt thou pursueH7291 the dryH3002 stubbleH7179? 26For thou writestH3789 bitter thingsH4846 against me, and makest me to possessH3423 the iniquitiesH5771 of my youthH5271. 27Thou puttestH7760 my feetH7272 also in the stocksH5465, and lookest narrowlyH8104 unto all my pathsH0734; thou settest a printH2707 upon the heelsH8328 of my feetH7272. 28And he, as a rotten thingH7538, consumethH1086, as a garmentH0899 that is mothH6211 eatenH0398.

Job: Chapter 14

1ManH0120 that is bornH3205 of a womanH0802 is of fewH7116 daysH3117, and fullH7649 of troubleH7267. 2He cometh forthH3318 like a flowerH6731, and is cut downH5243: he fleethH1272 also as a shadowH6738, and continuethH5975 not. 3And dost thou openH6491 thine eyesH5869 upon such an oneH2088, and bringestH0935 me into judgmentH4941 with thee? 4Who can bringH5414 a cleanH2889 thing out of an uncleanH2931? not oneH0259. 5SeeingH0518 his daysH3117 are determinedH2782, the numberH4557 of his monthsH2320 are with thee, thou hast appointedH6213 his boundsH2706 that he cannot passH5674; 6TurnH8159 from him, that he may restH2308, till he shall accomplishH7521, as an hirelingH7916, his dayH3117.

7For there isH3426 hopeH8615 of a treeH6086, if it be cut downH3772, that it will sprout againH2498, and that the tender branchH3127 thereof will not ceaseH2308. 8Though the rootH8328 thereof wax oldH2204 in the earthH0776, and the stockH1503 thereof dieH4191 in the groundH6083; 9 Yet through the scentH7381 of waterH4325 it will budH6524, and bring forthH6213 boughsH7105 like a plantH5194. 10But manH1397 diethH4191, and wasteth awayH2522: yea, manH0120 giveth up the ghostH1478, and where is he? 11 As the watersH4325 failH0235 from the seaH3220, and the floodH5104 decayethH2717 and drieth upH3001: 12So manH0376 lieth downH7901, and risethH6965 not: till the heavensH8064 be no moreH1115, they shall not awakeH6974, nor be raised outH5782 of their sleepH8142. 13O thatH5414 thou wouldest hideH6845 me in the graveH7585, that thou wouldest keep me secretH5641, until thy wrathH0639 be pastH7725, that thou wouldest appointH7896 me a set timeH2706, and rememberH2142 me! 14If a manH1397 dieH4191, shall he liveH2421 again ? all the daysH3117 of my appointed timeH6635 will I waitH3176, till my changeH2487 comeH0935. 15Thou shalt callH7121, and I will answerH6030 thee: thou wilt have a desireH3700 to the workH4639 of thine handsH3027.

16For now thou numberestH5608 my stepsH6806: dost thou not watchH8104 over my sinH2403? 17My transgressionH6588 is sealed upH2856 in a bagH6872, and thou sewest upH2950 mine iniquityH5771. 18And surelyH0199 the mountainH2022 fallingH5307 cometh to noughtH5034, and the rockH6697 is removedH6275 out of his placeH4725. 19The watersH4325 wearH7833 the stonesH0068: thou washest awayH7857 the things which growH5599 out of the dustH6083 of the earthH0776; and thou destroyestH0006 the hopeH8615 of manH0582. 20Thou prevailestH8630 for everH5331 against him, and he passethH1980: thou changestH8138 his countenanceH6440, and sendest him awayH7971. 21His sonsH1121 come to honourH3513, and he knowethH3045 it not; and they are brought lowH6819, but he perceivethH0995 it not of them. 22But his fleshH1320 upon him shall have painH3510, and his soulH5315 within him shall mournH0056.

Job: Chapter 15

1Then answeredH6030 EliphazH0464 the TemaniteH8489, and saidH0559, 2Should a wise manH2450 utterH6030 vainH7307 knowledgeH1847, and fillH4390 his bellyH0990 with the east windH6921? 3Should he reasonH3198 with unprofitableH5532 talkH1697? or with speechesH4405 wherewith he can do no goodH3276? 4Yea, thou castest offH6565 fearH3374, and restrainestH1639 prayerH7881 beforeH6440 GodH0410. 5For thy mouthH6310 utterethH0502 thine iniquityH5771, and thou choosestH0977 the tongueH3956 of the craftyH6175. 6Thine own mouthH6310 condemnethH7561 thee, and not I: yea, thine own lipsH8193 testifyH6030 against thee. 7 Art thou the firstH7223 manH0120 that was bornH3205? or wast thou madeH2342 beforeH6440 the hillsH1389? 8Hast thou heardH8085 the secretH5475 of GodH0433? and dost thou restrainH1639 wisdomH2451 to thyself? 9What knowestH3045 thou, that we knowH3045 not? what understandestH0995 thou, which is not in us? 10With us are both the grayheadedH7867 and very agedH3453 men, muchH3524 elderH3117 than thy fatherH0001. 11 Are the consolationsH8575 of GodH0410 smallH4592 with thee? is there any secretH0328 thingH1697 with thee? 12Why doth thine heartH3820 carry thee awayH3947? and what do thy eyesH5869 wink atH7335, 13That thou turnestH7725 thy spiritH7307 against GodH0410, and lettest such wordsH4405 go outH3318 of thy mouthH6310? 14What is manH0582, that he should be cleanH2135? and he which is bornH3205 of a womanH0802, that he should be righteousH6663? 15Behold, he putteth no trustH0539 in his saintsH6918; yea, the heavensH8064 are not cleanH2141 in his sightH5869. 16How much more abominableH8581 and filthyH0444 is manH0376, which drinkethH8354 iniquityH5766 like waterH4325?

17I will shewH2331 thee, hearH8085 me; and that which I have seenH2372 I will declareH5608; 18Which wiseH2450 men have toldH5046 from their fathersH0001, and have not hidH3582 it: 19Unto whom alone the earthH0776 was givenH5414, and no strangerH2114 passedH5674 amongH8432 them. 20The wickedH7563 man travailethH2342 with pain all his daysH3117, and the numberH4557 of yearsH8141 is hiddenH6845 to the oppressorH6184. 21A dreadfulH6343 soundH6963 is in his earsH0241: in prosperityH7965 the destroyerH7703 shall comeH0935 upon him. 22He believethH0539 not that he shall returnH7725 out of darknessH2822, and he is waitedH6822 for of the swordH2719. 23He wandereth abroadH5074 for breadH3899, saying , Where is it ? he knowethH3045 that the dayH3117 of darknessH2822 is readyH3559 at his handH3027. 24TroubleH6862 and anguishH4691 shall make him afraidH1204; they shall prevailH8630 against him, as a kingH4428 readyH6264 to the battleH3593. 25For he stretcheth outH5186 his handH3027 against GodH0410, and strengthenethH1396 himself against the AlmightyH7706. 26He runnethH7323 upon him, even on his neckH6677, upon the thickH5672 bossesH1354 of his bucklersH4043: 27Because he coverethH3680 his faceH6440 with his fatnessH2459, and makethH6213 collops of fatH6371 on his flanksH3689. 28And he dwellethH7931 in desolateH3582 citiesH5892, and in housesH1004 which no man inhabitethH3427, which are readyH6257 to become heapsH1530. 29He shall not be richH6238, neither shall his substanceH2428 continueH6965, neither shall he prolongH5186 the perfectionH4512 thereof upon the earthH0776. 30He shall not departH5493 out of darknessH2822; the flameH7957 shall dry upH3001 his branchesH3127, and by the breathH7307 of his mouthH6310 shall he go awayH5493. 31Let not him that is deceivedH8582 trustH0539 in vanityH7723: for vanityH7723 shall be his recompenceH8545. 32It shall be accomplishedH4390 beforeH3808 his timeH3117, and his branchH3712 shall not be greenH7488. 33He shall shake offH2554 his unripe grapeH1154 as the vineH1612, and shall cast offH7993 his flowerH5328 as the oliveH2132. 34For the congregationH5712 of hypocritesH2611 shall be desolateH1565, and fireH0784 shall consumeH0398 the tabernaclesH0168 of briberyH7810. 35They conceiveH2029 mischiefH5999, and bring forthH3205 vanityH0205, and their bellyH0990 preparethH3559 deceitH4820.

Job: Chapter 16

1Then JobH0347 answeredH6030 and saidH0559, 2I have heardH8085 many such thingsH7227: miserableH5999 comfortersH5162 are ye all. 3Shall vainH7307 wordsH1697 have an endH7093? or what emboldenethH4834 thee that thou answerestH6030? 4I also could speakH1696 as ye do: ifH3863 your soulH5315 wereH3426 in my soulsH5315 stead, I could heap upH2266 wordsH4405 against you, and shakeH5128 mine headH7218 atH1119 you. 5 But I would strengthenH0553 you withH1119 my mouthH6310, and the movingH5205 of my lipsH8193 should asswageH2820 your grief .

6Though I speakH1696, my griefH3511 is not asswagedH2820: and though I forbearH2308, what am I easedH1980? 7But now he hath made me wearyH3811: thou hast made desolateH8074 all my companyH5712. 8And thou hast filled me with wrinklesH7059, which is a witnessH5707 against me: and my leannessH3585 rising upH6965 in me beareth witnessH6030 to my faceH6440. 9He tearethH2963 me in his wrathH0639, who hatethH7852 me: he gnashethH2786 upon me with his teethH8127; mine enemyH6862 sharpenethH3913 his eyesH5869 upon me. 10They have gapedH6473 upon me with their mouthH6310; they have smittenH5221 me upon the cheekH3895 reproachfullyH2781; they have gatheredH4390 themselves togetherH3162 against me. 11GodH0410 hath deliveredH5462 me to the ungodlyH5760, and turned me overH3399 into the handsH3027 of the wickedH7563. 12I was at easeH7961, but he hath broken me asunderH6565: he hath also takenH0270 me by my neckH6203, and shaken me to piecesH6327, and set me upH6965 for his markH4307. 13His archersH7228 compass me round aboutH5437, he cleavethH6398 my reinsH3629 asunderH6398, and doth not spareH2550; he poureth outH8210 my gallH4845 upon the groundH0776. 14He breakethH6555 me with breachH6556 uponH6440 breachH6556, he runnethH7323 upon me like a giantH1368. 15I have sewedH8609 sackclothH8242 upon my skinH1539, and defiledH5953 my hornH7161 in the dustH6083. 16My faceH6440 is foulH2560 with weepingH1065, and on my eyelidsH6079 is the shadow of deathH6757;

17Not for any injusticeH2555 in mine handsH3709: also my prayerH8605 is pureH2134. 18O earthH0776, coverH3680 not thou my bloodH1818, and let my cryH2201 have no placeH4725. 19Also now, behold, my witnessH5707 is in heavenH8064, and my recordH7717 is on highH4791. 20My friendsH7453 scornH3887 me: but mine eyeH5869 poureth outH1811 tears unto GodH0433. 21O that one might pleadH3198 for a manH1397 with GodH0433, as a manH0120 pleadeth for his neighbourH1121! 22When a fewH4557 yearsH8141 are comeH0857, then I shall goH1980 the wayH0734 whence I shall not returnH7725.

Job: Chapter 17

1My breathH7307 is corruptH2254, my daysH3117 are extinctH2193, the gravesH6913 are ready for me. 2 Are there not mockersH2049 with me? and doth not mine eyeH5869 continueH3885 in their provocationH4784? 3Lay downH7760 now, put me in a suretyH6148 with thee; who is he that will strikeH8628 handsH3027 with me? 4For thou hast hidH6845 their heartH3820 from understandingH7922: therefore shalt thou not exaltH7311 them . 5He that speakethH5046 flatteryH2506 to his friendsH7453, even the eyesH5869 of his childrenH1121 shall failH3615. 6He hath madeH3322 me also a bywordH4914 of the peopleH5971; and aforetimeH6440 I was as a tabretH8611. 7Mine eyeH5869 also is dimH3543 by reason of sorrowH3708, and all my membersH3338 are as a shadowH6738. 8UprightH3477 men shall be astoniedH8074 at this, and the innocentH5355 shall stir upH5782 himself against the hypocriteH2611. 9The righteousH6662 also shall holdH0270 on his wayH1870, and he that hath cleanH2890 handsH3027 shall beH3254 stronger and strongerH0555.

10ButH0199 as for you all, do ye returnH7725, and come nowH0935: for I cannot findH4672 one wiseH2450 man among you. 11My daysH3117 are pastH5674, my purposesH2154 are broken offH5423, even the thoughtsH4180 of my heartH3824. 12They changeH7760 the nightH3915 into dayH3117: the lightH0216 is shortH7138 becauseH6440 of darknessH2822. 13If I waitH6960, the graveH7585 is mine houseH1004: I have madeH7502 my bedH3326 in the darknessH2822. 14I have saidH7121 to corruptionH7845, Thou art my fatherH0001: to the wormH7415, Thou art my motherH0517, and my sisterH0269. 15And where is nowH0645 my hopeH8615? as for my hopeH8615, who shall seeH7789 it? 16They shall go downH3381 to the barsH0905 of the pitH7585, when our restH5183 togetherH3162 is in the dustH6083.

Job: Chapter 18

1Then answeredH6030 BildadH1085 the ShuhiteH7747, and saidH0559, 2How longH5704 will it be ere ye makeH7760 an endH7078 of wordsH4405? markH0995, and afterwardsH0310 we will speakH1696. 3Wherefore are we countedH2803 as beastsH0929, and reputed vileH2933 in your sightH5869? 4He tearethH2963 himselfH5315 in his angerH0639: shall the earthH0776 be forsakenH5800 for thee? and shall the rockH6697 be removedH6275 out of his placeH4725?

5Yea, the lightH0216 of the wickedH7563 shall be put outH1846, and the sparkH7632 of his fireH0784 shall not shineH5050. 6The lightH0216 shall be darkH2821 in his tabernacleH0168, and his candleH5216 shall be put outH1846 with him. 7The stepsH6806 of his strengthH0202 shall be straitenedH3334, and his own counselH6098 shall cast him downH7993. 8For he is castH7971 into a netH7568 by his own feetH7272, and he walkethH1980 upon a snareH7639. 9The ginH6341 shall takeH0270 him by the heelH6119, and the robberH6782 shall prevailH2388 against him. 10The snareH2256 is laidH2934 for him in the groundH0776, and a trapH4434 for him in the wayH5410.

11TerrorsH1091 shall make him afraidH1204 on every sideH5439, and shall driveH6327 him to his feetH7272. 12His strengthH0202 shall be hungerbittenH7457, and destructionH0343 shall be readyH3559 at his sideH6763. 13It shall devourH0398 the strengthH0905 of his skinH5785: even the firstbornH1060 of deathH4194 shall devourH0398 his strengthH0905. 14His confidenceH4009 shall be rooted outH5423 of his tabernacleH0168, and it shall bringH6805 him to the kingH4428 of terrorsH1091. 15It shall dwellH7931 in his tabernacleH0168, because it is noneH1097 of his: brimstoneH1614 shall be scatteredH2219 upon his habitationH5116. 16His rootsH8328 shall be dried upH3001 beneath, and aboveH4605 shall his branchH7105 be cut offH5243. 17His remembranceH2143 shall perishH0006 from the earthH0776, and he shall have no nameH8034 in the streetH6440. 18He shall be drivenH1920 from lightH0216 into darknessH2822, and chasedH5074 out of the worldH8398. 19He shall neither have sonH5209 nor nephewH5220 among his peopleH5971, nor any remainingH8300 in his dwellingsH4033. 20They that come afterH0314 him shall be astoniedH8074 at his dayH3117, as they that went beforeH6931 were affrightedH0270. 21Surely such are the dwellingsH4908 of the wickedH5767, and this is the placeH4725 of him that knowethH3045 not GodH0410.

Job: Chapter 19

1Then JobH0347 answeredH6030 and saidH0559, 2How long will ye vexH3013 my soulH5315, and breakH1792 me in pieces with wordsH4405? 3These tenH6235 timesH6471 have ye reproachedH3637 me: ye are not ashamedH0954 that ye make yourselves strangeH1970 to me. 4And be it indeedH0551 that I have erredH7686, mine errorH4879 remainethH3885 with myself. 5If indeedH0551 ye will magnifyH1431 yourselves against me, and pleadH3198 against me my reproachH2781: 6KnowH3045 nowH0645 that GodH0433 hath overthrownH5791 me, and hath compassedH5362 me with his netH4686. 7Behold, I cry outH6817 of wrongH2555, but I am not heardH6030: I cry aloudH7768, but there is no judgmentH4941.

8He hath fenced upH1443 my wayH0734 that I cannot passH5674, and he hath setH7760 darknessH2822 in my pathsH5410. 9He hath strippedH6584 me of my gloryH3519, and takenH5493 the crownH5850 from my headH7218. 10He hath destroyedH5422 me on every sideH5439, and I am goneH3212: and mine hopeH8615 hath he removedH5265 like a treeH6086. 11He hath also kindledH2734 his wrathH0639 against me, and he countethH2803 me unto him as one of his enemiesH6862. 12His troopsH1416 comeH0935 togetherH3162, and raise upH5549 their wayH1870 against me, and encampH2583 round aboutH5439 my tabernacleH0168. 13He hath putH7368 my brethrenH0251 farH7368 from me, and mine acquaintanceH3045 are verily estrangedH2114 from me. 14My kinsfolkH7138 have failedH2308, and my familiar friendsH3045 have forgottenH7911 me. 15They that dwellH1481 in mine houseH1004, and my maidsH0519, countH2803 me for a strangerH2114: I am an alienH5237 in their sightH5869. 16I calledH7121 my servantH5650, and he gave me no answerH6030; I intreatedH2603 him withH1119 my mouthH6310. 17My breathH7307 is strangeH2114 to my wifeH0802, though I intreatedH2589 for the childrensH1121 sake of mine own bodyH0990. 18Yea, young childrenH5759 despisedH3988 me; I aroseH6965, and they spakeH1696 against me. 19All my inwardH5475 friendsH4962 abhorredH8581 me: and they whom I lovedH0157 are turnedH2015 against me. 20My boneH6106 cleavethH1692 to my skinH5785 and to my fleshH1320, and I am escapedH4422 with the skinH5785 of my teethH8127. 21Have pityH2603 upon me, have pityH2603 upon me, O ye my friendsH7453; for the handH3027 of GodH0433 hath touchedH5060 me. 22Why do ye persecuteH7291 me as GodH0410, and are not satisfiedH7646 with my fleshH1320?

23Oh thatH5414 my wordsH4405 were nowH0645 writtenH3789! oh thatH5414 they were printedH2710 in a bookH5612! 24That they were gravenH2672 with an ironH1270 penH5842 and leadH5777 in the rockH6697 for everH5703! 25For I knowH3045 that my redeemerH1350 livethH2416, and that he shall standH6965 at the latterH0314 day upon the earthH6083: 26And though afterH0310 my skinH5785 worms destroyH5362 this body , yet in my fleshH1320 shall I seeH2372 GodH0433: 27Whom I shall seeH2372 for myself, and mine eyesH5869 shall beholdH7200, and not anotherH2114; though my reinsH3629 be consumedH3615 withinH2436 me. 28But ye should sayH0559, Why persecuteH7291 we him, seeing the rootH8328 of the matterH1697 is foundH4672 in me? 29Be ye afraidH1481 of the swordH2719: for wrathH2534 bringeth the punishmentsH5771 ofH6440 the swordH2719, that ye may knowH3045 there is a judgmentH1779.

Job: Chapter 20

1Then answeredH6030 ZopharH6691 the NaamathiteH5284, and saidH0559, 2Therefore do my thoughtsH5587 cause me to answerH7725, and for this I make hasteH2363. 3I have heardH8085 the checkH4148 of my reproachH3639, and the spiritH7307 of my understandingH0998 causeth me to answerH6030. 4KnowestH3045 thou not this of oldH5703, since manH0120 was placedH7760 upon earthH0776, 5That the triumphingH7445 of the wickedH7563 is shortH7138, and the joyH8057 of the hypocriteH2611 but for a momentH7281? 6Though his excellencyH7863 mount upH5927 to the heavensH8064, and his headH7218 reachH5060 unto the cloudsH5645; 7 Yet he shall perishH0006 for everH5331 like his own dungH1561: they which have seenH7200 him shall sayH0559, WhereH0335 is he? 8He shall fly awayH5774 as a dreamH2472, and shall not be foundH4672: yea, he shall be chased awayH5074 as a visionH2384 of the nightH3915. 9The eyeH5869 also which sawH7805 him shall see him no moreH3254; neither shall his placeH4725 any more beholdH7789 him.

10His childrenH1121 shall seek to pleaseH7521 the poorH1800, and his handsH3027 shall restoreH7725 their goodsH0202. 11His bonesH6106 are fullH4390 of the sin of his youthH5934, which shall lie downH7901 with him in the dustH6083. 12Though wickednessH7451 be sweetH4985 in his mouthH6310, though he hideH3582 it under his tongueH3956; 13 Though he spareH2550 it, and forsakeH5800 it not; but keep it stillH4513 withinH8432 his mouthH2441: 14 Yet his meatH3899 in his bowelsH4578 is turnedH2015, it is the gallH4846 of aspsH6620 withinH7130 him. 15He hath swallowed downH1104 richesH2428, and he shall vomit them up againH6958: GodH0410 shall cast them outH3423 of his bellyH0990. 16He shall suckH3243 the poisonH7219 of aspsH6620: the vipersH0660 tongueH3956 shall slayH2026 him. 17He shall not seeH7200 the riversH6390, the floodsH5104, the brooksH5158 of honeyH1706 and butterH2529. 18That which he labouredH3022 for shall he restoreH7725, and shall not swallow his);"> it downH1104: according to his);"> his
substanceH2428 his);"> shall the restitutionH8545 his);"> be , and he shall not rejoiceH5965 his);"> therein . 19Because he hath oppressedH7533 and hath forsakenH5800 the poorH1800; because he hath violently taken awayH1497 an houseH1004 which he buildedH1129 not; 20Surely he shall not feelH3045 quietnessH7961 in his bellyH0990, he shall not saveH4422 of that which he desiredH2530. 21There shall none of his meatH0400 be leftH8300; therefore shall no man lookH2342 for his goodsH2898. 22In the fulnessH4390 of his sufficiencyH5607 he shall be in straitsH3334: every handH3027 of the wickedH6001 shall comeH0935 upon him.

23 When he is about to fillH4390 his bellyH0990, God shall castH7971 the furyH2740 of his wrathH0639 upon him, and shall rainH4305 it upon him while he is eatingH3894. 24He shall fleeH1272 from the ironH1270 weaponH5402, and the bowH7198 of steelH5154 shall strike him throughH2498. 25It is drawnH8025, and cometh outH3318 of the bodyH1465; yea, the glittering swordH1300 cometh outH1980 of his gallH4846: terrorsH0367 are upon him. 26All darknessH2822 shall be hidH2934 in his secret placesH6845: a fireH0784 not blownH5301 shall consumeH0398 him; it shall go illH3415 with him that is leftH8300 in his tabernacleH0168. 27The heavenH8064 shall revealH1540 his iniquityH5771; and the earthH0776 shall rise upH6965 against him. 28The increaseH2981 of his houseH1004 shall departH1540, and his goods shall flow awayH5064 in the dayH3117 of his wrathH0639. 29This is the portionH2506 of a wickedH7563 manH0120 from GodH0430, and the heritageH5159 appointedH0561 unto him by GodH0410.

Job: Chapter 21

1But JobH0347 answeredH6030 and saidH0559, 2HearH8085 diligentlyH8085 my speechH4405, and let this be your consolationsH8575. 3SufferH5375 me that I may speakH1696; and afterH0310 that I have spokenH1696, mock onH3932. 4As for me, is my complaintH7879 to manH0120? and if it were so , why should not my spiritH7307 be troubledH7114? 5MarkH6437 me, and be astonishedH8074, and layH7760 your handH3027 upon your mouthH6310. 6Even when I rememberH2142 I am afraidH0926, and tremblingH6427 taketh hold onH0270 my fleshH1320.

7Wherefore do the wickedH7563 liveH2421, become oldH6275, yea, are mightyH1396 in powerH2428? 8Their seedH2233 is establishedH3559 in their sightH6440 with them, and their offspringH6631 before their eyesH5869. 9Their housesH1004 are safeH7965 from fearH6343, neither is the rodH7626 of GodH0433 upon them. 10Their bullH7794 genderethH5674, and failethH1602 not; their cowH6510 calvethH6403, and casteth not her calfH7921. 11They send forthH7971 their little onesH5759 like a flockH6629, and their childrenH3206 danceH7540. 12They takeH5375 the timbrelH8596 and harpH3658, and rejoiceH8055 at the soundH6963 of the organH5748. 13They spendH3615 their daysH3117 in wealthH2896, and in a momentH7281 go downH2865 to the graveH7585. 14Therefore they sayH0559 unto GodH0410, DepartH5493 from us; for we desireH2654 not the knowledgeH1847 of thy waysH1870. 15What is the AlmightyH7706, that we should serveH5647 him? and what profitH3276 should we have, if we prayH6293 unto him? 16Lo, their goodH2898 is not in their handH3027: the counselH6098 of the wickedH7563 is farH7368 from me.

17How oft is the candleH5216 of the wickedH7563 put outH1846! and how oft comethH0935 their destructionH0343 upon them! God distributethH2505 sorrowsH2256 in his angerH0639. 18They are as stubbleH8401 beforeH6440 the windH7307, and as chaffH4671 that the stormH5492 carrieth awayH1589. 19GodH0433 layeth upH6845 his iniquityH0205 for his childrenH1121: he rewardethH7999 him, and he shall knowH3045 it . 20His eyesH5869 shall seeH7200 his destructionH3589, and he shall drinkH8354 of the wrathH2534 of the AlmightyH7706. 21For what pleasureH2656 hath he in his houseH1004 afterH0310 him, when the numberH4557 of his monthsH2320 is cut off in the midstH2686? 22Shall any teachH3925 GodH0410 knowledgeH1847? seeing he judgethH8199 those that are highH7311. 23One diethH4191 in his fullH8537 strengthH6106, being wholly at easeH7946 and quietH7961. 24His breastsH5845 are fullH4390 of milkH2461, and his bonesH6106 are moistenedH8248 with marrowH4221. 25And another diethH4191 in the bitternessH4751 of his soulH5315, and never eatethH0398 with pleasureH2896. 26They shall lie downH7901 alikeH3162 in the dustH6083, and the wormsH7415 shall coverH3680 them.

27Behold, I knowH3045 your thoughtsH4284, and the devicesH4209 which ye wrongfully imagineH2554 against me. 28For ye sayH0559, Where is the houseH1004 of the princeH5081? and where are the dwellingH4908 placesH0168 of the wickedH7563? 29Have ye not askedH7592 them that goH5674 by the wayH1870? and do ye not knowH5234 their tokensH0226, 30That the wickedH7451 is reservedH2820 to the dayH3117 of destructionH0343? they shall be brought forthH2986 to the dayH3117 of wrathH5678. 31Who shall declareH5046 his wayH1870 to his faceH6440? and who shall repayH7999 him what he hath doneH6213? 32Yet shall he be broughtH2986 to the graveH6913, and shall remainH8245 in the tombH1430. 33The clodsH7263 of the valleyH5158 shall be sweetH4985 unto him, and every manH0120 shall drawH4900 afterH0310 him, as there are innumerableH4557 beforeH6440 him. 34How then comfortH5162 ye me in vainH1892, seeing in your answersH8666 there remainethH7604 falsehoodH4604?

Job: Chapter 22

1Then EliphazH0464 the TemaniteH8489 answeredH6030 and saidH0559, 2Can a manH1397 be profitableH5532 unto GodH0410, asH3588 he that is wiseH7919 may be profitableH5532 unto himself? 3 Is it any pleasureH2656 to the AlmightyH7706, that thou art righteousH6663? or is it gainH1215 to him , that thou makest thy waysH1870 perfectH8552? 4Will he reproveH3198 thee for fearH3374 of thee? will he enterH0935 with thee into judgmentH4941?

5 Is not thy wickednessH7451 greatH7227? and thine iniquitiesH5771 infiniteH7093? 6For thou hast taken a pledgeH2254 from thy brotherH0251 for noughtH2600, and strippedH6584 the nakedH6174 of their clothingH0899. 7Thou hast not given waterH4325 to the wearyH5889 to drinkH8248, and thou hast withholdenH4513 breadH3899 from the hungryH7457. 8But as for the mightyH2220 manH0376, he had the earthH0776; and the honourable manH5375 dweltH3427 in it. 9Thou hast sentH7971 widowsH0490 away emptyH7387, and the armsH2220 of the fatherlessH3490 have been brokenH1792. 10Therefore snaresH6341 are round aboutH5439 thee, and suddenH6597 fearH6343 troublethH0926 thee; 11Or darknessH2822, that thou canst not seeH7200; and abundanceH8229 of watersH4325 coverH3680 thee. 12 Is not GodH0433 in the heightH1363 of heavenH8064? and beholdH7200 the heightH7218 of the starsH3556, how highH7311 they are! 13And thou sayestH0559, How doth GodH0410 knowH3045? can he judgeH8199 through the dark cloudH6205? 14Thick cloudsH5645 are a coveringH5643 to him, that he seethH7200 not; and he walkethH1980 in the circuitH2329 of heavenH8064.

15Hast thou markedH8104 the oldH5769 wayH0734 which wickedH0205 menH4962 have troddenH1869? 16Which were cut downH7059 out of timeH6256, whose foundationH3247 was overflownH3332 with a floodH5104: 17Which saidH0559 unto GodH0410, DepartH5493 from us: and what can the AlmightyH7706 doH6466 for them? 18Yet he filledH4390 their housesH1004 with goodH2896 things: but the counselH6098 of the wickedH7563 is farH7368 from me. 19The righteousH6662 seeH7200 it , and are gladH8055: and the innocentH5355 laugh them to scornH3932. 20WhereasH0518 our substanceH7009 is not cut downH3582, but the remnantH3499 of them the fireH0784 consumethH0398.

21AcquaintH5532 now thyself with him, and be at peaceH7999: thereby goodH2896 shall comeH0935 unto thee. 22ReceiveH3947, I pray thee, the lawH8451 from his mouthH6310, and lay upH7760 his wordsH0561 in thine heartH3824. 23If thou returnH7725 to the AlmightyH7706, thou shalt be built upH1129, thou shalt put awayH7368 iniquityH5766 farH7368 from thy tabernaclesH0168. 24Then shalt thou lay upH7896 goldH1220 asH5921 dustH6083, and the gold of OphirH0211 as the stonesH6697 of the brooksH5158. 25Yea, the AlmightyH7706 shall be thy defenceH1220, and thou shalt have plentyH8443 of silverH3701. 26For then shalt thou have thy delightH6026 in the AlmightyH7706, and shalt lift upH5375 thy faceH6440 unto GodH0433. 27Thou shalt make thy prayerH6279 unto him, and he shall hearH8085 thee, and thou shalt payH7999 thy vowsH5088. 28Thou shalt also decreeH1504 a thingH0562, and it shall be establishedH6965 unto thee: and the lightH0216 shall shineH5050 upon thy waysH1870. 29When men are cast downH8213, then thou shalt sayH0559, There is lifting upH1466; and he shall saveH3467 the humbleH7807 personH5869. 30He shall deliverH4422 the islandH0336 of the innocentH5355: and it is deliveredH4422 by the purenessH1252 of thine handsH3709.

Job: Chapter 23

1Then JobH0347 answeredH6030 and saidH0559, 2Even to dayH3117 is my complaintH7879 bitterH4805: my strokeH3027 is heavierH3513 than my groaningH0585. 3Oh thatH5414 I knewH3045 where I might findH4672 him! that I might comeH0935 even to his seatH8499! 4I would orderH6186 my causeH4941 beforeH6440 him, and fillH4390 my mouthH6310 with argumentsH8433. 5I would knowH3045 the wordsH4405 which he would answerH6030 me, and understandH0995 what he would sayH0559 unto me. 6Will he pleadH7378 againstH5978 me with his greatH7230 powerH3581? No; but he would putH7760 strength in me. 7There the righteousH3477 might disputeH3198 with him; so should I be deliveredH6403 for everH5331 from my judgeH8199.

8Behold, I goH1980 forwardH6924, but he is not there; and backwardH0268, but I cannot perceiveH0995 him: 9On the left handH8040, where he doth workH6213, but I cannot beholdH2372 him: he hidethH5848 himself on the right handH3225, that I cannot seeH7200 him: 10But he knowethH3045 the wayH1870 that I takeH5978: when he hath triedH0974 me, I shall come forthH3318 as goldH2091. 11My footH7272 hath heldH0270 his stepsH0838, his wayH1870 have I keptH8104, and not declinedH5186. 12Neither have I gone backH4185 from the commandmentH4687 of his lipsH8193; I have esteemedH6845 the wordsH0561 of his mouthH6310 more than my necessaryH2706 food .

13But he is in oneH0259 mind , and who can turnH7725 him? and what his soulH5315 desirethH0183, even that he doethH6213. 14For he performethH7999 the thing that is appointedH2706 for me: and manyH7227 suchH2007 things are with him. 15Therefore am I troubledH0926 at his presenceH6440: when I considerH0995, I am afraidH6342 of him. 16For GodH0410 maketh my heartH3820 softH7401, and the AlmightyH7706 troublethH0926 me: 17Because I was not cut offH6789 beforeH6440 the darknessH2822, neither hath he coveredH3680 the darknessH0652 from my faceH6440.

Job: Chapter 24

1Why, seeing timesH6256 are not hiddenH6845 from the AlmightyH7706, do they that knowH3045 him not seeH2372 his daysH3117? 2 Some removeH5381 the landmarksH1367; they violently take awayH1497 flocksH5739, and feedH7462 thereof . 3They drive awayH5090 the assH2543 of the fatherlessH3490, they takeH2254 the widowsH0490 oxH7794 for a pledgeH2254. 4They turnH5186 the needyH0034 out of the wayH1870: the poorH6041 of the earthH0776 hideH2244 themselves togetherH3162. 5Behold, as wild assesH6501 in the desertH4057, go they forthH3318 to their workH6467; rising betimesH7836 for a preyH2964: the wildernessH6160 yieldeth foodH3899 for them and for their childrenH5288. 6They reapH7114 every one his cornH1098 in the fieldH7704: and they gatherH3953 the vintageH3754 of the wickedH7563. 7They cause the nakedH6174 to lodgeH3885 without clothingH3830, that they have no coveringH3682 in the coldH7135. 8They are wetH7372 with the showersH2230 of the mountainsH2022, and embraceH2263 the rockH6697 for want of a shelterH4268. 9They pluckH1497 the fatherlessH3490 from the breastH7699, and take a pledgeH2254 of the poorH6041. 10They cause him to goH1980 nakedH6174 without clothingH3830, and they take awayH5375 the sheafH6016 from the hungryH7457; 11 Which make oilH6671 withinH0996 their wallsH7791, and treadH1869 their winepressesH3342, and suffer thirstH6770. 12MenH4962 groanH5008 from out of the cityH5892, and the soulH5315 of the woundedH2491 crieth outH7768: yet GodH0433 layethH7760 not follyH8604 to them .

13They are of those that rebelH4775 against the lightH0216; they knowH5234 not the waysH1870 thereof, nor abideH3427 in the pathsH5410 thereof. 14The murdererH7523 risingH6965 with the lightH0216 killethH6991 the poorH6041 and needyH0034, and in the nightH3915 is as a thiefH1590. 15The eyeH5869 also of the adultererH5003 waitethH8104 for the twilightH5399, sayingH0559, No eyeH5869 shall seeH7789 me: and disguisethH5643 his faceH6440. 16In the darkH2822 they dig throughH2864 housesH1004, which they had markedH2856 for themselves in the daytimeH3119: they knowH3045 not the lightH0216. 17For the morningH1242 is to them even asH3162 the shadow of deathH6757: if one knowH5234 them, they are in the terrorsH1091 of the shadow of deathH6757.

18He is swiftH7031 as the watersH6440; their portionH2513 is cursedH7043 in the earthH0776: he beholdethH6437 not the wayH1870 of the vineyardsH3754. 19DroughtH6723 and heatH2527 consumeH1497 the snowH7950 watersH4325: so doth the graveH7585 those which have sinnedH2398. 20The wombH7358 shall forgetH7911 him; the wormH7415 shall feed sweetlyH4988 on him; he shall be no more rememberedH2142; and wickednessH5766 shall be brokenH7665 as a treeH6086. 21He evil entreatethH7462 the barrenH6135 that bearethH3205 not: and doeth not goodH3190 to the widowH0490. 22He drawethH4900 also the mightyH0047 with his powerH3581: he riseth upH6965, and no man is sureH0539 of lifeH2416. 23 Though it be givenH5414 him to be in safetyH0983, whereon he restethH8172; yet his eyesH5869 are upon their waysH1870. 24They are exaltedH7426 for a little whileH4592, but are gone and brought lowH4355; they are taken outH7092 of the wayH1870 as all other , and cut offH5243 as the topsH7218 of the ears of cornH7641. 25And if it be not so nowH0645, who will makeH7760 me a liarH3576, and makeH7760 my speechH4405 nothing worthH0408?

Job: Chapter 25

1Then answeredH6030 BildadH1085 the ShuhiteH7747, and saidH0559, 2DominionH4910 and fearH6343 are with him, he makethH6213 peaceH7965 in his high placesH4791. 3Is thereH3426 any numberH4557 of his armiesH1416? and upon whom doth not his lightH0216 ariseH6965? 4How then can manH0582 be justifiedH6663 with GodH0410? or how can he be cleanH2135 that is bornH3205 of a womanH0802? 5Behold even to the moonH3394, and it shinethH0166 not; yea, the starsH3556 are not pureH2141 in his sightH5869. 6How much less manH0582, that is a wormH7415? and the sonH1121 of manH0120, which is a wormH8438?

Job: Chapter 26

1But JobH0347 answeredH6030 and saidH0559, 2How hast thou helpedH5826 him that is without powerH3581? how savestH3467 thou the armH2220 that hath noH3808 strengthH5797? 3How hast thou counselledH3289 him that hath noH3808 wisdomH2451? and how hast thou plentifullyH7230 declaredH3045 the thing as it isH8454? 4To whom hast thou utteredH5046 wordsH4405? and whose spiritH5397 cameH3318 from thee?

5DeadH7496 things are formedH2342 from under the watersH4325, and the inhabitantsH7931 thereof. 6HellH7585 is nakedH6174 before him, and destructionH0011 hath no coveringH3682. 7He stretcheth outH5186 the northH6828 over the empty placeH8414, and hangethH8518 the earthH0776 upon nothingH1099. 8He bindeth upH6887 the watersH4325 in his thick cloudsH5645; and the cloudH6051 is not rentH1234 under them. 9He holdeth backH0270 the faceH6440 of his throneH3678, and spreadethH6576 his cloudH6051 upon it. 10He hath compassedH2328 the watersH6440 with boundsH2706, until the dayH0216 and nightH2822 come to an endH8503. 11The pillarsH5982 of heavenH8064 trembleH7322 and are astonishedH8539 at his reproofH1606. 12He dividethH7280 the seaH3220 with his powerH3581, and by his understandingH8394 he smitethH4272 through the proudH7293. 13By his spiritH7307 he hath garnishedH8235 the heavensH8064; his handH3027 hath formedH2342 the crookedH1281 serpentH5175. 14Lo, these are partsH7098 of his waysH1870: but how littleH8102 a portionH1697 is heardH8085 of him? but the thunderH7482 of his powerH1369 who can understandH0995?

Job: Chapter 27

1Moreover JobH0347 continuedH3254 his parableH4912, and saidH0559, 2 As GodH0410 livethH2416, who hath taken awayH5493 my judgmentH4941; and the AlmightyH7706, who hath vexedH4843 my soulH5315; 3All the whileH5750 my breathH5397 is in me, and the spiritH7307 of GodH0433 is in my nostrilsH0639; 4My lipsH8193 shall not speakH1696 wickednessH5766, nor my tongueH3956 utterH1897 deceitH7423. 5God forbidH2486 that I should justifyH6663 you: till I dieH1478 I will not removeH5493 mine integrityH8538 from me. 6My righteousnessH6666 I holdH2388 fast, and will not let it goH7503: my heartH3824 shall not reproachH2778 me so long as I liveH3117.

7Let mine enemyH0341 be as the wickedH7563, and he that riseth upH6965 against me as the unrighteousH5767. 8For what is the hopeH8615 of the hypocriteH2611, though he hath gainedH1214, when GodH0433 taketh awayH7953 his soulH5315? 9Will GodH0410 hearH8085 his cryH6818 when troubleH6869 comethH0935 upon him? 10Will he delightH6026 himself in the AlmightyH7706? will he alwaysH6256 callH7121 upon GodH0433?

11I will teachH3384 you by the handH3027 of GodH0410: that which is with the AlmightyH7706 will I not concealH3582. 12Behold, all ye yourselves have seenH2372 it; why then are ye thus altogetherH1892 vainH1891? 13This is the portionH2506 of a wickedH7563 manH0120 with GodH0410, and the heritageH5159 of oppressorsH6184, which they shall receiveH3947 of the AlmightyH7706. 14If his childrenH1121 be multipliedH7235, it is forH3926 the swordH2719: and his offspringH6631 shall not be satisfiedH7646 with breadH3899. 15Those that remainH8300 of him shall be buriedH6912 in deathH4194: and his widowsH0490 shall not weepH1058. 16Though he heap upH6651 silverH3701 as the dustH6083, and prepareH3559 raimentH4403 as the clayH2563; 17He may prepareH3559 it , but the justH6662 shall put it onH3847, and the innocentH5355 shall divideH2505 the silverH3701. 18He buildethH1129 his houseH1004 as a mothH6211, and as a boothH5521 that the keeperH5341 makethH6213. 19The richH6223 man shall lie downH7901, but he shall not be gatheredH0622: he openethH6491 his eyesH5869, and he is not. 20TerrorsH1091 take holdH5381 on him as watersH4325, a tempestH5492 stealeth him awayH1589 in the nightH3915. 21The eastH6921 wind carrieth him awayH5375, and he departethH3212: and as a storm hurlethH8175 him out of his placeH4725. 22For God shall castH7993 upon him, and not spareH2550: he would fainH1272 fleeH1272 out of his handH3027. 23 Men shall clapH5606 their handsH3709 at him, and shall hissH8319 him out of his placeH4725.

Job: Chapter 28

1SurelyH3426 there is a veinH4161 for the silverH3701, and a placeH4725 for goldH2091 where they fineH2212 it . 2IronH1270 is takenH3947 out of the earthH6083, and brassH5154 is moltenH6694 out of the stoneH0068. 3He settethH7760 an endH7093 to darknessH2822, and searcheth outH2713 all perfectionH8503: the stonesH0068 of darknessH0652, and the shadow of deathH6757. 4The floodH5158 breaketh outH6555 from the inhabitantH1481; even the waters forgottenH7911 of the footH7272: they are dried upH1809, they are gone awayH5128 from menH0582. 5 As for the earthH0776, out of it comethH3318 breadH3899: and under it is turned upH2015 as it were fireH0784. 6The stonesH0068 of it are the placeH4725 of sapphiresH5601: and it hath dustH6083 of goldH2091. 7 There is a pathH5410 which no fowlH5861 knowethH3045, and which the vulturesH0344 eyeH5869 hath not seenH7805: 8The lionsH7830 whelpsH1121 have not troddenH1869 it, nor the fierce lionH7826 passedH5710 by it. 9He putteth forthH7971 his handH3027 upon the rockH2496; he overturnethH2015 the mountainsH2022 by the rootsH8328. 10He cutteth outH1234 riversH2975 among the rocksH6697; and his eyeH5869 seethH7200 every precious thingH3366. 11He bindethH2280 the floodsH5104 from overflowingH1065; and the thing that is hidH8587 bringeth he forthH3318 to lightH0216. 12But whereH0370 shall wisdomH2451 be foundH4672? and where is the placeH4725 of understandingH0998? 13ManH0582 knowethH3045 not the priceH6187 thereof; neither is it foundH4672 in the landH0776 of the livingH2416.

14The depthH8415 saithH0559, It is not in me: and the seaH3220 saithH0559, It is not with me. 15It cannot be gottenH5414 for goldH5458, neither shall silverH3701 be weighedH8254 for the priceH4242 thereof. 16It cannot be valuedH5541 with the goldH3800 of OphirH0211, with the preciousH3368 onyxH7718, or the sapphireH5601. 17The goldH2091 and the crystalH2137 cannot equalH6186 it: and the exchangeH8545 of it shall not be for jewelsH3627 of fine goldH6337. 18No mentionH2142 shall be made of coralH7215, or of pearlsH1378: for the priceH4901 of wisdomH2451 is above rubiesH6443. 19The topazH6357 of EthiopiaH3568 shall not equalH6186 it, neither shall it be valuedH5541 with pureH2889 goldH3800.

20WhenceH0370 then comethH0935 wisdomH2451? and where is the placeH4725 of understandingH0998? 21Seeing it is hidH5956 from the eyesH5869 of all livingH2416, and kept closeH5641 from the fowlsH5775 of the airH8064. 22DestructionH0011 and deathH4194 sayH0559, We have heardH8085 the fameH8088 thereof with our earsH0241. 23GodH0430 understandethH0995 the wayH1870 thereof, and he knowethH3045 the placeH4725 thereof. 24For he lookethH5027 to the endsH7098 of the earthH0776, and seethH7200 under the whole heavenH8064; 25To makeH6213 the weightH4948 for the windsH7307; and he weighethH8505 the watersH4325 by measureH4060. 26When he madeH6213 a decreeH2706 for the rainH4306, and a wayH1870 for the lightningH2385 of the thunderH6963: 27Then did he seeH7200 it, and declareH5608 it; he preparedH3559 it, yea, and searched it outH2713. 28And unto manH0120 he saidH0559, Behold, the fearH3374 of the LordH0136, that is wisdomH2451; and to departH5493 from evilH7451 is understandingH0998.

Job: Chapter 29

1Moreover JobH0347 continuedH3254 his parableH4912, and saidH0559, 2Oh thatH5414 I were as in monthsH3391 pastH6924, as in the daysH3117 when GodH0433 preservedH8104 me; 3When his candleH5216 shinedH1984 upon my headH7218, and when by his lightH0216 I walkedH3212 through darknessH2822; 4As I was in the daysH3117 of my youthH2779, when the secretH5475 of GodH0433 was upon my tabernacleH0168; 5When the AlmightyH7706 was yet with me, when my childrenH5288 were aboutH5439 me; 6When I washedH7364 my stepsH1978 with butterH2529, and the rockH6697 poured me outH6694 riversH6388 of oilH8081;

7When I went outH3318 to the gateH8179 through the cityH7176, when I preparedH3559 my seatH4186 in the streetH7339! 8The young menH5288 sawH7200 me, and hidH2244 themselves: and the agedH3453 aroseH6965, and stood upH5975. 9The princesH8269 refrainedH6113 talkingH4405, and laidH7760 their handH3709 on their mouthH6310. 10The noblesH5057 heldH2244 their peaceH6963, and their tongueH3956 cleavedH1692 to the roof of their mouthH2441. 11When the earH0241 heardH8085 me , then it blessedH0833 me; and when the eyeH5869 sawH7200 me , it gave witnessH5749 to me: 12Because I deliveredH4422 the poorH6041 that criedH7768, and the fatherlessH3490, and him that had none to helpH5826 him. 13The blessingH1293 of him that was ready to perishH0006 cameH0935 upon me: and I caused the widowsH0490 heartH3820 to sing for joyH7442. 14I putH3847 on righteousnessH6664, and it clothedH3847 me: my judgmentH4941 was as a robeH4598 and a diademH6797. 15I was eyesH5869 to the blindH5787, and feetH7272 was I to the lameH6455. 16I was a fatherH0001 to the poorH0034: and the causeH7379 which I knewH3045 not I searched outH2713. 17And I brakeH7665 the jawsH4973 of the wickedH5767, and pluckedH7993 the spoilH2964 out of his teethH8127.

18Then I saidH0559, I shall dieH1478 in my nestH7064, and I shall multiplyH7235 my daysH3117 as the sandH2344. 19My rootH8328 was spread outH6605 by the watersH4325, and the dewH2919 lay all nightH3885 upon my branchH7105. 20My gloryH3519 was freshH2319 in meH5978, and my bowH7198 was renewedH2498 in my handH3027. 21Unto me men gave earH8085, and waitedH3176, and kept silenceH1826 atH3926 my counselH6098. 22AfterH0310 my wordsH1697 they spake not againH8138; and my speechH4405 droppedH5197 upon them. 23And they waitedH3176 for me as for the rainH4306; and they openedH6473 their mouthH6310 wide as for the latter rainH4456. 24 If I laughedH7832 on them, they believedH0539 it not; and the lightH0216 of my countenanceH6440 they cast not downH5307. 25I choseH0977 out their wayH1870, and satH3427 chiefH7218, and dweltH7931 as a kingH4428 in the armyH1416, as one that comfortethH5162 the mournersH0057.

Job: Chapter 30

1But now they that are youngerH6810 than I have me in derisionH7832, whose fathersH0001 I would have disdainedH3988 to have setH7896 with the dogsH3611 of my flockH6629. 2Yea, wheretoH4100 might the strengthH3581 of their handsH3027 profit me, in whom old ageH3624 was perishedH0006? 3For wantH2639 and famineH3720 they were solitaryH1565; fleeingH6207 into the wildernessH6723 in former timeH0570 desolateH7722 and wasteH4875. 4Who cut upH6998 mallowsH4408 by the bushesH7880, and juniperH7574 rootsH8328 for their meatH3899. 5They were driven forthH1644 from amongH1460 men , (they criedH7321 after them as after a thiefH1590;) 6To dwellH7931 in the cliftsH6178 of the valleysH5158, in cavesH2356 of the earthH6083, and in the rocksH3710. 7Among the bushesH7880 they brayedH5101; under the nettlesH2738 they were gathered togetherH5596. 8 They were childrenH1121 of foolsH5036, yea, childrenH1121 of base menH8034: they were vilerH5217 than the earthH0776. 9And now am I their songH5058, yea, I am their bywordH4405. 10They abhorH8581 me, they flee farH7368 from me, and spareH2820 not to spitH7536 in my faceH6440. 11Because he hath loosedH6605 my cordH3499, and afflictedH6031 me, they have also let looseH7971 the bridleH7448 beforeH6440 me. 12Upon my rightH3225 hand riseH6965 the youthH6526; they push awayH7971 my feetH7272, and they raise upH5549 against me the waysH0734 of their destructionH0343. 13They marH5420 my pathH5410, they set forwardH3276 my calamityH1942, they have no helperH5826. 14They cameH0857 upon me as a wideH7342 breakingH6556 in of waters: inH8478 the desolationH7722 they rolledH1556 themselves upon me .

15TerrorsH1091 are turnedH2015 upon me: they pursueH7291 my soulH5082 as the windH7307: and my welfareH3444 passeth awayH5674 as a cloudH5645. 16And now my soulH5315 is poured outH8210 upon me; the daysH3117 of afflictionH6040 have taken holdH0270 upon me. 17My bonesH6106 are piercedH5365 in me in the night seasonH3915: and my sinewsH6207 take no restH7901. 18By the greatH7230 forceH3581 of my disease is my garmentH3830 changedH2664: it bindeth me aboutH0247 as the collarH6310 of my coatH3801. 19He hath castH3384 me into the mireH2563, and I am become likeH4911 dustH6083 and ashesH0665. 20I cryH7768 unto thee, and thou dost not hearH6030 me: I stand upH5975, and thou regardestH0995 me not . 21Thou art becomeH2015 cruelH0393 to me: with thy strongH6108 handH3027 thou opposestH7852 thyself against me. 22Thou liftest me upH5375 to the windH7307; thou causest me to rideH7392 upon it , and dissolvestH4127 my substanceH8454. 23For I knowH3045 that thou wilt bringH7725 me to deathH4194, and to the houseH1004 appointedH4150 for all livingH2416. 24Howbeit he will not stretch outH7971 his handH3027 to the graveH1164, though they cryH7769 in his destructionH6365. 25Did not I weepH1058 for him that was in troubleH7186? was not my soulH5315 grievedH5701 for the poorH0034? 26When I lookedH6960 for goodH2896, then evilH7451 cameH0935 unto me: and when I waitedH3176 for lightH0216, there cameH0935 darknessH0652. 27My bowelsH4578 boiledH7570, and restedH1826 not: the daysH3117 of afflictionH6040 preventedH6923 me. 28I wentH1980 mourningH6937 without the sunH2535: I stood upH6965, and I criedH7768 in the congregationH6951. 29I am a brotherH0251 to dragonsH8577, and a companionH7453 to owlsH1323. 30My skinH5785 is blackH7835 upon me, and my bonesH6106 are burnedH2787 with heatH2721. 31My harpH3658 also is turned to mourningH0060, and my organH5748 into the voiceH6963 of them that weepH1058.

Job: Chapter 31

1I madeH3772 a covenantH1285 with mine eyesH5869; why then should I thinkH0995 upon a maidH1330? 2For what portionH2506 of GodH0433 is there from aboveH4605? and what inheritanceH5159 of the AlmightyH7706 from on highH4791? 3 Is not destructionH0343 to the wickedH5767? and a strangeH5235 punishment to the workersH6466 of iniquityH0205? 4Doth not he seeH7200 my waysH1870, and countH5608 all my stepsH6806? 5If I have walkedH1980 with vanityH7723, or if my footH7272 hath hastedH2363 to deceitH4820; 6Let me be weighedH8254 in an evenH6664 balanceH3976, that GodH0433 may knowH3045 mine integrityH8538. 7If my stepH0838 hath turned outH5186 of the wayH1870, and mine heartH3820 walkedH1980 afterH0310 mine eyesH5869, and if any blotH3971 hath cleavedH1692 to mine handsH3709; 8 Then let me sowH2232, and let anotherH0312 eatH0398; yea, let my offspringH6631 be rooted outH8327.

9If mine heartH3820 have been deceivedH6601 by a womanH0802, or if I have laid waitH0693 at my neighboursH7453 doorH6607; 10 Then let my wifeH0802 grindH2912 unto anotherH0312, and let othersH0312 bow downH3766 upon her. 11For this is an heinous crimeH2154; yea, it is an iniquityH5771 to be punished by the judgesH6414. 12For it is a fireH0784 that consumethH0398 to destructionH0011, and would root outH8327 all mine increaseH8393. 13If I did despiseH3988 the causeH4941 of my manservantH5650 or of my maidservantH0519, when they contendedH7379 with me; 14What then shall I doH6213 when GodH0410 riseth upH6965? and when he visitethH6485, what shall I answerH7725 him? 15Did not he that madeH6213 me in the wombH0990 makeH6213 him? and did not oneH0259 fashionH3559 us in the wombH7358?

16If I have withheldH4513 the poorH1800 from their desireH2656, or have caused the eyesH5869 of the widowH0490 to failH3615; 17Or have eatenH0398 my morselH6595 myself alone, and the fatherlessH3490 hath not eatenH0398 thereof; 18(For from my youthH5271 he was brought upH1431 with me, as with a fatherH0001, and I have guidedH5148 her from my mothersH0517 wombH0990;) 19If I have seenH7200 any perishH0006 for want of clothingH3830, or any poorH0034 without coveringH3682; 20If his loinsH2504 have not blessedH1288 me, and if he were not warmedH2552 with the fleeceH1488 of my sheepH3532; 21If I have lifted upH5130 my handH3027 against the fatherlessH3490, when I sawH7200 my helpH5833 in the gateH8179: 22 Then let mine armH3802 fallH5307 from my shoulder bladeH7929, and mine armH0248 be brokenH7665 from the boneH7070. 23For destructionH0343 from GodH0410 was a terrorH6343 to me, and by reason of his highnessH7613 I couldH3201 not endure.

24If I have madeH7760 goldH2091 my hopeH3689, or have saidH0559 to the fine goldH3800, Thou art my confidenceH4009; 25If I rejoicedH8055 because my wealthH2428 was greatH7227, and because mine handH3027 had gottenH4672 muchH3524; 26If I beheldH7200 the sunH0216 when it shinedH1984, or the moonH3394 walkingH1980 in brightnessH3368; 27And my heartH3820 hath been secretlyH5643 enticedH6601, or my mouthH6310 hath kissedH5401 my handH3027: 28This also were an iniquityH5771 to be punished by the judgeH6416: for I should have deniedH3584 the GodH0410 that is aboveH4605. 29If I rejoicedH8055 at the destructionH6365 of him that hatedH8130 me, or lifted upH5782 myself when evilH7451 foundH4672 him: 30Neither have I sufferedH5414 my mouthH2441 to sinH2398 by wishingH7592 a curseH0423 to his soulH5315. 31If the menH4962 of my tabernacleH0168 saidH0559 not, Oh that we hadH5414 of his fleshH1320! we cannot be satisfiedH7646. 32The strangerH1616 did not lodgeH3885 in the streetH2351: but I openedH6605 my doorsH1817 to the travellerH0734.

33If I coveredH3680 my transgressionsH6588 as AdamH0121, by hidingH2934 mine iniquityH5771 in my bosomH2243: 34Did I fearH6206 a greatH7227 multitudeH1995, or did the contemptH0937 of familiesH4940 terrifyH2865 me, that I kept silenceH1826, and went not outH3318 of the doorH6607? 35Oh thatH5414 one would hearH8085 me! behold, my desireH8420 is, that the AlmightyH7706 would answerH6030 me, and that mine adversaryH0376 had writtenH3789 a bookH5612. 36Surely I would takeH5375 it upon my shoulderH7926, and bindH6029 it as a crownH5850 to me. 37I would declareH5046 unto him the numberH4557 of my stepsH6806; as a princeH5057 would I go nearH7126 unto him. 38If my landH0127 cryH2199 against me, or that the furrowsH8525 likewiseH3162 thereof complainH1058; 39If I have eatenH0398 the fruitsH3581 thereof without moneyH3701, or have caused the ownersH1167 thereof to loseH5301 their lifeH5315: 40Let thistlesH2336 growH3318 instead of wheatH2406, and cockleH0890 instead of barleyH8184. The wordsH1697 of JobH0347 are endedH8552.

Job: Chapter 32

1So these threeH7969 menH0582 ceasedH7673 to answerH6030 JobH0347, because he was righteousH6662 in his own eyesH5869. 2Then was kindledH2734 the wrathH0639 of ElihuH0453 the sonH1121 of BarachelH1292 the BuziteH0940, of the kindredH4940 of RamH7410: against JobH0347 was his wrathH0639 kindledH2734, because he justifiedH6663 himselfH5315 rather than GodH0430. 3Also against his threeH7969 friendsH7453 was his wrathH0639 kindledH2734, because they had foundH4672 no answerH4617, and yet had condemnedH7561 JobH0347. 4Now ElihuH0453 had waitedH2442 till JobH0347 had spokenH1697, because they were elderH2205 than he. 5When ElihuH0453 sawH7200 that there was no answerH4617 in the mouthH6310 of these threeH7969 menH0582, then his wrathH0639 was kindledH2734.

6And ElihuH0453 the sonH1121 of BarachelH1292 the BuziteH0940 answeredH6030 and saidH0559, I am youngH6810, and ye are very oldH3453; wherefore I was afraidH2119, and durstH3372 not shewH2331 you mine opinionH1843. 7I saidH0559, DaysH3117 should speakH1696, and multitudeH7230 of yearsH8141 should teachH3045 wisdomH2451. 8ButH0403 there is a spiritH7307 in manH0582: and the inspirationH5397 of the AlmightyH7706 giveth them understandingH0995. 9Great menH7227 are not always wiseH2449: neither do the agedH2205 understandH0995 judgmentH4941. 10Therefore I saidH0559, HearkenH8085 to me; I also will shewH2331 mine opinionH1843. 11Behold, I waitedH3176 for your wordsH1697; I gave earH0238 to your reasonsH8394, whilst ye searched outH2713 what to sayH4405. 12Yea, I attendedH0995 unto you, and, behold, there was none of you that convincedH3198 JobH0347, or that answeredH6030 his wordsH0561: 13Lest ye should sayH0559, We have found outH4672 wisdomH2451: GodH0410 thrusteth him downH5086, not manH0376. 14Now he hath not directedH6186 his wordsH4405 against me: neither will I answerH7725 him with your speechesH0561.

15They were amazedH2865, they answeredH6030 no more: they left offH6275 speakingH4405. 16When I had waitedH3176, (for they spakeH1696 not, but stood stillH5975, and answeredH6030 no more;) 17 I said , I will answerH6030 also my partH2506, I also will shewH2331 mine opinionH1843. 18For I am fullH4390 of matterH4405, the spiritH7307 withinH0990 me constrainethH6693 me. 19Behold, my bellyH0990 is as wineH3196 which hath no ventH6605; it is ready to burstH1234 like newH2319 bottlesH0178. 20I will speakH1696, that I may be refreshedH7304: I will openH6605 my lipsH8193 and answerH6030. 21Let me not, I pray you, acceptH5375 any mansH0376 personH6440, neither let me give flattering titlesH3655 unto manH0120. 22For I knowH3045 not to give flattering titlesH3655; in so doing my makerH6213 would soonH4592 take me awayH5375.

Job: Chapter 33

1WhereforeH0199, JobH0347, I pray thee, hearH8085 my speechesH4405, and hearkenH0238 to all my wordsH1697. 2Behold, now I have openedH6605 my mouthH6310, my tongueH3956 hath spokenH1696 in my mouthH2441. 3My wordsH0561 shall be of the uprightnessH3476 of my heartH3820: and my lipsH8193 shall utterH4448 knowledgeH1847 clearlyH1305. 4The SpiritH7307 of GodH0410 hath madeH6213 me, and the breathH5397 of the AlmightyH7706 hath given me lifeH2421. 5If thou canstH3201 answerH7725 me, set thy words in orderH6186 beforeH6440 me, stand upH3320. 6Behold, I am according to thy wishH6310 in GodsH0410 stead: I also am formedH7169 out of the clayH2563. 7Behold, my terrorH0367 shall not make thee afraidH1204, neither shall my handH0405 be heavyH3513 upon thee.

8Surely thou hast spokenH0559 in mine hearingH0241, and I have heardH8085 the voiceH6963 of thy wordsH4405, saying , 9I am cleanH2134 without transgressionH6588, I am innocentH2643; neither is there iniquityH5771 in me. 10Behold, he findethH4672 occasionsH8569 against me, he countethH2803 me for his enemyH0341, 11He puttethH7760 my feetH7272 in the stocksH5465, he markethH8104 all my pathsH0734. 12Behold, in this thou art not justH6663: I will answerH6030 thee, that GodH0433 is greaterH7235 than manH0582. 13Why dost thou striveH7378 against him? for he giveth not accountH6030 of any of his mattersH1697.

14For GodH0410 speakethH1696 onceH0259, yea twiceH8147, yet man perceivethH7789 it not. 15In a dreamH2472, in a visionH2384 of the nightH3915, when deepH8639 sleep fallethH5307 upon menH0582, in slumberingsH8572 upon the bedH4904; 16Then he openethH1540 the earsH0241 of menH0582, and sealethH2856 their instructionH4561, 17That he may withdrawH5493 manH0120 from his purposeH4639, and hideH3680 prideH1466 from manH1397. 18He keepeth backH2820 his soulH5315 from the pitH7845, and his lifeH2416 from perishingH5674 by the swordH7973.

19He is chastenedH3198 also with painH4341 upon his bedH4904, and the multitudeH7230 of his bonesH6106 with strongH0386 pain: 20So that his lifeH2416 abhorrethH2092 breadH3899, and his soulH5315 daintyH8378 meatH3978. 21His fleshH1320 is consumed awayH3615, that it cannot be seenH7210; and his bonesH6106 that were not seenH7200 stick outH8192. 22Yea, his soulH5315 draweth nearH7126 unto the graveH7845, and his lifeH2416 to the destroyersH4191. 23If thereH3426 be a messengerH4397 with him, an interpreterH3887, oneH0259 among a thousandH0505, to shewH5046 unto manH0120 his uprightnessH3476: 24Then he is graciousH2603 unto him, and saithH0559, DeliverH6308 him from going downH3381 to the pitH7845: I have foundH4672 a ransomH3724. 25His fleshH1320 shall be fresherH7375 than a childsH5290: he shall returnH7725 to the daysH3117 of his youthH5934: 26He shall prayH6279 unto GodH0433, and he will be favourableH7521 unto him: and he shall seeH7200 his faceH6440 with joyH8643: for he will renderH7725 unto manH0582 his righteousnessH6666. 27He lookethH7789 upon menH0582, and if any sayH0559, I have sinnedH2398, and pervertedH5753 that which was rightH3477, and it profitedH7737 me not; 28He will deliverH6299 his soulH5315 from goingH5674 into the pitH7845, and his lifeH2416 shall seeH7200 the lightH0216.

29Lo, all these things workethH6466 GodH0410 oftentimesH6471 with manH1397, 30To bring backH7725 his soulH5315 from the pitH7845, to be enlightenedH0215 with the lightH0216 of the livingH2416. 31Mark wellH7181, O JobH0347, hearkenH8085 unto me: hold thy peaceH2790, and I will speakH1696. 32If thou hastH3426 any thing to sayH4405, answerH7725 me: speakH1696, for I desireH2654 to justifyH6663 thee. 33If not, hearkenH8085 unto me: hold thy peaceH2790, and I shall teachH0502 thee wisdomH2451.

Job: Chapter 34

1Furthermore ElihuH0453 answeredH6030 and saidH0559, 2HearH8085 my wordsH4405, O ye wiseH2450 men; and give earH0238 unto me, ye that have knowledgeH3045. 3For the earH0241 triethH0974 wordsH4405, as the mouthH2441 tastethH2938 meatH0398. 4Let us chooseH0977 to us judgmentH4941: let us knowH3045 among ourselves what is goodH2896. 5For JobH0347 hath saidH0559, I am righteousH6663: and GodH0410 hath taken awayH5493 my judgmentH4941. 6Should I lieH3576 against my rightH4941? my woundH2671 is incurableH0605 without transgressionH6588. 7What manH1397 is like JobH0347, who drinketh upH8354 scorningH3933 like waterH4325? 8Which goethH0732 in companyH2274 with the workersH6466 of iniquityH0205, and walkethH3212 with wickedH7562 menH0582. 9For he hath saidH0559, It profitethH5532 a manH1397 nothing that he should delightH7521 himself with GodH0430.

10Therefore hearkenH8085 unto me, ye menH0582 of understandingH3824: far be itH2486 from GodH0410, that he should do wickednessH7562; and from the AlmightyH7706, that he should commit iniquityH5766. 11For the workH6467 of a manH0120 shall he renderH7999 unto him, and cause every manH0376 to findH4672 according to his waysH0734. 12Yea, surelyH0551 GodH0410 will not do wickedlyH7561, neither will the AlmightyH7706 pervertH5791 judgmentH4941. 13Who hath given him a chargeH6485 over the earthH0776? or who hath disposedH7760 the whole worldH8398? 14If he setH7760 his heartH3820 upon man, if he gatherH0622 unto himself his spiritH7307 and his breathH5397; 15All fleshH1320 shall perishH1478 togetherH3162, and manH0120 shall turn againH7725 unto dustH6083.

16If now thou hast understandingH0998, hearH8085 this: hearkenH0238 to the voiceH6963 of my wordsH4405. 17Shall even he that hatethH8130 rightH4941 governH2280? and wilt thou condemnH7561 him that is mostH3524 justH6662? 18 Is it fit to sayH0559 to a kingH4428, Thou art wickedH1100? and to princesH5081, Ye are ungodlyH7563? 19 How much less to him that acceptethH5375 not the personsH6440 of princesH8269, nor regardethH5234 the richH7771 more thanH6440 the poorH1800? for they all are the workH4639 of his handsH3027. 20In a momentH7281 shall they dieH4191, and the peopleH5971 shall be troubledH1607 at midnightH2676, and pass awayH5674: and the mightyH0047 shall be taken awayH5493 without handH3027. 21For his eyesH5869 are upon the waysH1870 of manH0376, and he seethH7200 all his goingsH6806. 22 There is no darknessH2822, nor shadow of deathH6757, where the workersH6466 of iniquityH0205 may hideH5641 themselves. 23For he will not layH7760 upon manH0376 more than right; that he should enterH1980 into judgmentH4941 with GodH0410. 24He shall break in piecesH7489 mighty menH3524 without numberH2714, and setH5975 othersH0312 in their stead. 25Therefore he knowethH5234 their worksH4566, and he overturnethH2015 them in the nightH3915, so that they are destroyedH1792. 26He strikethH5606 them asH8478 wicked menH7563 in the openH4725 sightH7200 of others; 27Because they turned backH5493 from himH0310, and would not considerH7919 any of his waysH1870: 28So that they cause the cryH6818 of the poorH1800 to comeH0935 unto him, and he hearethH8085 the cryH6818 of the afflictedH6041. 29When he giveth quietnessH8252, who then can make troubleH7561? and when he hidethH5641 his faceH6440, who then can beholdH7789 him? whether it be done against a nationH1471, or against a manH0120 onlyH3162: 30That the hypocriteH0120 reignH4427 not, lest the peopleH5971 be ensnaredH4170.

31Surely it is meet to be saidH0559 unto GodH0410, I have borneH5375 chastisement , I will not offendH2254 any more: 32 That which I seeH2372 notH1107 teachH3384 thou me: if I have doneH6466 iniquityH5766, I will doH3254 no more. 33 Should it be according to thy mind? he will recompenseH7999 it, whether thou refuseH3588, or whether thou chooseH0977; and not I: therefore speakH1696 what thou knowestH3045. 34Let menH0582 of understandingH3824 tellH0559 me, and let a wiseH2450 manH1397 hearkenH8085 unto me. 35 JobH0347 hath spokenH1696 without knowledgeH1847, and his wordsH1697 were without wisdomH7919. 36My desireH0015 is that JobH0347 may be triedH0974 unto the endH5331 because of his answersH8666 for wickedH0205 menH0582. 37For he addethH3254 rebellionH6588 unto his sinH2403, he clappethH5606 his hands among us, and multipliethH7235 his wordsH0561 against GodH0410.

Job: Chapter 35

1 ElihuH0453 spakeH6030 moreover, and saidH0559, 2ThinkestH2803 thou this to be rightH4941, that thou saidstH0559, My righteousnessH6664 is more than GodsH0410? 3For thou saidstH0559, What advantageH5532 will it be unto thee? and , What profitH3276 shall I have, if I be cleansed from my sinH2403? 4I will answerH7725 thee, and thy companionsH7453 with thee. 5LookH5027 unto the heavensH8064, and seeH7200; and beholdH7789 the cloudsH7834 which are higherH1361 than thou. 6If thou sinnestH2398, what doestH6466 thou against him? or if thy transgressionsH6588 be multipliedH7231, what doestH6213 thou unto him? 7If thou be righteousH6663, what givestH5414 thou him? or what receivethH3947 he of thine handH3027? 8Thy wickednessH7562 may hurt a manH0376 as thou art; and thy righteousnessH6666 may profit the sonH1121 of manH0120.

9By reason of the multitudeH7230 of oppressionsH6217 they make the oppressed to cryH2199: they cry outH7768 by reason of the armH2220 of the mightyH7227. 10But none saithH0559, Where is GodH0433 my makerH6213, who givethH5414 songsH2158 in the nightH3915; 11Who teachethH0502 us more than the beastsH0929 of the earthH0776, and maketh us wiserH2449 than the fowlsH5775 of heavenH8064? 12There they cryH6817, but none giveth answerH6030, becauseH6440 of the prideH1347 of evil menH7451. 13Surely GodH0410 will not hearH8085 vanityH7723, neither will the AlmightyH7706 regardH7789 it.

14AlthoughH0637 thou sayestH0559 thou shalt not seeH7789 him, yet judgmentH1779 is beforeH6440 him; therefore trustH2342 thou in him. 15But now, because it is not so , he hath visitedH6485 in his angerH0639; yet he knowethH3045 it not in greatH3966 extremityH6580: 16Therefore doth JobH0347 openH6475 his mouthH6310 in vainH1892; he multipliethH3527 wordsH4405 withoutH1097 knowledgeH1847.

Job: Chapter 36

1 ElihuH0453 also proceededH3254, and saidH0559, 2SufferH3803 me a littleH2191, and I will shewH2331 thee that I have yet to speakH4405 on GodsH0433 behalf. 3I will fetchH5375 my knowledgeH1843 from afarH7350, and will ascribeH5414 righteousnessH6664 to my MakerH6466. 4For trulyH0551 my wordsH4405 shall not be falseH8267: he that is perfectH8549 in knowledgeH1844 is with thee.

5Behold, GodH0410 is mightyH3524, and despisethH3988 not any: he is mightyH3524 in strengthH3581 and wisdomH3820. 6He preserveth not the lifeH2421 of the wickedH7563: but givethH5414 rightH4941 to the poorH6041. 7He withdrawethH1639 not his eyesH5869 from the righteousH6662: but with kingsH4428 are they on the throneH3678; yea, he doth establishH3427 them for everH5331, and they are exaltedH1361. 8And if they be boundH0631 in fettersH2131, and be holdenH3920 in cordsH2256 of afflictionH6040; 9Then he shewethH5046 them their workH6467, and their transgressionsH6588 that they have exceededH1396. 10He openethH1540 also their earH0241 to disciplineH4148, and commandethH0559 that they returnH7725 from iniquityH0205. 11If they obeyH8085 and serveH5647 him , they shall spendH3615 their daysH3117 in prosperityH2896, and their yearsH8141 in pleasuresH5273. 12But if they obeyH8085 not, they shall perishH5674 by the swordH7973, and they shall dieH1478 without knowledgeH1847. 13But the hypocritesH2611 in heartH3820 heap upH7760 wrathH0639: they cryH7768 not when he bindethH0631 them. 14TheyH5315 dieH4191 in youthH5290, and their lifeH2416 is among the uncleanH6945.

15He deliverethH2502 the poorH6041 in his afflictionH6040, and openethH1540 their earsH0241 in oppressionH3906. 16Even so would he have removedH5496 thee out of the straitH6310 into a broad placeH7338, whereH8478 there is no straitnessH4164; and that which should be setH5183 on thy tableH7979 should be fullH4390 of fatnessH1880. 17But thou hast fulfilledH4390 the judgmentH1779 of the wickedH7563: judgmentH1779 and justiceH4941 take holdH8551 on thee . 18Because there is wrathH2534, beware lest he take thee awayH5496 with his strokeH5607: then a greatH7230 ransomH3724 cannot deliverH5186 thee. 19Will he esteemH6186 thy richesH7769? no , not goldH1222, nor all the forcesH3981 of strengthH3581. 20DesireH7602 not the nightH3915, when peopleH5971 are cut offH5927 in their place. 21Take heedH8104, regardH6437 not iniquityH0205: for this hast thou chosenH0977 rather than afflictionH6040. 22Behold, GodH0410 exaltethH7682 by his powerH3581: who teachethH3384 like him? 23Who hath enjoinedH6485 him his wayH1870? or who can sayH0559, Thou hast wroughtH6466 iniquityH5766?

24RememberH2142 that thou magnifyH7679 his workH6467, which menH0582 beholdH7891. 25Every manH0120 may seeH2372 it; manH0582 may beholdH5027 it afar offH7350. 26Behold, GodH0410 is greatH7689, and we knowH3045 him not, neither can the numberH4557 of his yearsH8141 be searched outH2714. 27For he maketh smallH1639 the dropsH5198 of waterH4325: they pour downH2212 rainH4306 according to the vapourH0108 thereof: 28Which the cloudsH7834 do dropH5140 and distilH7491 upon manH0120 abundantlyH7227. 29Also can any understandH0995 the spreadingsH4666 of the cloudsH5645, or the noiseH8663 of his tabernacleH5521? 30Behold, he spreadethH6566 his lightH0216 upon it, and coverethH3680 the bottomH8328 of the seaH3220. 31For by them judgethH1777 he the peopleH5971; he givethH5414 meatH0400 in abundanceH4342. 32With cloudsH3709 he coverethH3680 the lightH0216; and commandethH6680 it not to shine by the cloud that cometh betwixtH6293. 33The noiseH7452 thereof shewethH5046 concerning it, the cattleH4735 also concerning the vapourH5927.

Job: Chapter 37

1At thisH2063 also my heartH3820 tremblethH2729, and is moved outH5425 of his placeH4725. 2HearH8085 attentivelyH8085 the noiseH7267 of his voiceH6963, and the soundH1899 that goeth outH3318 of his mouthH6310. 3He directethH3474 itH8281 under the whole heavenH8064, and his lightningH0216 unto the endsH3671 of the earthH0776. 4AfterH0310 it a voiceH6963 roarethH7580: he thunderethH7481 with the voiceH6963 of his excellencyH1347; and he will not stayH6117 them when his voiceH6963 is heardH8085. 5GodH0410 thunderethH7481 marvellouslyH6381 with his voiceH6963; great thingsH1419 doethH6213 he, which we cannot comprehendH3045.

6For he saithH0559 to the snowH7950, Be thouH1933 on the earthH0776; likewise to the smallH4306 rainH1653, and to the greatH4306 rainH1653 of his strengthH5797. 7He sealeth upH2856 the handH3027 of every manH0120; that all menH0582 may knowH3045 his workH4639. 8Then the beastsH2416 goH0935 intoH1119 densH0695, and remainH7931 in their placesH4585. 9Out of the southH2315 comethH0935 the whirlwindH5492: and coldH7135 out of the northH4215. 10By the breathH5397 of GodH0410 frostH7140 is givenH5414: and the breadthH7341 of the watersH4325 is straitenedH4164. 11Also by wateringH7377 he weariethH2959 the thick cloudH5645: he scatterethH6327 his brightH0216 cloudH6051: 12And it is turnedH2015 round aboutH4524 by his counselsH8458: that they may doH6467 whatsoever he commandethH6680 them upon the faceH6440 of the worldH8398 in the earthH0776. 13He causeth it to comeH4672, whether for correctionH7626, or for his landH0776, or for mercyH2617.

14HearkenH0238 unto this, O JobH0347: stand stillH5975, and considerH0995 the wondrousH6381 works of GodH0410. 15Dost thou knowH3045 when GodH0433 disposedH7760 them, and caused the lightH0216 of his cloudH6051 to shineH3313? 16Dost thou knowH3045 the balancingsH4657 of the cloudsH5645, the wondrous worksH4652 of him which is perfectH8549 in knowledgeH1843? 17How thy garmentsH0899 are warmH2525, when he quietethH8252 the earthH0776 by the southH1864 wind ? 18Hast thou with him spread outH7554 the skyH7834, which is strongH2389, and as a moltenH3332 looking glassH7209? 19TeachH3045 us what we shall sayH0559 unto him; for we cannot orderH6186 our speech by reasonH6440 of darknessH2822. 20Shall it be toldH5608 him that I speakH1696? if a manH0376 speakH0559, surely he shall be swallowed upH1104.

21And now men seeH7200 not the brightH0925 lightH0216 which is in the cloudsH7834: but the windH7307 passethH5674, and cleansethH2891 them. 22Fair weatherH2091 comethH0857 out of the northH6828: with GodH0433 is terribleH3372 majestyH1935. 23 Touching the AlmightyH7706, we cannot find him outH4672: he is excellentH7689 in powerH3581, and in judgmentH4941, and in plentyH7230 of justiceH6666: he will not afflictH6031. 24MenH0582 do therefore fearH3372 him: he respectethH7200 not any that are wiseH2450 of heartH3820.

Job: Chapter 38

1Then the LORDH3068 answeredH6030 JobH0347 out of the whirlwindH5591, and saidH0559, 2Who is this that darkenethH2821 counselH6098 by wordsH4405 without knowledgeH1847? 3Gird upH0247 now thy loinsH2504 like a manH1397; for I will demandH7592 of thee, and answerH3045 thou me.

4WhereH0375 wast thou when I laid the foundationsH3245 of the earthH0776? declareH5046, if thou hastH3045 understandingH0998. 5Who hath laidH7760 the measuresH4461 thereof, if thou knowestH3045? or who hath stretchedH5186 the lineH6957 upon it? 6Whereupon are the foundationsH0134 thereof fastenedH2883? or who laidH3384 the cornerH6438 stoneH0068 thereof; 7When the morningH1242 starsH3556 sangH7442 togetherH3162, and all the sonsH1121 of GodH0430 shoutedH7321 for joy? 8Or who shut upH5526 the seaH3220 with doorsH1817, when it brake forthH1518, as if it had issued outH3318 of the wombH7358? 9When I madeH7760 the cloudH6051 the garmentH3830 thereof, and thick darknessH6205 a swaddlingbandH2854 for it, 10And brake upH7665 for it my decreedH2706 place , and setH7760 barsH1280 and doorsH1817, 11And saidH0559, HithertoH5704 shalt thou comeH0935, but no furtherH3254: and here shall thy proudH1347 wavesH1530 be stayedH7896?

12Hast thou commandedH6680 the morningH1242 since thy daysH3117; and caused the dayspringH7837 to knowH3045 his placeH4725; 13That it might take holdH0270 of the endsH3671 of the earthH0776, that the wickedH7563 might be shaken outH5287 of it? 14It is turnedH2015 as clayH2563 to the sealH2368; and they standH3320 as a garmentH3830. 15And from the wickedH7563 their lightH0216 is withholdenH4513, and the highH7311 armH2220 shall be brokenH7665. 16Hast thou enteredH0935 into the springsH5033 of the seaH3220? or hast thou walkedH1980 in the searchH2714 of the depthH8415? 17Have the gatesH8179 of deathH4194 been openedH1540 unto thee? or hast thou seenH7200 the doorsH8179 of the shadow of deathH6757? 18Hast thou perceivedH0995 the breadthH7338 of the earthH0776? declareH5046 if thou knowestH3045 it all. 19Where is the wayH1870 where lightH0216 dwellethH7931? and as for darknessH2822, where is the placeH4725 thereof, 20That thou shouldest takeH3947 it to the boundH1366 thereof, and that thou shouldest knowH0995 the pathsH5410 to the houseH1004 thereof? 21KnowestH3045 thou it , because thou wast then bornH3205? or because the numberH4557 of thy daysH3117 is greatH7227? 22Hast thou enteredH0935 into the treasuresH0214 of the snowH7950? or hast thou seenH7200 the treasuresH0214 of the hailH1259, 23Which I have reservedH2820 against the timeH6256 of troubleH6862, against the dayH3117 of battleH7128 and warH4421? 24By whatH0335 wayH1870 is the lightH0216 partedH2505, which scatterethH6327 the east windH6921 upon the earthH0776?

25Who hath dividedH6385 a watercourseH8585 for the overflowing of watersH7858, or a wayH1870 for the lightningH2385 of thunderH6963; 26To cause it to rainH4305 on the earthH0776, where no manH0376 is; on the wildernessH4057, wherein there is no manH0120; 27To satisfyH7646 the desolateH7722 and wasteH4875 ground; and to cause the budH4161 of the tender herbH1877 to spring forthH6779? 28HathH3426 the rainH4306 a fatherH0001? or who hath begottenH3205 the dropsH0096 of dewH2919? 29Out of whose wombH0990 cameH3318 the iceH7140? and the hoary frostH3713 of heavenH8064, who hath genderedH3205 it? 30The watersH4325 are hidH2244 as is);"> with a stoneH0068, and the faceH6440 of the deepH8415 is frozenH3920.
31Canst thou bindH7194 the sweet influencesH4575 of PleiadesH3598, or looseH6605 the bandsH4189 of OrionH3685? 32Canst thou bring forthH3318 MazzarothH4216 in his seasonH6256? or canst thou guideH5148 ArcturusH5906 with his sonsH1121? 33KnowestH3045 thou the ordinancesH2708 of heavenH8064? canst thou setH7760 the dominionH4896 thereof in the earthH0776? 34Canst thou lift upH7311 thy voiceH6963 to the cloudsH5645, that abundanceH8229 of watersH4325 may coverH3680 thee? 35Canst thou sendH7971 lightningsH1300, that they may goH3212, and sayH0559 unto thee, Here we are ? 36Who hath putH7896 wisdomH2451 in the inward partsH2910? or who hath givenH5414 understandingH0998 to the heartH7907? 37Who can numberH5608 the cloudsH7834 in wisdomH2451? or who can stayH7901 the bottlesH5035 of heavenH8064, 38When the dustH6083 growethH3332 into hardnessH4165, and the clodsH7263 cleave fast togetherH1692? 39Wilt thou huntH6679 the preyH2964 for the lionH3833? or fillH4390 the appetiteH2416 of the young lionsH3715, 40When they couchH7817 in their densH4585, and abideH3427 in the covertH5521 toH3926 lie in waitH0695? 41Who providethH3559 for the ravenH6158 his foodH6718? when his young onesH3206 cryH7768 unto GodH0410, they wanderH8582 for lackH1097 of meatH0400.

Job: Chapter 39

1KnowestH3045 thou the timeH6256 when the wild goatsH3277 of the rockH5553 bring forthH3205? or canst thou markH8104 when the hindsH0355 do calveH2342? 2Canst thou numberH5608 the monthsH3391 that they fulfilH4390? or knowestH3045 thou the timeH6256 when they bring forthH3205? 3They bowH3766 themselves, they bring forthH6398 their young onesH3206, they cast outH7971 their sorrowsH2256. 4Their young onesH1121 are in good likingH2492, they grow upH7235 with cornH1250; they go forthH3318, and returnH7725 not unto them. 5Who hath sent outH7971 the wild assH6501 freeH2670? or who hath loosedH6605 the bandsH4147 of the wild assH6171? 6Whose houseH1004 I have madeH7760 the wildernessH6160, and the barrenH4420 land his dwellingsH4908. 7He scornethH7832 the multitudeH1995 of the cityH7151, neither regardethH8085 he the cryingH8663 of the driverH5065. 8The rangeH3491 of the mountainsH2022 is his pastureH4829, and he searchethH1875 afterH0310 every green thingH3387. 9Will the unicornH7214 be willingH0014 to serveH5647 thee, or abideH3885 by thy cribH0018? 10Canst thou bindH7194 the unicornH7214 with his bandH5688 in the furrowH8525? or will he harrowH7702 the valleysH6010 afterH0310 thee? 11Wilt thou trustH0982 him, because his strengthH3581 is greatH7227? or wilt thou leaveH5800 thy labourH3018 to him? 12Wilt thou believeH0539 him, that he will bring homeH7725 thy seedH2233, and gatherH0622 it into thy barnH1637?

13 Gavest thou the goodlyH7443 wingsH3671 unto the peacocksH5965? or wingsH0084 and feathersH2624 unto the ostrichH5133? 14Which leavethH5800 her eggsH1000 in the earthH0776, and warmethH2552 them in dustH6083, 15And forgettethH7911 that the footH7272 may crushH2115 them, or that the wildH7704 beastH2416 may breakH1758 them. 16She is hardenedH7188 against her young onesH1121, as though they were notH3808 hers: her labourH3018 is in vainH7385 without fearH6343; 17Because GodH0433 hath deprivedH5382 her of wisdomH2451, neither hath he impartedH2505 to her understandingH0998. 18What timeH6256 she lifteth upH4754 herself on highH4791, she scornethH7832 the horseH5483 and his riderH7392.

19Hast thou givenH5414 the horseH5483 strengthH1369? hast thou clothedH3847 his neckH6677 with thunderH7483? 20Canst thou make him afraidH7493 as a grasshopperH0697? the gloryH1935 of his nostrilsH5170 is terribleH0367. 21He pawethH2658 in the valleyH6010, and rejoicethH7797 in his strengthH3581: he goeth onH3318 to meetH7125 the armed menH5402. 22He mockethH7832 at fearH6343, and is not affrightedH2865; neither turneth he backH7725 fromH6440 the swordH2719. 23The quiverH0827 rattlethH7439 against him, the glitteringH3851 spearH2595 and the shieldH3591. 24He swallowethH1572 the groundH0776 with fiercenessH7494 and rageH7267: neither believethH0539 he that it is the soundH6963 of the trumpetH7782. 25He saithH0559 amongH1767 the trumpetsH7782, HaH1889, haH1889; and he smellethH7306 the battleH4421 afar offH7350, the thunderH7482 of the captainsH8269, and the shoutingH8643.

26Doth the hawkH5322 flyH0082 by thy wisdomH0998, and stretchH6566 her wingsH3671 toward the southH8486? 27Doth the eagleH5404 mount upH1361 at thy commandH6310, and makeH7311 her nestH7064 on highH7311? 28She dwellethH7931 and abidethH3885 on the rockH5553, upon the cragH8127 of the rockH5553, and the strong placeH4686. 29From thence she seekethH2658 the preyH0400, and her eyesH5869 beholdH5027 afar offH7350. 30Her young onesH0667 also suck upH5966 bloodH1818: and where the slainH2491 are , there is sheH1931.

Job: Chapter 40

1Moreover the LORDH3068 answeredH6030 JobH0347, and saidH0559, 2Shall he that contendethH7378 with the AlmightyH7706 instructH3250 him ? he that reprovethH3198 GodH0433, let him answerH6030 it.

3Then JobH0347 answeredH6030 the LORDH3068, and saidH0559, 4Behold, I am vileH7043; what shall I answerH7725 thee? I will layH7760 mine handH3027 uponH3926 my mouthH6310. 5OnceH0259 have I spokenH1696; but I will not answerH6030: yea, twiceH8147; but I will proceed no furtherH3254.

6Then answeredH6030 the LORDH3068 unto JobH0347 out of the whirlwindH5591, and saidH0559, 7Gird upH0247 thy loinsH2504 now like a manH1397: I will demandH7592 of thee, and declareH3045 thou unto me. 8Wilt thou also disannulH6565 my judgmentH4941? wilt thou condemnH7561 me, that thou mayest be righteousH6663? 9Hast thou an armH2220 like GodH0410? or canst thou thunderH7481 with a voiceH6963 like him? 10DeckH5710 thyself now with majestyH1347 and excellencyH1363; and arrayH3847 thyself with gloryH1935 and beautyH1926. 11Cast abroadH6327 the rageH5678 of thy wrathH0639: and beholdH7200 every one that is proudH1343, and abaseH8213 him. 12LookH7200 on every one that is proudH1343, and bring him lowH3665; and tread downH1915 the wickedH7563 in their place. 13HideH2934 them in the dustH6083 togetherH3162; and bindH2280 their facesH6440 in secretH2934. 14Then will I also confessH3034 unto thee that thine own right handH3225 can saveH3467 thee.

15Behold now behemothH0930, which I madeH6213 with thee; he eatethH0398 grassH2682 as an oxH1241. 16Lo now, his strengthH3581 is in his loinsH4975, and his forceH0202 is in the navelH8306 of his bellyH0990. 17He movethH2654 his tailH2180 like a cedarH0730: the sinewsH1517 of his stonesH6344 are wrapped togetherH8276. 18His bonesH6106 are as strongH0650 pieces of brassH5154; his bonesH1634 are like barsH4300 of ironH1270. 19He is the chiefH7225 of the waysH1870 of GodH0410: he that madeH6213 him can makeH5066 his swordH2719 to approachH5066 unto him . 20Surely the mountainsH2022 bring him forthH5375 foodH0944, where all the beastsH2416 of the fieldH7704 playH7832. 21He liethH7901 under the shady treesH6628, in the covertH5643 of the reedH7070, and fensH1207. 22The shady treesH6628 coverH5526 him with their shadowH6752; the willowsH6155 of the brookH5158 compass him aboutH5437. 23Behold, he drinketh upH6231 a riverH5104, and hastethH2648 not: he trustethH0982 that he can draw upH1518 JordanH3383 into his mouthH6310. 24He takethH3947 it with his eyesH5869: his noseH0639 pierceth throughH5344 snaresH4170.

Job: Chapter 41

1Canst thou draw outH4900 leviathanH3882 with an hookH2443? or his tongueH3956 with a cordH2256 which thou lettest downH8257? 2Canst thou putH7760 an hookH0100 into his noseH0639? or boreH5344 his jawH3895 through with a thornH2336? 3Will he make manyH7235 supplicationsH8469 unto thee? will he speakH1696 softH7390 words unto thee? 4Will he makeH3772 a covenantH1285 with thee? wilt thou takeH3947 him for a servantH5650 for everH5769? 5Wilt thou playH7832 with him as with a birdH6833? or wilt thou bindH7194 him for thy maidensH5291? 6Shall the companionsH2271 make a banquetH3739 of him? shall they partH2673 him among the merchantsH3669? 7Canst thou fillH4390 his skinH5785 with barbed ironsH7905? or his headH7218 with fishH1709 spearsH6767? 8LayH7760 thine handH3709 upon him, rememberH2142 the battleH4421, do no moreH3254. 9Behold, the hopeH8431 of him is in vainH3576: shall not one be cast downH2904 even at the sightH4758 of him? 10None is so fierceH0393 that dare stir him upH5782: who then is able to standH3320 beforeH6440 me?

11Who hath preventedH6923 me, that I should repayH7999 him? whatsoever is under the whole heavenH8064 is mine. 12I will not concealH2790 his partsH0907, nor his powerH1369, nor his comelyH2433 proportionH6187. 13Who can discoverH1540 the faceH6440 of his garmentH3830? or who can comeH0935 to him with his doubleH3718 bridleH7448? 14Who can openH6605 the doorsH1817 of his faceH6440? his teethH8127 are terribleH0367 round aboutH5439. 15 His scalesH4043 are his prideH1346, shut up togetherH5462 as with a closeH6862 sealH2368. 16OneH0259 is so nearH5066 to anotherH0259, that no airH7307 can comeH0935 between them. 17They are joinedH1692 oneH0376 to anotherH0251, they stick togetherH3920, that they cannot be sunderedH6504. 18By his neesingsH5846 a lightH0216 doth shineH1984, and his eyesH5869 are like the eyelidsH6079 of the morningH7837. 19Out of his mouthH6310 goH1980 burning lampsH3940, and sparksH3590 of fireH0784 leap outH4422. 20Out of his nostrilsH5156 goethH3318 smokeH6227, as out of a seethingH5301 potH1731 or caldronH0100. 21His breathH5315 kindlethH3857 coalsH1513, and a flameH3851 goeth outH3318 of his mouthH6310. 22In his neckH6677 remainethH3885 strengthH5797, and sorrowH1670 is turned into joyH1750 beforeH6440 him. 23The flakesH4651 of his fleshH1320 are joined togetherH1692: they are firmH3332 in themselves; they cannot be movedH4131. 24His heartH3820 is as firmH3332 as a stoneH0068; yea, as hardH3332 as a pieceH6400 of the netherH8482 millstone . 25When he raiseth upH7613 himself, the mightyH0352 are afraidH1481: by reason of breakingsH7667 they purifyH2398 themselves. 26The swordH2719 of him that layethH5381 at him cannot holdH6965: the spearH2595, the dartH4551, nor the habergeonH8302. 27He esteemethH2803 ironH1270 as strawH8401, and brassH5154 as rottenH7539 woodH6086. 28The arrowH1121 cannot make him fleeH1272: slingstonesH0068 are turnedH2015 with him into stubbleH7179. 29DartsH8455 are countedH2803 as stubbleH7179: he laughethH7832 at the shakingH7494 of a spearH3591. 30SharpH2303 stonesH2789 are under him: he spreadethH7502 sharp pointed thingsH2742 upon the mireH2916. 31He maketh the deepH4688 to boilH7570 like a potH5518: he makethH7760 the seaH3220 like a pot of ointmentH4841. 32He maketh a pathH5410 to shineH0215 afterH0310 him; one would thinkH2803 the deepH8415 to be hoaryH7872. 33Upon earthH6083 there is not his likeH4915, who is madeH6213 withoutH1097 fearH2844. 34He beholdethH7200 all highH1364 things: he is a kingH4428 over all the childrenH1121 of prideH7830.

Job: Chapter 42

1Then JobH0347 answeredH6030 the LORDH3068, and saidH0559, 2I knowH3045 that thou canst doH3201 every thing , and that no thoughtH4209 can be withholdenH1219 from thee. 3Who is he that hidethH5956 counselH6098 without knowledgeH1847? therefore have I utteredH5046 that I understoodH0995 not; things too wonderfulH6381 for me, which I knewH3045 not. 4HearH8085, I beseech thee, and I will speakH1696: I will demandH7592 of thee, and declareH3045 thou unto me. 5I have heardH8085 of thee by the hearingH8088 of the earH0241: but now mine eyeH5869 seethH7200 thee. 6Wherefore I abhorH3988 myself , and repentH5162 in dustH6083 and ashesH0665.

7And it was so , that afterH0310 the LORDH3068 had spokenH1696 these wordsH1697 unto JobH0347, the LORDH3068 saidH0559 to EliphazH0464 the TemaniteH8489, My wrathH0639 is kindledH2734 against thee, and against thy twoH8147 friendsH7453: for ye have not spokenH1696 of me the thing that is rightH3559, as my servantH5650 JobH0347 hath . 8Therefore takeH3947 unto you now sevenH7651 bullocksH6499 and sevenH7651 ramsH0352, and goH3212 to my servantH5650 JobH0347, and offer upH5927 for yourselves a burnt offeringH5930; and my servantH5650 JobH0347 shall prayH6419 for you: for himH6440 will I acceptH5375: lest I dealH6213 with you after your follyH5039, in that ye have not spokenH1696 of me the thing which is rightH3559, like my servantH5650 JobH0347. 9So EliphazH0464 the TemaniteH8489 and BildadH1085 the ShuhiteH7747 and ZopharH6691 the NaamathiteH5284 wentH3212, and didH6213 according as the LORDH3068 commandedH1696 them: the LORDH3068 also acceptedH5375 JobH6440.

10And the LORDH3068 turnedH7725 the captivityH7622 of JobH0347, when he prayedH6419 for his friendsH7453: also the LORDH3068 gaveH3254 JobH0347 twice as muchH4932 as he had before. 11Then cameH0935 there unto him all his brethrenH0251, and all his sistersH0269, and all they that had been of his acquaintanceH3045 beforeH6440, and did eatH0398 breadH3899 with him in his houseH1004: and they bemoanedH5110 him, and comfortedH5162 him over all the evilH7451 that the LORDH3068 had broughtH0935 upon him: every manH0376 also gaveH5414 him aH0259 piece of moneyH7192, and every oneH0376 an earringH5141 of goldH2091. 12So the LORDH3068 blessedH1288 the latter endH0319 of JobH0347 more than his beginningH7225: for he had fourteenH0702 thousandH0505 sheepH6629, and sixH8337 thousandH0505 camelsH1581, and a thousandH0505 yokeH6776 of oxenH1241, and a thousandH0505 she assesH0860. 13He had also sevenH7658 sonsH1121 and threeH7969 daughtersH1323. 14And he calledH7121 the nameH8034 of the firstH0259, JemimaH3224; and the nameH8034 of the secondH8145, KeziaH7103; and the nameH8034 of the thirdH7992, Keren-happuchH7163. 15And in all the landH0776 were no womenH0802 foundH4672 so fairH3303 as the daughtersH1323 of JobH0347: and their fatherH0001 gaveH5414 them inheritanceH5159 amongH8432 their brethrenH0251. 16AfterH0310 this livedH2421 JobH0347 an hundredH3967 and fortyH0705 yearsH8141, and sawH7200 his sonsH1121, and his sonsH1121 sonsH1121, even fourH0702 generationsH1755. 17So JobH0347 diedH4191, being oldH2205 and fullH7649 of daysH3117.
