Deuteronomy: Chapter 1

1These be the wordsH1697 which MosesH4872 spakeH1696 unto all IsraelH3478 on this sideH5676 JordanH3383 in the wildernessH4057, in the plainH6160 over againstH4136 the RedH5489 sea , between ParanH6290, and TophelH8603, and LabanH3837, and HazerothH2698, and DizahabH1774. 2( There are elevenH0259 daysH3117 journey from HorebH2722 by the wayH1870 of mountH2022 SeirH8165 unto Kadesh-barneaH6947.) 3And it came to pass in the fortiethH0705 yearH8141, in the eleventhH6249 monthH2320, on the firstH0259 day of the monthH2320, that MosesH4872 spakeH1696 unto the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478, according unto all that the LORDH3068 had given him in commandmentH6680 unto them; 4AfterH0310 he had slainH5221 SihonH5511 the kingH4428 of the AmoritesH0567, which dweltH3427 in HeshbonH2809, and OgH5747 the kingH4428 of BashanH1316, which dweltH3427 at AstarothH6252 in EdreiH0154: 5On this sideH5676 JordanH3383, in the landH0776 of MoabH4124, beganH2974 MosesH4872 to declareH0874 this lawH8451, sayingH0559, 6The LORDH3068 our GodH0430 spakeH1696 unto us in HorebH2722, sayingH0559, Ye have dweltH3427 long enoughH7227 in this mountH2022: 7TurnH6437 you, and take your journeyH5265, and goH0935 to the mountH2022 of the AmoritesH0567, and unto all the places nighH7934 thereunto, in the plainH6160, in the hillsH2022, and in the valeH8219, and in the southH5045, and by the seaH3220 sideH2348, to the landH0776 of the CanaanitesH3669, and unto LebanonH3844, unto the greatH1419 riverH5104, the riverH5104 EuphratesH6578. 8BeholdH7200, I have setH5414 the landH0776 beforeH6440 you: goH0935 in and possessH3423 the landH0776 which the LORDH3068 swareH7650 unto your fathersH0001, AbrahamH0085, IsaacH3327, and JacobH3290, to giveH5414 unto them and to their seedH2233 afterH0310 them.

9And I spakeH0559 unto you at that timeH6256, sayingH0559, I am not ableH3201 to bearH5375 you myself aloneH0905: 10The LORDH3068 your GodH0430 hath multipliedH7235 you, and, behold, ye are this dayH3117 as the starsH3556 of heavenH8064 for multitudeH7230. 11(The LORDH3068 GodH0430 of your fathersH0001 make you a thousandH0505 timesH6471 so many more asH3254 ye are , and blessH1288 you, as he hath promisedH1696 you!) 12HowH0349 can I myself alone bearH5375 your cumbranceH2960, and your burdenH4853, and your strifeH7379? 13TakeH3051 you wiseH2450 menH0582, and understandingH0995, and knownH3045 among your tribesH7626, and I will makeH7760 them rulersH7218 over you. 14And ye answeredH6030 me, and saidH0559, The thingH1697 which thou hast spokenH1696 is goodH2896 for us to doH6213. 15So I tookH3947 the chiefH7218 of your tribesH7626, wiseH2450 menH0582, and knownH3045, and madeH5414 them headsH7218 over you, captainsH8269 over thousandsH0505, and captainsH8269 over hundredsH3967, and captainsH8269 over fiftiesH2572, and captainsH8269 over tensH6235, and officersH7860 among your tribesH7626. 16And I chargedH6680 your judgesH8199 at that timeH6256, sayingH0559, HearH8085 the causes between your brethrenH0251, and judgeH8199 righteouslyH6664 between every manH0376 and his brotherH0251, and the strangerH1616 that is with him. 17Ye shall not respectH5234 personsH6440 in judgmentH4941; but ye shall hearH8085 the smallH6996 as well as the greatH1419; ye shall not be afraidH1481 of the faceH6440 of manH0376; for the judgmentH4941 is GodsH0430: and the causeH1697 that is too hardH7185 for you, bringH7126 it unto me, and I will hearH8085 it. 18And I commandedH6680 you at that timeH6256 all the thingsH1697 which ye should doH6213.

19And when we departedH5265 from HorebH2722, we went throughH3212 all that greatH1419 and terribleH3372 wildernessH4057, which ye sawH7200 by the wayH1870 of the mountainH2022 of the AmoritesH0567, as the LORDH3068 our GodH0430 commandedH6680 us; and we cameH0935 to Kadesh-barneaH6947. 20And I saidH0559 unto you, Ye are comeH0935 unto the mountainH2022 of the AmoritesH0567, which the LORDH3068 our GodH0430 doth giveH5414 unto us. 21BeholdH7200, the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 hath setH5414 the landH0776 beforeH6440 thee: go upH5927 and possessH3423 it , as the LORDH3068 GodH0430 of thy fathersH0001 hath saidH1696 unto thee; fearH3372 not, neither be discouragedH2865.

22And ye came nearH7126 unto me every one of you, and saidH0559, We will sendH7971 menH0582 beforeH6440 us, and they shall search us outH2658 the landH0776, and bringH7725 us wordH1697 againH7725 by what wayH1870 we must go upH5927, and into what citiesH5892 we shall comeH0935. 23And the sayingH1697 pleased me wellH3190: and I tookH3947 twelveH8147 menH0582 of you, oneH0259 of a tribeH0376: 24And they turnedH6437 and went upH5927 into the mountainH2022, and cameH0935 unto the valleyH5158 of EshcolH0812, and searched it outH7270. 25And they tookH3947 of the fruitH6529 of the landH0776 in their handsH3027, and brought it downH3381 unto us, and broughtH7725 us wordH1697 againH7725, and saidH0559, It is a goodH2896 landH0776 which the LORDH3068 our GodH0430 doth giveH5414 us. 26Notwithstanding ye wouldH0014 not go upH5927, but rebelledH4784 against the commandmentH6310 of the LORDH3068 your GodH0430: 27And ye murmuredH7279 in your tentsH0168, and saidH0559, Because the LORDH3068 hatedH8135 us, he hath brought us forthH3318 out of the landH0776 of EgyptH4714, to deliverH5414 us into the handH3027 of the AmoritesH0567, to destroyH8045 us. 28Whither shall we go upH5927? our brethrenH0251 have discouragedH4549 our heartH3824, sayingH0559, The peopleH5971 is greaterH1419 and tallerH7311 than we; the citiesH5892 are greatH1419 and walled upH1219 to heavenH8064; and moreover we have seenH7200 the sonsH1121 of the AnakimsH6062 there. 29Then I saidH0559 unto you, DreadH6206 not, neither be afraidH3372 of them. 30The LORDH3068 your GodH0430 which goethH1980 beforeH6440 you, he shall fightH3898 for you, according to all that he didH6213 for you in EgyptH4714 before your eyesH5869; 31And in the wildernessH4057, where thou hast seenH7200 how that the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 bareH5375 thee, as a manH0376 doth bearH5375 his sonH1121, in all the wayH1870 that ye wentH1980, until ye cameH0935 into this placeH4725. 32Yet in this thingH1697 ye did not believeH0539 the LORDH3068 your GodH0430, 33Who wentH1980 in the wayH1870 beforeH6440 you, to search you outH8446 a placeH4725 to pitch your tentsH2583 in , in fireH0784 by nightH3915, to shewH7200 you by what wayH1870 ye should goH3212, and in a cloudH6051 by dayH3119. 34And the LORDH3068 heardH8085 the voiceH6963 of your wordsH1697, and was wrothH7107, and swareH7650, sayingH0559, 35Surely there shall not oneH0376 of these menH0582 of this evilH7451 generationH1755 seeH7200 that goodH2896 landH0776, which I swareH7650 to giveH5414 unto your fathersH0001, 36SaveH2108 CalebH3612 the sonH1121 of JephunnehH3312; he shall seeH7200 it, and to him will I giveH5414 the landH0776 thatH0834 he hath trodden uponH1869, and to his childrenH1121, because he hath whollyH4390 followedH0310 the LORDH3068. 37Also the LORDH3068 was angryH0599 with me for your sakesH1558, sayingH0559, Thou also shalt not goH0935 in thitherH8033. 38 But JoshuaH3091 the sonH1121 of NunH5126, which standethH5975 beforeH6440 thee, he shall go inH0935 thither: encourageH2388 him: for he shall cause IsraelH3478 to inheritH5157 it. 39Moreover your little onesH2945, which ye saidH0559 should be a preyH0957, and your childrenH1121, which in that dayH3117 had no knowledgeH3045 between goodH2896 and evilH7451, they shall go inH0935 thither, and unto them will I giveH5414 it, and they shall possessH3423 it. 40But as for you, turnH6437 you, and take your journeyH5265 into the wildernessH4057 by the wayH1870 of the RedH5488 seaH3220. 41Then ye answeredH6030 and saidH0559 unto me, We have sinnedH2398 against the LORDH3068, we will go upH5927 and fightH3898, according to all that the LORDH3068 our GodH0430 commandedH6680 us. And when ye had girdedH2296 on every manH0376 his weaponsH3627 of warH4421, ye were readyH1951 to go upH5927 into the hillH2022. 42And the LORDH3068 saidH0559 unto me, SayH0559 unto them, Go not upH5927, neither fightH3898; for I am not amongH7130 you; lest ye be smittenH5062 beforeH6440 your enemiesH0341. 43So I spakeH1696 unto you; and ye would not hearH8085, but rebelledH4784 against the commandmentH6310 of the LORDH3068, and wentH5927 presumptuouslyH2102 upH5927 into the hillH2022. 44And the AmoritesH0567, which dweltH3427 in that mountainH2022, came outH3318 againstH7125 you, and chasedH7291 you, as beesH1682 doH6213, and destroyedH3807 you in SeirH8165, even unto HormahH2767. 45And ye returnedH7725 and weptH1058 beforeH6440 the LORDH3068; but the LORDH3068 would not hearkenH8085 to your voiceH6963, nor give earH0238 unto you. 46So ye abodeH3427 in KadeshH6946 manyH7227 daysH3117, according unto the daysH3117 that ye abodeH3427 there .

Deuteronomy: Chapter 2

1Then we turnedH6437, and took our journeyH5265 into the wildernessH4057 by the wayH1870 of the RedH5488 seaH3220, as the LORDH3068 spakeH1696 unto me: and we compassedH5437 mountH2022 SeirH8165 manyH7227 daysH3117. 2And the LORDH3068 spakeH0559 unto me, sayingH0559, 3Ye have compassedH5437 this mountainH2022 long enoughH7227: turnH6437 you northwardH6828. 4And commandH6680 thou the peopleH5971, sayingH0559, Ye are to passH5674 through the coastH1366 of your brethrenH0251 the childrenH1121 of EsauH6215, which dwellH3427 in SeirH8165; and they shall be afraidH3372 of you: take ye goodH3966 heedH8104 unto yourselves therefore: 5MeddleH1624 not with them; for I will not giveH5414 you of their landH0776, no, not so much as a footH7272 breadthH4096; because I have givenH5414 mountH2022 SeirH8165 unto EsauH6215 for a possessionH3425. 6Ye shall buyH7666 meatH0400 of them for moneyH3701, that ye may eatH0398; and ye shall also buyH3739 waterH4325 of them for moneyH3701, that ye may drinkH8354. 7For the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 hath blessedH1288 thee in all the worksH4639 of thy handH3027: he knowethH3045 thy walkingH3212 through this greatH1419 wildernessH4057: these fortyH0705 yearsH8141 the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 hath been with thee; thou hast lackedH2637 nothingH1697.

8And when we passedH5674 by from our brethrenH0251 the childrenH1121 of EsauH6215, which dweltH3427 in SeirH8165, through the wayH1870 of the plainH6160 from ElathH0359, and from Ezion-gaberH6100, we turnedH6437 and passedH5674 by the wayH1870 of the wildernessH4057 of MoabH4124. 9And the LORDH3068 saidH0559 unto me, DistressH6696 not the MoabitesH4124, neither contendH1624 with them in battleH4421: for I will not giveH5414 thee of their landH0776 for a possessionH3425; because I have givenH5414 ArH6144 unto the childrenH1121 of LotH3876 for a possessionH3425. 10The EmimsH0368 dweltH3427 therein in times pastH6440, a peopleH5971 greatH1419, and manyH7227, and tallH7311, as the AnakimsH6062; 11WhichH1992 also were accountedH2803 giantsH7497, as the AnakimsH6062; but the MoabitesH4125 callH7121 them EmimsH0368. 12The HorimsH2752 also dweltH3427 in SeirH8165 beforetimeH6440; but the childrenH1121 of EsauH6215 succeededH3423 them, when they had destroyedH8045 them from beforeH6440 them, and dweltH3427 in their stead; as IsraelH3478 didH6213 unto the landH0776 of his possessionH3425, which the LORDH3068 gaveH5414 unto them. 13Now rise upH6965, said I , and get you overH5674 the brookH5158 ZeredH2218. And we went overH5674 the brookH5158 ZeredH2218. 14And the spaceH3117 in which we cameH1980 from Kadesh-barneaH6947, until we were come overH5674 the brookH5158 ZeredH2218, was thirtyH7970 and eightH8083 yearsH8141; until all the generationH1755 of the menH0582 of warH4421 were wasted outH8552 from amongH7130 the hostH4264, as the LORDH3068 swareH7650 unto them. 15For indeed the handH3027 of the LORDH3068 was against them, to destroyH2000 them from amongH7130 the hostH4264, until they were consumedH8552.

16So it came to pass, when all the menH0582 of warH4421 were consumedH8552 and deadH4191 from amongH7130 the peopleH5971, 17That the LORDH3068 spakeH1696 unto me, sayingH0559, 18Thou art to pass overH5674 through ArH6144, the coastH1366 of MoabH4124, this dayH3117: 19And when thou comest nighH7126 over againstH4136 the childrenH1121 of AmmonH5983, distressH6696 them not, nor meddleH1624 with them: for I will not giveH5414 thee of the landH0776 of the childrenH1121 of AmmonH5983 any possessionH3425; because I have givenH5414 it unto the childrenH1121 of LotH3876 for a possessionH3425. 20(That also was accountedH2803 a landH0776 of giantsH7497: giantsH7497 dweltH3427 therein in old timeH6440; and the AmmonitesH5984 callH7121 them ZamzummimsH2157; 21A peopleH5971 greatH1419, and manyH7227, and tallH7311, as the AnakimsH6062; but the LORDH3068 destroyedH8045 them beforeH6440 them; and they succeededH3423 them, and dweltH3427 in their stead: 22As he didH6213 to the childrenH1121 of EsauH6215, which dweltH3427 in SeirH8165, when he destroyedH8045 the HorimsH2752 from beforeH6440 them; and they succeededH3423 them, and dweltH3427 in their stead even unto this dayH3117: 23And the AvimsH5761 which dweltH3427 in HazerimH2699, even unto AzzahH5804, the CaphtorimsH3732, which came forthH3318 out of CaphtorH3731, destroyedH8045 them, and dweltH3427 in their stead.)

24Rise ye upH6965, take your journeyH5265, and pass overH5674 the riverH5158 ArnonH0769: beholdH7200, I have givenH5414 into thine handH3027 SihonH5511 the AmoriteH0567, kingH4428 of HeshbonH2809, and his landH0776: beginH2490 to possessH3423 it , and contendH1624 with him in battleH4421. 25This dayH3117 will I beginH2490 to putH5414 the dreadH6343 of thee and the fearH3374 of thee upon the nationsH6440 that are under the whole heavenH8064, who shall hearH8085 reportH8088 of thee, and shall trembleH7264, and be in anguishH2342 because of theeH6440.

26And I sentH7971 messengersH4397 out of the wildernessH4057 of KedemothH6932 unto SihonH5511 kingH4428 of HeshbonH2809 with wordsH1697 of peaceH7965, sayingH0559, 27Let me passH5674 through thy landH0776: I will goH3212 along by the high wayH1870, I will neither turnH5493 unto the right handH3225 nor to the leftH8040. 28Thou shalt sellH7666 me meatH0400 for moneyH3701, that I may eatH0398; and giveH5414 me waterH4325 for moneyH3701, that I may drinkH8354: only I will pass throughH5674 on my feetH7272; 29(As the childrenH1121 of EsauH6215 which dwellH3427 in SeirH8165, and the MoabitesH4125 which dwellH3427 in ArH6144, didH6213 unto me;) until I shall pass overH5674 JordanH3383 into the landH0776 which the LORDH3068 our GodH0430 givethH5414 us. 30But SihonH5511 kingH4428 of HeshbonH2809 wouldH0014 not let us passH5674 by him: for the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 hardenedH7185 his spiritH7307, and made his heartH3824 obstinateH0553, that he might deliverH5414 him into thy handH3027, as appeareth this dayH3117. 31And the LORDH3068 saidH0559 unto me, BeholdH7200, I have begunH2490 to giveH5414 SihonH5511 and his landH0776 beforeH6440 thee: beginH2490 to possessH3423, that thou mayest inheritH3423 his landH0776. 32Then SihonH5511 came outH3318 againstH7125 us, he and all his peopleH5971, to fightH4421 at JahazH3096. 33And the LORDH3068 our GodH0430 deliveredH5414 him beforeH6440 us; and we smoteH5221 him, and his sonsH1121, and all his peopleH5971. 34And we tookH3920 all his citiesH5892 at that timeH6256, and utterly destroyedH2763 the menH4962, and the womenH0802, and the little onesH2945, of every cityH5892, we leftH7604 none to remainH8300: 35Only the cattleH0929 we took for a preyH0962 unto ourselves, and the spoilH7998 of the citiesH5892 which we tookH3920. 36From AroerH6177, which is by the brinkH8193 of the riverH5158 of ArnonH0769, and from the cityH5892 that is by the riverH5158, even unto GileadH1568, there was not one cityH7151 too strongH7682 for us: the LORDH3068 our GodH0430 deliveredH5414 all unto usH6440: 37Only unto the landH0776 of the childrenH1121 of AmmonH5983 thou camestH7126 not, nor unto any placeH3027 of the riverH5158 JabbokH2999, nor unto the citiesH5892 in the mountainsH2022, nor unto whatsoever the LORDH3068 our GodH0430 forbadH6680 us.

1Then we turnedH6437, and went upH5927 the wayH1870 to BashanH1316: and OgH5747 the kingH4428 of BashanH1316 came outH3318 againstH7125 us, he and all his peopleH5971, to battleH4421 at EdreiH0154. 2And the LORDH3068 saidH0559 unto me, FearH3372 him not: for I will deliverH5414 him, and all his peopleH5971, and his landH0776, into thy handH3027; and thou shalt doH6213 unto him as thou didstH6213 unto SihonH5511 kingH4428 of the AmoritesH0567, which dweltH3427 at HeshbonH2809. 3So the LORDH3068 our GodH0430 deliveredH5414 into our handsH3027 OgH5747 also, the kingH4428 of BashanH1316, and all his peopleH5971: and we smoteH5221 him until none was leftH7604 to him remainingH8300. 4And we tookH3920 all his citiesH5892 at that timeH6256, there was not a cityH7151 which we tookH3947 not from them, threescoreH8346 citiesH5892, all the regionH2256 of ArgobH0709, the kingdomH4467 of OgH5747 in BashanH1316. 5All these citiesH5892 were fencedH1219 with highH1364 wallsH2346, gatesH1817, and barsH1280; beside unwalledH6521 townsH5892 a greatH3966 manyH7235. 6And we utterly destroyedH2763 them, as we didH6213 unto SihonH5511 kingH4428 of HeshbonH2809, utterly destroyingH2763 the menH4962, womenH0802, and childrenH2945, of every cityH5892. 7But all the cattleH0929, and the spoilH7998 of the citiesH5892, we took for a preyH0962 to ourselves. 8And we tookH3947 at that timeH6256 outH3947 of the handH3027 of the twoH8147 kingsH4428 of the AmoritesH0567 the landH0776 that was on this sideH5676 JordanH3383, from the riverH5158 of ArnonH0769 unto mountH2022 HermonH2768; 9( Which HermonH2768 the SidoniansH6722 callH7121 SirionH8303; and the AmoritesH0567 callH7121 it ShenirH8149;) 10All the citiesH5892 of the plainH4334, and all GileadH1568, and all BashanH1316, unto SalchahH5548 and EdreiH0154, citiesH5892 of the kingdomH4467 of OgH5747 in BashanH1316. 11For only OgH5747 kingH4428 of BashanH1316 remainedH7604 of the remnantH3499 of giantsH7497; behold, his bedsteadH6210 was a bedsteadH6210 of ironH1270; is it notH3808 in RabbathH7237 of the childrenH1121 of AmmonH5983? nineH8672 cubitsH0520 was the lengthH0753 thereof, and fourH0702 cubitsH0520 the breadthH7341 of it, after the cubitH0520 of a manH0376.

12And this landH0776, which we possessedH3423 at that timeH6256, from AroerH6177, which is by the riverH5158 ArnonH0769, and halfH2677 mountH2022 GileadH1568, and the citiesH5892 thereof, gaveH5414 I unto the ReubenitesH7206 and to the GaditesH1425. 13And the restH3499 of GileadH1568, and all BashanH1316, being the kingdomH4467 of OgH5747, gaveH5414 I unto the halfH2677 tribeH7626 of ManassehH4519; all the regionH2256 of ArgobH0709, with all BashanH1316, whichH1931 was calledH7121 the landH0776 of giantsH7497. 14 JairH2971 the sonH1121 of ManassehH4519 tookH3947 all the countryH2256 of ArgobH0709 unto the coastsH1366 of GeshuriH1651 and MaachathiH4602; and calledH7121 them after his own nameH8034, Bashan-havoth-jairH1316, unto this dayH3117. 15And I gaveH5414 GileadH1568 unto MachirH4353. 16And unto the ReubenitesH7206 and unto the GaditesH1425 I gaveH5414 from GileadH1568 even unto the riverH5158 ArnonH0769 halfH8432 the valleyH5158, and the borderH1366 even unto the riverH5158 JabbokH2999, which is the borderH1366 of the childrenH1121 of AmmonH5983; 17The plainH6160 also, and JordanH3383, and the coastH1366 thereof , from ChinnerethH3672 even unto the seaH3220 of the plainH6160, even the saltH4417 seaH3220, under Ashdoth-pisgahH0798 eastwardH4217.

18And I commandedH6680 you at that timeH6256, sayingH0559, The LORDH3068 your GodH0430 hath givenH5414 you this landH0776 to possessH3423 it: ye shall pass overH5674 armedH2502 beforeH6440 your brethrenH0251 the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478, all that are meetH1121 for the warH2428. 19But your wivesH0802, and your little onesH2945, and your cattleH4735, ( for I knowH3045 that ye have muchH7227 cattleH4735,) shall abideH3427 in your citiesH5892 which I have givenH5414 you; 20Until the LORDH3068 have given restH5117 unto your brethrenH0251, as well as unto you, and until they also possessH3423 the landH0776 which the LORDH3068 your GodH0430 hath givenH5414 them beyondH5676 JordanH3383: and then shall ye returnH7725 every manH0376 unto his possessionH3425, which I have givenH5414 you.

21And I commandedH6680 JoshuaH3091 at that timeH6256, sayingH0559, Thine eyesH5869 have seenH7200 all that the LORDH3068 your GodH0430 hath doneH6213 unto these twoH8147 kingsH4428: so shall the LORDH3068 doH6213 unto all the kingdomsH4467 whither thou passestH5674. 22Ye shall not fearH3372 them: for the LORDH3068 your GodH0430 he shall fightH3898 for you. 23And I besoughtH2603 the LORDH3068 at that timeH6256, sayingH0559, 24O LordH0136 GODH3069, thou hast begunH2490 to shewH7200 thy servantH5650 thy greatnessH1433, and thy mightyH2389 handH3027: for what GodH0410 is there in heavenH8064 or in earthH0776, that can doH6213 according to thy worksH4639, and according to thy mightH1369? 25I pray thee, let me go overH5674, and seeH7200 the goodH2896 landH0776 that is beyondH5676 JordanH3383, that goodlyH2896 mountainH2022, and LebanonH3844. 26But the LORDH3068 was wrothH5674 with me for your sakes, and would not hearH8085 me: and the LORDH3068 saidH0559 unto me, Let it sufficeH7227 thee; speakH1696 no moreH3254 unto me of this matterH1697. 27Get thee upH5927 into the topH7218 of PisgahH6449, and lift upH5375 thine eyesH5869 westwardH3220, and northwardH6828, and southwardH8486, and eastwardH4217, and beholdH7200 it with thine eyesH5869: for thou shalt not go overH5674 this JordanH3383. 28But chargeH6680 JoshuaH3091, and encourageH2388 him, and strengthenH0553 him: for he shall go overH5674 beforeH6440 this peopleH5971, and he shall cause them to inheritH5157 the landH0776 which thou shalt seeH7200. 29So we abodeH3427 in the valleyH1516 over againstH4136 Beth-peorH1047.

Deuteronomy: Chapter 4

1Now therefore hearkenH8085, O IsraelH3478, unto the statutesH2706 and unto the judgmentsH4941, which I teachH3925 you, for to doH6213 them , that ye may liveH2421, and go inH0935 and possessH3423 the landH0776 which the LORDH3068 GodH0430 of your fathersH0001 givethH5414 you. 2Ye shall not addH3254 unto the wordH1697 which I commandH6680 you, neither shall ye diminishH1639 ought from it, that ye may keepH8104 the commandmentsH4687 of the LORDH3068 your GodH0430 which I commandH6680 you. 3Your eyesH5869 have seenH7200 what the LORDH3068 didH6213 because of Baal-peorH1187: for all the menH0376 that followedH0310 Baal-peorH1187, the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 hath destroyedH8045 them from amongH7130 you. 4But ye that did cleaveH1695 unto the LORDH3068 your GodH0430 are aliveH2416 every one of you this dayH3117. 5BeholdH7200, I have taughtH3925 you statutesH2706 and judgmentsH4941, even asH0834 the LORDH3068 my GodH0430 commandedH6680 me, that ye should doH6213 so inH7130 the landH0776 whither ye goH0935 to possessH3423 it. 6KeepH8104 therefore and doH6213 them; for this is your wisdomH2451 and your understandingH0998 in the sightH5869 of the nationsH5971, which shall hearH8085 all these statutesH2706, and sayH0559, Surely this greatH1419 nationH1471 is a wiseH2450 and understandingH0995 peopleH5971. 7For what nationH1471 is there so greatH1419, who hath GodH0430 so nighH7138 unto them, as the LORDH3068 our GodH0430 is in all things that we callH7121 upon him for ? 8And what nationH1471 is there so greatH1419, that hath statutesH2706 and judgmentsH4941 so righteousH6662 as all this lawH8451, which I setH5414 beforeH6440 you this dayH3117? 9Only take heedH8104 to thyself, and keepH8104 thy soulH5315 diligentlyH3966, lest thou forgetH7911 the thingsH1697 which thine eyesH5869 have seenH7200, and lest they departH5493 from thy heartH3824 all the daysH3117 of thy lifeH2416: but teachH3045 them thy sonsH1121, and thy sonsH1121 sonsH1121; 10 Specially the dayH3117 that thou stoodestH5975 beforeH6440 the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 in HorebH2722, when the LORDH3068 saidH0559 unto me, GatherH6950 me the peopleH5971 togetherH6950, and I will make them hearH8085 my wordsH1697, that they may learnH3925 to fearH3372 me all the daysH3117 that they shall liveH2416 upon the earthH0127, and that they may teachH3925 their childrenH1121. 11And ye came nearH7126 and stoodH5975 under the mountainH2022; and the mountainH2022 burnedH1197 with fireH0784 unto the midstH3820 of heavenH8064, with darknessH6205, cloudsH6051, and thick darknessH2822. 12And the LORDH3068 spakeH1696 unto you out of the midstH8432 of the fireH0784: ye heardH8085 the voiceH6963 of the wordsH1697, but sawH7200 no similitudeH8544; onlyH2108 ye heard a voiceH6963. 13And he declaredH5046 unto you his covenantH1285, which he commandedH6680 you to performH6213, even tenH6235 commandmentsH1697; and he wroteH3789 them upon twoH8147 tablesH3871 of stoneH0068.

14And the LORDH3068 commandedH6680 me at that timeH6256 to teachH3925 you statutesH2706 and judgmentsH4941, that ye might doH6213 them in the landH0776 whither ye go overH5674 to possessH3423 it. 15Take ye therefore goodH3966 heedH8104 unto yourselvesH5315; for ye sawH7200 no manner of similitudeH8544 on the dayH3117 that the LORDH3068 spakeH1696 unto you in HorebH2722 out of the midstH8432 of the fireH0784: 16Lest ye corruptH7843 yourselves , and makeH6213 you a graven imageH6459, the similitudeH8544 of any figureH5566, the likenessH8403 of maleH2145 or femaleH5347, 17The likenessH8403 of any beastH0929 that is on the earthH0776, the likenessH8403 of any wingedH3671 fowlH6833 that fliethH5774 in the airH8064, 18The likenessH8403 of any thing that creepethH7430 on the groundH0127, the likenessH8403 of any fishH1710 that is in the watersH4325 beneathH8478 the earthH0776: 19And lest thou lift upH5375 thine eyesH5869 unto heavenH8064, and when thou seestH7200 the sunH8121, and the moonH3394, and the starsH3556, even all the hostH6635 of heavenH8064, shouldest be drivenH5080 to worshipH7812 them, and serveH5647 them, which the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 hath dividedH2505 unto all nationsH5971 under the whole heavenH8064. 20But the LORDH3068 hath takenH3947 you, and brought you forthH3318 out of the ironH1270 furnaceH3564, even out of EgyptH4714, to be unto him a peopleH5971 of inheritanceH5159, as ye are this dayH3117. 21Furthermore the LORDH3068 was angryH0599 with me for your sakesH1697, and swareH7650 that I should not go overH5674 JordanH3383, and that I should not goH0935 in unto that goodH2896 landH0776, which the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 givethH5414 thee for an inheritanceH5159: 22But I must dieH4191 in this landH0776, I must not go overH5674 JordanH3383: but ye shall go overH5674, and possessH3423 that goodH2896 landH0776. 23Take heedH8104 unto yourselves, lest ye forgetH7911 the covenantH1285 of the LORDH3068 your GodH0430, which he madeH3772 with you, and makeH6213 you a graven imageH6459, or the likenessH8544 of anyH3605 thing , which the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 hath forbiddenH6680 thee. 24For the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 is a consumingH0398 fireH0784, even a jealousH7067 GodH0410.

25When thou shalt begetH3205 childrenH1121, and childrensH1121 childrenH1121, and ye shall have remained longH3462 in the landH0776, and shall corruptH7843 yourselves , and makeH6213 a graven imageH6459, or the likenessH8544 of any thing , and shall doH6213 evilH7451 in the sightH5869 of the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430, to provoke him to angerH3707: 26I callH5749 heavenH8064 and earthH0776 to witnessH5749 against you this dayH3117, that ye shall soonH4118 utterlyH0006 perishH0006 from off the landH0776 whereunto ye go overH5674 JordanH3383 to possessH3423 it; ye shall not prolongH0748 your daysH3117 upon it, but shall utterlyH8045 be destroyedH8045. 27And the LORDH3068 shall scatterH6327 you among the nationsH5971, and ye shall be leftH7604 fewH4962 in numberH4557 among the heathenH1471, whither the LORDH3068 shall leadH5090 you. 28And there ye shall serveH5647 godsH0430, the workH4639 of mensH0120 handsH3027, woodH6086 and stoneH0068, which neither seeH7200, nor hearH8085, nor eatH0398, nor smellH7306. 29But if from thence thou shalt seekH1245 the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430, thou shalt findH4672 him , if thou seekH1875 him with all thy heartH3824 and with all thy soulH5315. 30When thou art in tribulationH6862, and all these thingsH1697 are comeH4672 upon thee, even in the latterH0319 daysH3117, if thou turnH7725 to the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430, and shalt be obedientH8085 unto his voiceH6963; 31(For the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 is a mercifulH7349 GodH0410;) he will not forsakeH7503 thee, neither destroyH7843 thee, nor forgetH7911 the covenantH1285 of thy fathersH0001 which he swareH7650 unto them. 32For askH7592 now of the daysH3117 that are pastH7223, which wereH1961 beforeH6440 thee, since the dayH3117 that GodH0430 createdH1254 manH0120 upon the earthH0776, and ask from the one sideH7097 of heavenH8064 unto the other, whether there hath been any such thing as this greatH1419 thingH1697 is , or hath been heardH8085 like it? 33Did ever peopleH5971 hearH8085 the voiceH6963 of GodH0430 speaking outH1696 of the midstH8432 of the fireH0784, as thou hast heardH8085, and liveH2421? 34Or hath GodH0430 assayedH5254 to goH0935 and takeH3947 him a nationH1471 from the midstH7130 of another nationH1471, by temptationsH4531, by signsH0226, and by wondersH4159, and by warH4421, and by a mightyH2389 handH3027, and by a stretched outH5186 armH2220, and by greatH1419 terrorsH4172, according to all that the LORDH3068 your GodH0430 didH6213 for you in EgyptH4714 before your eyesH5869? 35Unto thee it was shewedH7200, that thou mightest knowH3045 that the LORDH3068 he is GodH0430; there is none elseH5750 beside himH0905. 36Out of heavenH8064 he made thee to hearH8085 his voiceH6963, that he might instructH3256 thee: and upon earthH0776 he shewedH7200 thee his greatH1419 fireH0784; and thou heardestH8085 his wordsH1697 out of the midstH8432 of the fireH0784. 37And because he lovedH0157 thy fathersH0001, therefore he choseH0977 their seedH2233 afterH0310 them, and brought thee outH3318 in his sightH6440 with his mightyH1419 powerH3581 out of EgyptH4714; 38To drive outH3423 nationsH1471 from beforeH6440 thee greaterH1419 and mightierH6099 than thou art , to bringH0935 thee in, to giveH5414 thee their landH0776 for an inheritanceH5159, as it is this dayH3117. 39KnowH3045 therefore this dayH3117, and considerH7725 it in thine heartH3824, that the LORDH3068 he is GodH0430 in heavenH8064 aboveH4605, and upon the earthH0776 beneath: there is none else. 40Thou shalt keepH8104 therefore his statutesH2706, and his commandmentsH4687, which I commandH6680 thee this dayH3117, that it may go wellH3190 with thee, and with thy childrenH1121 afterH0310 thee, and that thou mayest prolongH0748 thy daysH3117 upon the earthH0127, which the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 givethH5414 thee, for ever.

41Then MosesH4872 severedH0914 threeH7969 citiesH5892 on this sideH5676 JordanH3383 toward the sunrisingH8121; 42That the slayerH7523 might fleeH5127 thither, which should killH7523 his neighbourH7453 unawaresH1097, and hatedH8130 him not in timesH8543 pastH8032; and that fleeingH5127 unto oneH0259 of theseH0411 citiesH5892 he might liveH2425: 43 Namely , BezerH1221 in the wildernessH4057, in the plainH4334 countryH0776, of the ReubenitesH7206; and RamothH7216 in GileadH1568, of the GaditesH1425; and GolanH1474 in BashanH1316, of the ManassitesH4520.

44And this is the lawH8451 which MosesH4872 setH7760 beforeH6440 the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478: 45These are the testimoniesH5713, and the statutesH2706, and the judgmentsH4941, which MosesH4872 spakeH1696 unto the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478, after they came forthH3318 out of EgyptH4714, 46On this sideH5676 JordanH3383, in the valleyH1516 over againstH4136 Beth-peorH1047, in the landH0776 of SihonH5511 kingH4428 of the AmoritesH0567, who dweltH3427 at HeshbonH2809, whom MosesH4872 and the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478 smoteH5221, after they were come forthH3318 out of EgyptH4714: 47And they possessedH3423 his landH0776, and the landH0776 of OgH5747 kingH4428 of BashanH1316, twoH8147 kingsH4428 of the AmoritesH0567, which were on this sideH5676 JordanH3383 toward the sunrisingH4217; 48From AroerH6177, which is by the bankH8193 of the riverH5158 ArnonH0769, even unto mountH2022 SionH7865, which is HermonH2768, 49And all the plainH6160 on this sideH5676 JordanH3383 eastwardH4217, even unto the seaH3220 of the plainH6160, under the springsH0794 of PisgahH6449.

Deuteronomy: Chapter 5

1And MosesH4872 calledH7121 all IsraelH3478, and saidH0559 unto them, HearH8085, O IsraelH3478, the statutesH2706 and judgmentsH4941 which I speakH1696 in your earsH0241 this dayH3117, that ye may learnH3925 them, and keepH8104, and doH6213 them. 2The LORDH3068 our GodH0430 madeH3772 a covenantH1285 with us in HorebH2722. 3The LORDH3068 madeH3772 not this covenantH1285 with our fathersH0001, but with usH0587, even us, who are all of usH0428 here aliveH2416 this dayH3117. 4The LORDH3068 talkedH1696 with you faceH6440 to faceH6440 in the mountH2022 out of the midstH8432 of the fireH0784, 5(I stoodH5975 between the LORDH3068 and you at that timeH6256, to shewH5046 you the wordH1697 of the LORDH3068: for ye were afraidH3372 by reasonH6440 of the fireH0784, and went not upH5927 into the mountH2022;) sayingH0559,

6I am the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430, which brought thee outH3318 of the landH0776 of EgyptH4714, from the houseH1004 of bondageH5650. 7Thou shalt have none otherH0312 godsH0430 beforeH6440 me. 8Thou shalt not makeH6213 thee any graven imageH6459, or any likenessH8544 of any thing that is in heavenH8064 aboveH4605, or that is in the earthH0776 beneath, or that is in the watersH4325 beneath the earthH0776: 9Thou shalt not bow downH7812 thyself unto them, nor serveH5647 them: for I the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 am a jealousH7067 GodH0410, visitingH6485 the iniquityH5771 of the fathersH0001 upon the childrenH1121 unto the thirdH8029 and fourthH7256 generation of them that hateH8130 me, 10And shewingH6213 mercyH2617 unto thousandsH0505 of them that loveH0157 me and keepH8104 my commandmentsH4687. 11Thou shalt not takeH5375 the nameH8034 of the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 in vainH7723: for the LORDH3068 will not hold him guiltlessH5352 that takethH5375 his nameH8034 in vainH7723. 12KeepH8104 the sabbathH7676 dayH3117 to sanctifyH6942 it, as the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 hath commandedH6680 thee. 13SixH8337 daysH3117 thou shalt labourH5647, and doH6213 all thy workH4399: 14But the seventhH7637 dayH3117 is the sabbathH7676 of the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430: in it thou shalt not doH6213 any workH4399, thou, nor thy sonH1121, nor thy daughterH1323, nor thy manservantH5650, nor thy maidservantH0519, nor thine oxH7794, nor thine assH2543, nor any of thy cattleH0929, nor thy strangerH1616 that is within thy gatesH8179; that thy manservantH5650 and thy maidservantH0519 may restH5117 as well as thou. 15And rememberH2142 that thou wast a servantH5650 in the landH0776 of EgyptH4714, and that the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 broughtH3318 thee out thence through a mightyH2389 handH3027 and by a stretched outH5186 armH2220: therefore the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 commandedH6680 thee to keepH6213 the sabbathH7676 dayH3117.

16HonourH3513 thy fatherH0001 and thy motherH0517, as the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 hath commandedH6680 thee; that thy daysH3117 may be prolongedH0748, and that it may go wellH3190 with thee, in the landH0127 which the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 givethH5414 thee. 17Thou shalt not killH7523. 18Neither shalt thou commit adulteryH5003. 19Neither shalt thou stealH1589. 20Neither shalt thou bearH6030 falseH7723 witnessH5707 against thy neighbourH7453. 21Neither shalt thou desireH2530 thy neighboursH7453 wifeH0802, neither shalt thou covetH0183 thy neighboursH7453 houseH1004, his fieldH7704, or his manservantH5650, or his maidservantH0519, his oxH7794, or his assH2543, or any thing that is thy neighboursH7453.

22These wordsH1697 the LORDH3068 spakeH1696 unto all your assemblyH6951 in the mountH2022 out of the midstH8432 of the fireH0784, of the cloudH6051, and of the thick darknessH6205, with a greatH1419 voiceH6963: and he added no moreH3254. And he wroteH3789 them in twoH8147 tablesH3871 of stoneH0068, and deliveredH5414 them unto me.

23And it came to pass, when ye heardH8085 the voiceH6963 out of the midstH8432 of the darknessH2822, (for the mountainH2022 did burnH1197 with fireH0784,) that ye came nearH7126 unto me, even all the headsH7218 of your tribesH7626, and your eldersH2205; 24And ye saidH0559, Behold, the LORDH3068 our GodH0430 hath shewedH7200 us his gloryH3519 and his greatnessH1433, and we have heardH8085 his voiceH6963 out of the midstH8432 of the fireH0784: we have seenH7200 this dayH3117 that GodH0430 doth talkH1696 with manH0120, and he livethH2425. 25Now therefore why should we dieH4191? for this greatH1419 fireH0784 will consumeH0398 us: if we hearH8085 the voiceH6963 of the LORDH3068 our GodH0430 any moreH3254, then we shall dieH4191. 26For who is there of all fleshH1320, that hath heardH8085 the voiceH6963 of the livingH2416 GodH0430 speakingH1696 out of the midstH8432 of the fireH0784, as we have , and livedH2421? 27Go thou nearH7126, and hearH8085 all that the LORDH3068 our GodH0430 shall sayH0559: and speakH1696 thou unto us all that the LORDH3068 our GodH0430 shall speakH1696 unto thee; and we will hearH8085 it , and doH6213 it . 28And the LORDH3068 heardH8085 the voiceH6963 of your wordsH1697, when ye spakeH1696 unto me; and the LORDH3068 saidH0559 unto me, I have heardH8085 the voiceH6963 of the wordsH1697 of this peopleH5971, which they have spokenH1696 unto thee: they have wellH3190 said all that they have spokenH1696. 29O that there were suchH2088 anH4310 heartH3824 in themH5414, that they would fearH3372 me, and keepH8104 all my commandmentsH4687 alwaysH3117, that it might be wellH3190 with them, and with their childrenH1121 for everH5769! 30GoH3212 sayH0559 to them, GetH7725 you into your tentsH0168 againH7725. 31But as for thee, standH5975 thou here by meH5978, and I will speakH1696 unto thee all the commandmentsH4687, and the statutesH2706, and the judgmentsH4941, which thou shalt teachH3925 them, that they may doH6213 them in the landH0776 which I giveH5414 them to possessH3423 it. 32Ye shall observeH8104 to doH6213 therefore as the LORDH3068 your GodH0430 hath commandedH6680 you: ye shall not turn asideH5493 to the right handH3225 or to the leftH8040. 33Ye shall walkH3212 in all the waysH1870 which the LORDH3068 your GodH0430 hath commandedH6680 you, that ye may liveH2421, and that it may be wellH2895 with you, and that ye may prolongH0748 your daysH3117 in the landH0776 which ye shall possessH3423.

Deuteronomy: Chapter 6

1Now these are the commandmentsH4687, the statutesH2706, and the judgmentsH4941, which the LORDH3068 your GodH0430 commandedH6680 to teachH3925 you, that ye might doH6213 them in the landH0776 whither ye goH5674 to possessH3423 it: 2That thou mightest fearH3372 the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430, to keepH8104 all his statutesH2708 and his commandmentsH4687, which I commandH6680 thee, thou, and thy sonH1121, and thy sonsH1121 sonH1121, all the daysH3117 of thy lifeH2416; and that thy daysH3117 may be prolongedH0748.

3HearH8085 therefore, O IsraelH3478, and observeH8104 to doH6213 it; that it may be wellH3190 with thee, and that ye may increaseH7235 mightilyH3966, as the LORDH3068 GodH0430 of thy fathersH0001 hath promisedH1696 thee, in the landH0776 that flowethH2100 with milkH2461 and honeyH1706.

4HearH8085, O IsraelH3478: The LORDH3068 our GodH0430 is oneH0259 LORDH3068: 5And thou shalt loveH0157 the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 with all thine heartH3824, and with all thy soulH5315, and with all thy mightH3966. 6And these wordsH1697, which I commandH6680 thee this dayH3117, shall be in thine heartH3824: 7And thou shalt teach them diligentlyH8150 unto thy childrenH1121, and shalt talkH1696 of them when thou sittestH3427 in thine houseH1004, and when thou walkestH3212 by the wayH1870, and when thou liest downH7901, and when thou risest upH6965. 8And thou shalt bindH7194 them for a signH0226 upon thine handH3027, and they shall be as frontletsH2903 between thine eyesH5869. 9And thou shalt writeH3789 them upon the postsH4201 of thy houseH1004, and on thy gatesH8179. 10And it shall be, when the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 shall have broughtH0935 thee into the landH0776 which he swareH7650 unto thy fathersH0001, to AbrahamH0085, to IsaacH3327, and to JacobH3290, to giveH5414 thee greatH1419 and goodlyH2896 citiesH5892, which thou buildedstH1129 not, 11And housesH1004 fullH4392 of all goodH2898 things , which thou filledstH4390 not, and wellsH0953 diggedH2672, which thou diggedstH2672 not, vineyardsH3754 and olive treesH2132, which thou plantedstH5193 not; when thou shalt have eatenH0398 and be fullH7646; 12 Then bewareH8104 lest thou forgetH7911 the LORDH3068, which brought thee forthH3318 out of the landH0776 of EgyptH4714, from the houseH1004 of bondageH5650. 13Thou shalt fearH3372 the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430, and serveH5647 him, and shalt swearH7650 by his nameH8034. 14Ye shall not goH3212 afterH0310 otherH0312 godsH0430, of the godsH0430 of the peopleH5971 which are round aboutH5439 you; 15(For the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 is a jealousH7067 GodH0410 amongH7130 you) lest the angerH0639 of the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 be kindledH2734 against thee, and destroyH8045 thee from off the faceH6440 of the earthH0127.

16Ye shall not temptH5254 the LORDH3068 your GodH0430, as ye temptedH5254 him in MassahH4532.

17Ye shall diligentlyH8104 keepH8104 the commandmentsH4687 of the LORDH3068 your GodH0430, and his testimoniesH5713, and his statutesH2706, which he hath commandedH6680 thee. 18And thou shalt doH6213 that which is rightH3477 and goodH2896 in the sightH5869 of the LORDH3068: that it may be wellH3190 with thee, and that thou mayest go inH0935 and possessH3423 the goodH2896 landH0776 which the LORDH3068 swareH7650 unto thy fathersH0001, 19To cast outH1920 all thine enemiesH0341 from beforeH6440 thee, as the LORDH3068 hath spokenH1696. 20 And when thy sonH1121 askethH7592 thee in time to comeH4279, sayingH0559, What mean the testimoniesH5713, and the statutesH2706, and the judgmentsH4941, which the LORDH3068 our GodH0430 hath commandedH6680 you? 21Then thou shalt sayH0559 unto thy sonH1121, We were PharaohsH6547 bondmenH5650 in EgyptH4714; and the LORDH3068 brought us outH3318 of EgyptH4714 with a mightyH2389 handH3027: 22And the LORDH3068 shewedH5414 signsH0226 and wondersH4159, greatH1419 and soreH7451, upon EgyptH4714, upon PharaohH6547, and upon all his householdH1004, before our eyesH5869: 23And he brought us outH3318 from thence, that he might bring us inH0935, to giveH5414 us the landH0776 which he swareH7650 unto our fathersH0001. 24And the LORDH3068 commandedH6680 us to doH6213 all these statutesH2706, to fearH3372 the LORDH3068 our GodH0430, for our goodH2896 alwaysH3117, that he might preserve us aliveH2421, as it is at this dayH3117. 25And it shall be our righteousnessH6666, if we observeH8104 to doH6213 all theseH2063 commandmentsH4687 beforeH6440 the LORDH3068 our GodH0430, as he hath commandedH6680 us.

Deuteronomy: Chapter 7

1When the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 shall bringH0935 thee into the landH0776 whither thou goestH0935 to possessH3423 it, and hath cast outH5394 manyH7227 nationsH1471 beforeH6440 thee, the HittitesH2850, and the GirgashitesH1622, and the AmoritesH0567, and the CanaanitesH3669, and the PerizzitesH6522, and the HivitesH2340, and the JebusitesH2983, sevenH7651 nationsH1471 greaterH7227 and mightierH6099 than thou; 2And when the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 shall deliverH5414 them beforeH6440 thee; thou shalt smiteH5221 them, and utterlyH2763 destroyH2763 them; thou shalt makeH3772 no covenantH1285 with them, nor shew mercyH2603 unto them: 3Neither shalt thou make marriagesH2859 with them; thy daughterH1323 thou shalt not giveH5414 unto his sonH1121, nor his daughterH1323 shalt thou takeH3947 unto thy sonH1121. 4For they will turn awayH5493 thy sonH1121 from followingH0310 me, that they may serveH5647 otherH0312 godsH0430: so will the angerH0639 of the LORDH3068 be kindledH2734 against you, and destroyH8045 thee suddenlyH4118. 5But thus shall ye dealH6213 with them; ye shall destroyH5422 their altarsH4196, and break downH7665 their imagesH4676, and cut downH1438 their grovesH0842, and burnH8313 their graven imagesH6456 with fireH0784. 6For thou art an holyH6918 peopleH5971 unto the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430: the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 hath chosenH0977 thee to be a specialH5459 peopleH5971 unto himself, above all peopleH5971 that are upon the faceH6440 of the earthH0127. 7The LORDH3068 did not set his loveH2836 upon you, nor chooseH0977 you, because ye were moreH7230 in number than any peopleH5971; for ye were the fewestH4592 of all peopleH5971: 8But because the LORDH3068 lovedH0160 you, and because he would keepH8104 the oathH7621 which he had swornH7650 unto your fathersH0001, hath the LORDH3068 brought you outH3318 with a mightyH2389 handH3027, and redeemedH6299 you out of the houseH1004 of bondmenH5650, from the handH3027 of PharaohH6547 kingH4428 of EgyptH4714. 9KnowH3045 therefore that the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430, he is GodH0430, the faithfulH0539 GodH0410, which keepethH8104 covenantH1285 and mercyH2617 with them that loveH0157 him and keepH8104 his commandmentsH4687 to a thousandH0505 generationsH1755; 10And repayethH7999 them that hateH8130 him to their faceH6440, to destroyH0006 them: he will not be slackH0309 to him that hatethH8130 him, he will repayH7999 him to his faceH6440. 11Thou shalt therefore keepH8104 the commandmentsH4687, and the statutesH2706, and the judgmentsH4941, which I commandH6680 thee this dayH3117, to doH6213 them.

12Wherefore it shall come to pass, ifH6118 ye hearkenH8085 to these judgmentsH4941, and keepH8104, and doH6213 them, that the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 shall keepH8104 unto thee the covenantH1285 and the mercyH2617 which he swareH7650 unto thy fathersH0001: 13And he will loveH0157 thee, and blessH1288 thee, and multiplyH7235 thee: he will also blessH1288 the fruitH6529 of thy wombH0990, and the fruitH6529 of thy landH0127, thy cornH1715, and thy wineH8492, and thine oilH3323, the increaseH7698 of thy kineH0504, and the flocksH6251 of thy sheepH6629, in the landH0127 which he swareH7650 unto thy fathersH0001 to giveH5414 thee. 14Thou shalt be blessedH1288 above all peopleH5971: there shall not be maleH6135 or female barrenH6135 among you, or among your cattleH0929. 15And the LORDH3068 will take awayH5493 from thee all sicknessH2483, and will putH7760 none of the evilH7451 diseasesH4064 of EgyptH4714, which thou knowestH3045, upon thee; but will layH5414 them upon all them that hateH8130 thee. 16And thou shalt consumeH0398 all the peopleH5971 which the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 shall deliverH5414 thee; thine eyeH5869 shall have no pityH2347 upon them: neither shalt thou serveH5647 their godsH0430; for that will be a snareH4170 unto thee. 17If thou shalt sayH0559 in thine heartH3824, These nationsH1471 are moreH7227 than I; howH0349 canH3201 I dispossessH3423 them? 18Thou shalt not be afraidH3372 of them: but shalt wellH2142 rememberH2142 what the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 didH6213 unto PharaohH6547, and unto all EgyptH4714; 19The greatH1419 temptationsH4531 which thine eyesH5869 sawH7200, and the signsH0226, and the wondersH4159, and the mightyH2389 handH3027, and the stretched outH5186 armH2220, whereby the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 brought thee outH3318: so shall the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 doH6213 unto all the peopleH5971 of whom thou art afraidH3373. 20Moreover the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 will sendH7971 the hornetH6880 among them, until they that are leftH7604, and hideH5641 themselves fromH6440 thee, be destroyedH0006. 21Thou shalt not be affrightedH6206 atH6440 them: for the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 is amongH7130 you, a mightyH1419 GodH0410 and terribleH3372. 22And the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 will put outH5394 thoseH0411 nationsH1471 beforeH6440 thee by littleH4592 and littleH4592: thou mayestH3201 not consumeH3615 them at onceH4118, lest the beastsH2416 of the fieldH7704 increaseH7235 upon thee. 23But the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 shall deliverH5414 them unto theeH6440, and shall destroyH1949 them with a mightyH1419 destructionH4103, until they be destroyedH8045. 24And he shall deliverH5414 their kingsH4428 into thine handH3027, and thou shalt destroyH0006 their nameH8034 from under heavenH8064: there shall no manH0376 be able to standH3320 beforeH6440 thee, until thou have destroyedH8045 them. 25The graven imagesH6456 of their godsH0430 shall ye burnH8313 with fireH0784: thou shalt not desireH2530 the silverH3701 or goldH2091 that is on them, nor takeH3947 it unto thee, lest thou be snaredH3369 therein: for it is an abominationH8441 to the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430. 26Neither shalt thou bringH0935 an abominationH8441 into thine houseH1004, lest thou be a cursed thingH2764 like it: but thou shalt utterlyH8262 detestH8262 it, and thou shalt utterlyH8581 abhorH8581 it; for it is a cursed thingH2764.

Deuteronomy: Chapter 8

1All the commandmentsH4687 which I commandH6680 thee this dayH3117 shall ye observeH8104 to doH6213, that ye may liveH2421, and multiplyH7235, and go inH0935 and possessH3423 the landH0776 which the LORDH3068 swareH7650 unto your fathersH0001. 2And thou shalt rememberH2142 all the wayH1870 which the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 ledH3212 thee these fortyH0705 yearsH8141 in the wildernessH4057, to humbleH6031 thee, and to proveH5254 thee, to knowH3045 what was in thine heartH3824, whether thou wouldest keepH8104 his commandmentsH4687, or no. 3And he humbledH6031 thee, and suffered thee to hungerH7456, and fedH0398 thee with mannaH4478, which thou knewestH3045 not, neither did thy fathersH0001 knowH3045; that he might make thee knowH3045 that manH0120 doth not liveH2421 by breadH3899 onlyH0905, but by every word that proceedethH4161 out of the mouthH6310 of the LORDH3068 doth manH0120 liveH2421. 4Thy raimentH8071 waxed not oldH1086 upon thee, neither did thy footH7272 swellH1216, these fortyH0705 yearsH8141. 5Thou shalt also considerH3045 inH5973 thine heartH3824, that, as a manH0376 chastenethH3256 his sonH1121, so the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 chastenethH3256 thee. 6Therefore thou shalt keepH8104 the commandmentsH4687 of the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430, to walkH3212 in his waysH1870, and to fearH3372 him. 7For the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 bringethH0935 thee into a goodH2896 landH0776, a landH0776 of brooksH5158 of waterH4325, of fountainsH5869 and depthsH8415 that spring outH3318 of valleysH1237 and hillsH2022; 8A landH0776 of wheatH2406, and barleyH8184, and vinesH1612, and fig treesH8384, and pomegranatesH7416; a landH0776 of oilH8081 oliveH2132, and honeyH1706; 9A landH0776 whereinH0834 thou shalt eatH0398 breadH3899 withoutH3808 scarcenessH4544, thou shalt not lackH2637 any thing in it; a landH0776 whose stonesH0068 are ironH1270, and out of whose hillsH2042 thou mayest digH2672 brassH5178.

10When thou hast eatenH0398 and art fullH7646, then thou shalt blessH1288 the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 for the goodH2896 landH0776 which he hath givenH5414 thee. 11BewareH8104 that thou forgetH7911 not the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430, in not keepingH8104 his commandmentsH4687, and his judgmentsH4941, and his statutesH2708, which I commandH6680 thee this dayH3117: 12Lest when thou hast eatenH0398 and art fullH7646, and hast builtH1129 goodlyH2896 housesH1004, and dweltH3427 therein; 13And when thy herdsH1241 and thy flocksH6629 multiplyH7235, and thy silverH3701 and thy goldH2091 is multipliedH7235, and all that thou hast is multipliedH7235; 14Then thine heartH3824 be lifted upH7311, and thou forgetH7911 the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430, which brought thee forthH3318 out of the landH0776 of EgyptH4714, from the houseH1004 of bondageH5650; 15Who ledH3212 thee through that greatH1419 and terribleH3372 wildernessH4057, wherein were fieryH8314 serpentsH5175, and scorpionsH6137, and droughtH6774, where there was no waterH4325; who brought thee forthH3318 waterH4325 out of the rockH6697 of flintH2496; 16Who fedH0398 thee in the wildernessH4057 with mannaH4478, which thy fathersH0001 knewH3045 not, that he might humbleH6031 thee, and that he might proveH5254 thee, to do thee goodH3190 at thy latter endH0319; 17And thou sayH0559 in thine heartH3824, My powerH3581 and the mightH6108 of mine handH3027 hath gottenH6213 me this wealthH2428. 18But thou shalt rememberH2142 the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430: for it is he that givethH5414 thee powerH3581 to getH6213 wealthH2428, that he may establishH6965 his covenantH1285 which he swareH7650 unto thy fathersH0001, as it is this dayH3117. 19And it shall be, if thou do at allH7911 forgetH7911 the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430, and walkH1980 afterH0310 otherH0312 godsH0430, and serveH5647 them, and worshipH7812 them, I testifyH5749 against you this dayH3117 that ye shall surelyH0006 perishH0006. 20As the nationsH1471 which the LORDH3068 destroyethH0006 before your faceH6440, so shall ye perishH0006; becauseH6118 ye would not be obedientH8085 unto the voiceH6963 of the LORDH3068 your GodH0430.

Deuteronomy: Chapter 9

1HearH8085, O IsraelH3478: Thou art to pass overH5674 JordanH3383 this dayH3117, to go inH0935 to possessH3423 nationsH1471 greaterH1419 and mightierH6099 than thyself, citiesH5892 greatH1419 and fenced upH1219 to heavenH8064, 2A peopleH5971 greatH1419 and tallH7311, the childrenH1121 of the AnakimsH6062, whom thou knowestH3045, and of whom thou hast heardH8085 say , Who can standH3320 beforeH6440 the childrenH1121 of AnakH6061! 3UnderstandH3045 therefore this dayH3117, that the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 is he which goeth overH5674 beforeH6440 thee; as a consumingH0398 fireH0784 he shall destroyH8045 them, and he shall bring them downH3665 before thy faceH6440: so shalt thou drive them outH3423, and destroyH0006 them quicklyH4118, as the LORDH3068 hath saidH1696 unto thee. 4SpeakH0559 not thou in thine heartH3824, after that the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 hath cast them outH1920 from beforeH6440 thee, sayingH0559, For my righteousnessH6666 the LORDH3068 hath brought me inH0935 to possessH3423 this landH0776: but for the wickednessH7564 of these nationsH1471 the LORDH3068 doth drive them outH3423 from beforeH6440 thee. 5Not for thy righteousnessH6666, or for the uprightnessH3476 of thine heartH3824, dost thou goH0935 to possessH3423 their landH0776: but for the wickednessH7564 of these nationsH1471 the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 doth drive them outH3423 from beforeH6440 thee, and that he may performH6965 the wordH1697 which the LORDH3068 swareH7650 unto thy fathersH0001, AbrahamH0085, IsaacH3327, and JacobH3290. 6UnderstandH3045 therefore, that the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 givethH5414 thee not this goodH2896 landH0776 to possessH3423 it for thy righteousnessH6666; for thou art a stiffneckedH6203 peopleH5971.

7RememberH2142, and forgetH7911 not, how thou provokedst the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 to wrathH7107 in the wildernessH4057: fromH4480 the dayH3117 that thou didst depart outH3318 of the landH0776 of EgyptH4714, until ye cameH0935 unto this placeH4725, ye have been rebelliousH4784 againstH5973 the LORDH3068. 8Also in HorebH2722 ye provokedH7107 the LORDH3068 to wrathH7107, so that the LORDH3068 was angryH0599 with you to have destroyedH8045 you. 9When I was gone upH5927 into the mountH2022 to receiveH3947 the tablesH3871 of stoneH0068, even the tablesH3871 of the covenantH1285 which the LORDH3068 madeH3772 with you, then I abodeH3427 in the mountH2022 fortyH0705 daysH3117 and fortyH0705 nightsH3915, I neither did eatH0398 breadH3899 nor drinkH8354 waterH4325: 10And the LORDH3068 deliveredH5414 unto me twoH8147 tablesH3871 of stoneH0068 writtenH3789 with the fingerH0676 of GodH0430; and on them was written according to all the wordsH1697, which the LORDH3068 spakeH1696 with you in the mountH2022 out of the midstH8432 of the fireH0784 in the dayH3117 of the assemblyH6951. 11And it came to pass at the endH7093 of fortyH0705 daysH3117 and fortyH0705 nightsH3915, that the LORDH3068 gaveH5414 me the twoH8147 tablesH3871 of stoneH0068, even the tablesH3871 of the covenantH1285. 12And the LORDH3068 saidH0559 unto me, AriseH6965, get thee downH3381 quicklyH4118 from hence; for thy peopleH5971 which thou hast brought forthH3318 out of EgyptH4714 have corruptedH7843 themselves; they are quicklyH4118 turned asideH5493 out of the wayH1870 which I commandedH6680 them; they have madeH6213 them a molten imageH4541. 13Furthermore the LORDH3068 spakeH0559 unto me, sayingH0559, I have seenH7200 this peopleH5971, and, behold, it is a stiffneckedH6203 peopleH5971: 14Let me aloneH7503, that I may destroyH8045 them, and blot outH4229 their nameH8034 from under heavenH8064: and I will makeH6213 ofH0854 thee a nationH1471 mightierH6099 and greaterH7227 than they. 15So I turnedH6437 and came downH3381 from the mountH2022, and the mountH2022 burnedH1197 with fireH0784: and the twoH8147 tablesH3871 of the covenantH1285 were in my twoH8147 handsH3027. 16And I lookedH7200, and, behold, ye had sinnedH2398 against the LORDH3068 your GodH0430, and had madeH6213 you a moltenH4541 calfH5695: ye had turned asideH5493 quicklyH4118 out of the wayH1870 which the LORDH3068 had commandedH6680 you. 17And I tookH8610 the twoH8147 tablesH3871, and castH7993 them out ofH5921 my twoH8147 handsH3027, and brakeH7665 them before your eyesH5869. 18And I fell downH5307 beforeH6440 the LORDH3068, as at the firstH7223, fortyH0705 daysH3117 and fortyH0705 nightsH3915: I did neither eatH0398 breadH3899, nor drinkH8354 waterH4325, because of all your sinsH2403 which ye sinnedH2398, in doingH6213 wickedlyH7451 in the sightH5869 of the LORDH3068, to provoke him to angerH3707. 19For I was afraidH3025 ofH6440 the angerH0639 and hot displeasureH2534, wherewith the LORDH3068 was wrothH7107 against you to destroyH8045 you. But the LORDH3068 hearkenedH8085 unto me at that timeH6471 also. 20And the LORDH3068 was veryH3966 angryH0599 with AaronH0175 to have destroyedH8045 him: and I prayedH6419 for AaronH0175 also the same timeH6256. 21And I tookH3947 your sinH2403, the calfH5695 which ye had madeH6213, and burntH8313 it with fireH0784, and stampedH3807 it, and groundH2912 it very smallH3190, even until it was as smallH1854 as dustH6083: and I castH7993 the dustH6083 thereof into the brookH5158 that descended outH3381 of the mountH2022. 22And at TaberahH8404, and at MassahH4532, and at Kibroth-hattaavahH6914, ye provoked the LORDH3068 to wrathH7107. 23Likewise when the LORDH3068 sentH7971 you from Kadesh-barneaH6947, sayingH0559, Go upH5927 and possessH3423 the landH0776 which I have givenH5414 you; then ye rebelledH4784 against the commandmentH6310 of the LORDH3068 your GodH0430, and ye believedH0539 him not, nor hearkenedH8085 to his voiceH6963. 24Ye have been rebelliousH4784 against the LORDH3068 from the dayH3117 that I knewH3045 you. 25Thus I fell downH5307 beforeH6440 the LORDH3068 fortyH0705 daysH3117 and fortyH0705 nightsH3915, as I fell downH5307 at the first; because the LORDH3068 had saidH0559 he would destroyH8045 you. 26I prayedH6419 therefore unto the LORDH3068, and saidH0559, O LordH0136 GODH3069, destroyH7843 not thy peopleH5971 and thine inheritanceH5159, which thou hast redeemedH6299 through thy greatnessH1433, which thou hast brought forthH3318 out of EgyptH4714 with a mightyH2389 handH3027. 27RememberH2142 thy servantsH5650, AbrahamH0085, IsaacH3327, and JacobH3290; lookH6437 not unto the stubbornnessH7190 of this peopleH5971, nor to their wickednessH7562, nor to their sinH2403: 28Lest the landH0776 whence thou broughtest us outH3318 sayH0559, Because the LORDH3068 was not ableH3201 to bringH0935 them into the landH0776 which he promisedH1696 them, and because he hatedH8135 them, he hath brought them outH3318 to slayH4191 them in the wildernessH4057. 29Yet they are thy peopleH5971 and thine inheritanceH5159, which thou broughtest outH3318 by thy mightyH1419 powerH3581 and by thy stretched outH5186 armH2220.

Deuteronomy: Chapter 10

1At that timeH6256 the LORDH3068 saidH0559 unto me, HewH6458 thee twoH8147 tablesH3871 of stoneH0068 like unto the firstH7223, and come upH5927 unto me into the mountH2022, and makeH6213 thee an arkH0727 of woodH6086. 2And I will writeH3789 on the tablesH3871 the wordsH1697 that were in the firstH7223 tablesH3871 which thou brakestH7665, and thou shalt putH7760 them in the arkH0727. 3And I madeH6213 an arkH0727 of shittimH7848 woodH6086, and hewedH6458 twoH8147 tablesH3871 of stoneH0068 like unto the firstH7223, and went upH5927 into the mountH2022, having the twoH8147 tablesH3871 in mine handH3027. 4And he wroteH3789 on the tablesH3871, according to the firstH7223 writingH4385, the tenH6235 commandmentsH1697, which the LORDH3068 spakeH1696 unto you in the mountH2022 out of the midstH8432 of the fireH0784 in the dayH3117 of the assemblyH6951: and the LORDH3068 gaveH5414 them unto me. 5And I turnedH6437 myself and came downH3381 from the mountH2022, and putH7760 the tablesH3871 in the arkH0727 which I had madeH6213; and there they be, as the LORDH3068 commandedH6680 me.

6And the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478 took their journeyH5265 from Beeroth of the children of JaakanH0885 to MoseraH4149: there AaronH0175 diedH4191, and there he was buriedH6912; and EleazarH0499 his sonH1121 ministered in the priests officeH3547 in his stead. 7From thence they journeyedH5265 unto GudgodahH1412; and from GudgodahH1412 to JotbathH3193, a landH0776 of riversH5158 of watersH4325.

8At that timeH6256 the LORDH3068 separatedH0914 the tribeH7626 of LeviH3878, to bearH5375 the arkH0727 of the covenantH1285 of the LORDH3068, to standH5975 beforeH6440 the LORDH3068 to ministerH8334 unto him, and to blessH1288 in his nameH8034, unto this dayH3117. 9Wherefore LeviH3878 hath no partH2506 nor inheritanceH5159 with his brethrenH0251; the LORDH3068 is his inheritanceH5159, according as the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 promisedH1696 him. 10And I stayedH5975 in the mountH2022, according to the firstH7223 timeH3117, fortyH0705 daysH3117 and fortyH0705 nightsH3915; and the LORDH3068 hearkenedH8085 unto me at that timeH6471 also, and the LORDH3068 wouldH0014 not destroyH7843 thee. 11And the LORDH3068 saidH0559 unto me, AriseH6965, takeH3212 thy journeyH4550 beforeH6440 the peopleH5971, that they may go inH0935 and possessH3423 the landH0776, which I swareH7650 unto their fathersH0001 to giveH5414 unto them.

12And now, IsraelH3478, what doth the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 requireH7592 of thee, but to fearH3372 the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430, to walkH3212 in all his waysH1870, and to loveH0157 him, and to serveH5647 the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 with all thy heartH3824 and with all thy soulH5315, 13To keepH8104 the commandmentsH4687 of the LORDH3068, and his statutesH2708, which I commandH6680 thee this dayH3117 for thy goodH2896? 14Behold, the heavenH8064 and the heavenH8064 of heavensH8064 is the LORDsH3068 thy GodH0430, the earthH0776 also , with all that therein is . 15Only the LORDH3068 had a delightH2836 in thy fathersH0001 to loveH0157 them, and he choseH0977 their seedH2233 afterH0310 them, even you above all peopleH5971, as it is this dayH3117. 16CircumciseH4135 therefore the foreskinH6190 of your heartH3824, and be no more stiffneckedH6203. 17For the LORDH3068 your GodH0430 is GodH0430 of godsH0430, and LordH0113 of lordsH0113, a greatH1419 GodH0410, a mightyH1368, and a terribleH3372, which regardethH5375 not personsH6440, nor takethH3947 rewardH7810: 18He doth executeH6213 the judgmentH4941 of the fatherlessH3490 and widowH0490, and lovethH0157 the strangerH1616, in givingH5414 him foodH3899 and raimentH8071. 19LoveH0157 ye therefore the strangerH1616: for ye were strangersH1616 in the landH0776 of EgyptH4714. 20Thou shalt fearH3372 the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430; him shalt thou serveH5647, and to him shalt thou cleaveH1692, and swearH7650 by his nameH8034. 21He is thy praiseH8416, and he is thy GodH0430, that hath doneH6213 for thee these greatH1419 and terrible thingsH3372, which thine eyesH5869 have seenH7200. 22Thy fathersH0001 went downH3381 into EgyptH4714 with threescore and tenH7657 personsH5315; and now the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 hath madeH7760 thee as the starsH3556 of heavenH8064 for multitudeH7230.

Deuteronomy: Chapter 11

1Therefore thou shalt loveH0157 the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430, and keepH8104 his chargeH4931, and his statutesH2708, and his judgmentsH4941, and his commandmentsH4687, alwayH3117. 2And knowH3045 ye this dayH3117: for I speak not with your childrenH1121 which have not knownH3045, and which have not seenH7200 the chastisementH4148 of the LORDH3068 your GodH0430, his greatnessH1433, his mightyH2389 handH3027, and his stretched outH5186 armH2220, 3And his miraclesH0226, and his actsH4639, which he didH6213 in the midstH8432 of EgyptH4714 unto PharaohH6547 the kingH4428 of EgyptH4714, and unto all his landH0776; 4And what he didH6213 unto the armyH2428 of EgyptH4714, unto their horsesH5483, and to their chariotsH7393; how he made the waterH4325 of the RedH5488 seaH3220 to overflowH6687 themH6440 as they pursuedH7291 afterH0310 you, and how the LORDH3068 hath destroyedH0006 them unto this dayH3117; 5And what he didH6213 unto you in the wildernessH4057, until ye cameH0935 into this placeH4725; 6And what he didH6213 unto DathanH1885 and AbiramH0048, the sonsH1121 of EliabH0446, the sonH1121 of ReubenH7205: how the earthH0776 openedH6475 her mouthH6310, and swallowed them upH1104, and their householdsH1004, and their tentsH0168, and all the substanceH3351 that was in their possessionH7272, in the midstH7130 of all IsraelH3478: 7But your eyesH5869 have seenH7200 all the greatH1419 actsH4639 of the LORDH3068 which he didH6213.

8Therefore shall ye keepH8104 all the commandmentsH4687 whichH0834 I commandH6680 you this dayH3117, that ye may be strongH2388, and go inH0935 and possessH3423 the landH0776, whither ye goH5674 to possessH3423 it; 9And that ye may prolongH0748 your daysH3117 in the landH0127, which the LORDH3068 swareH7650 unto your fathersH0001 to giveH5414 unto them and to their seedH2233, a landH0776 that flowethH2100 with milkH2461 and honeyH1706.

10For the landH0776, whither thou goest inH0935 to possessH3423 it, is not as the landH0776 of EgyptH4714, from whence ye came outH3318, where thou sowedstH2232 thy seedH2233, and wateredstH8248 it with thy footH7272, as a gardenH1588 of herbsH3419: 11But the landH0776, whither ye goH5674 to possessH3423 it, is a landH0776 of hillsH2022 and valleysH1237, and drinkethH8354 waterH4325 of the rainH4306 of heavenH8064: 12A landH0776 which the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 careth forH1875: the eyesH5869 of the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 are alwaysH8548 upon it, from the beginningH7225 of the yearH8141 even unto the endH0319 of the yearH8141.

13And it shall come to pass, if ye shall hearkenH8085 diligentlyH8085 unto my commandmentsH4687 which I commandH6680 you this dayH3117, to loveH0157 the LORDH3068 your GodH0430, and to serveH5647 him with all your heartH3824 and with all your soulH5315, 14That I will giveH5414 you the rainH4306 of your landH0776 in his due seasonH6256, the first rainH3138 and the latter rainH4456, that thou mayest gatherH0622 in thy cornH1715, and thy wineH8492, and thine oilH3323. 15And I will sendH5414 grassH6212 in thy fieldsH7704 for thy cattleH0929, that thou mayest eatH0398 and be fullH7646. 16Take heedH8104 to yourselves, that your heartH3824 be not deceivedH6601, and ye turn asideH5493, and serveH5647 otherH0312 godsH0430, and worshipH7812 them; 17And then the LORDsH3068 wrathH0639 be kindledH2734 against you, and he shut upH6113 the heavenH8064, that there be no rainH4306, and that the landH0127 yieldH5414 not her fruitH2981; and lest ye perishH0006 quicklyH4120 from off the goodH2896 landH0776 which the LORDH3068 givethH5414 you.

18Therefore shall ye lay upH7760 these my wordsH1697 in your heartH3824 and in your soulH5315, and bindH7194 them for a signH0226 upon your handH3027, that they may be as frontletsH2903 between your eyesH5869. 19And ye shall teachH3925 them your childrenH1121, speakingH1696 of them when thou sittestH3427 in thine houseH1004, and when thou walkestH3212 by the wayH1870, when thou liestH7901 down, and when thou risest upH6965. 20And thou shalt writeH3789 them upon the door postsH4201 of thine houseH1004, and upon thy gatesH8179: 21That your daysH3117 may be multipliedH7235, and the daysH3117 of your childrenH1121, in the landH0127 which the LORDH3068 swareH7650 unto your fathersH0001 to giveH5414 them, as the daysH3117 of heavenH8064 upon the earthH0776.

22For if ye shall diligentlyH8104 keepH8104 all these commandmentsH4687 which I commandH6680 you, to doH6213 them, to loveH0157 the LORDH3068 your GodH0430, to walkH3212 in all his waysH1870, and to cleaveH1692 unto him; 23Then will the LORDH3068 drive outH3423 all these nationsH1471 from beforeH6440 you, and ye shall possessH3423 greaterH1419 nationsH1471 and mightierH6099 than yourselves. 24Every placeH4725 whereon the solesH3709 of your feetH7272 shall treadH1869 shall be yours: from the wildernessH4057 and LebanonH3844, from the riverH5104, the riverH5104 EuphratesH6578, even unto the uttermostH0314 seaH3220 shall your coastH1366 be. 25There shall no manH0376 be able to standH3320 beforeH6440 you: for the LORDH3068 your GodH0430 shall layH5414 the fearH6343 of you and the dreadH4172 of you uponH6440 all the landH0776 that ye shall treadH1869 upon, as he hath saidH1696 unto you.

26BeholdH7200, I setH5414 beforeH6440 you this dayH3117 a blessingH1293 and a curseH7045; 27A blessingH1293, if ye obeyH8085 the commandmentsH4687 of the LORDH3068 your GodH0430, which I commandH6680 you this dayH3117: 28And a curseH7045, if ye will not obeyH8085 the commandmentsH4687 of the LORDH3068 your GodH0430, but turn asideH5493 out of the wayH1870 which I commandH6680 you this dayH3117, to goH3212 afterH0310 otherH0312 godsH0430, which ye have not knownH3045. 29And it shall come to pass, when the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 hath brought thee inH0935 unto the landH0776 whither thou goestH0935 to possessH3423 it, that thou shalt putH5414 the blessingH1293 upon mountH2022 GerizimH1630, and the curseH7045 upon mountH2022 EbalH5858. 30 Are they not on the other sideH5676 JordanH3383, byH0310 the wayH1870 where the sunH8121 goeth downH3996, in the landH0776 of the CanaanitesH3669, which dwellH3427 in the champaignH6160 over againstH4136 GilgalH1537, besideH0681 the plainsH0436 of MorehH4176? 31For ye shall pass overH5674 JordanH3383 to go inH0935 to possessH3423 the landH0776 which the LORDH3068 your GodH0430 givethH5414 you, and ye shall possessH3423 it, and dwellH3427 therein. 32And ye shall observeH8104 to doH6213 all the statutesH2706 and judgmentsH4941 which I setH5414 beforeH6440 you this dayH3117.

Deuteronomy: Chapter 12

1These are the statutesH2706 and judgmentsH4941, which ye shall observeH8104 to doH6213 in the landH0776, which the LORDH3068 GodH0430 of thy fathersH0001 givethH5414 thee to possessH3423 it, all the daysH3117 that ye liveH2416 upon the earthH0127. 2Ye shall utterlyH0006 destroyH0006 all the placesH4725, wherein the nationsH1471 whichH0834 ye shall possessH3423 servedH5647 their godsH0430, upon the highH7311 mountainsH2022, and upon the hillsH1389, and under every greenH7488 treeH6086: 3And ye shall overthrowH5422 their altarsH4196, and breakH7665 their pillarsH4676, and burnH8313 their grovesH0842 with fireH0784; and ye shall hew downH1438 the graven imagesH6456 of their godsH0430, and destroyH0006 the namesH8034 of them out of that placeH4725. 4Ye shall not do soH6213 unto the LORDH3068 your GodH0430.

5But unto the placeH4725 which the LORDH3068 your GodH0430 shall chooseH0977 out of all your tribesH7626 to putH7760 his nameH8034 there, even unto his habitationH7933 shall ye seekH1875, and thither thou shalt comeH0935: 6And thither ye shall bringH0935 your burnt offeringsH5930, and your sacrificesH2077, and your tithesH4643, and heave offeringsH8641 of your handH3027, and your vowsH5088, and your freewill offeringsH5071, and the firstlingsH1062 of your herdsH1241 and of your flocksH6629: 7And there ye shall eatH0398 beforeH6440 the LORDH3068 your GodH0430, and ye shall rejoiceH8055 in all that ye putH4916 your handH3027 unto, ye and your householdsH1004, wherein the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 hath blessedH1288 thee. 8Ye shall not doH6213 after all the things that we doH6213 here this dayH3117, every manH0376 whatsoever is rightH3477 in his own eyesH5869. 9For ye are not as yet comeH0935 to the restH4496 and to the inheritanceH5159, which the LORDH3068 your GodH0430 givethH5414 you. 10But when ye go overH5674 JordanH3383, and dwellH3427 in the landH0776 which the LORDH3068 your GodH0430 giveth you to inheritH5157, and when he giveth you restH5117 from all your enemiesH0341 round aboutH5439, so that ye dwellH3427 in safetyH0983; 11Then there shall be a placeH4725 which the LORDH3068 your GodH0430 shall chooseH0977 to cause his nameH8034 to dwellH7931 there; thither shall ye bringH0935 all that I commandH6680 you; your burnt offeringsH5930, and your sacrificesH2077, your tithesH4643, and the heave offeringH8641 of your handH3027, and all your choiceH4005 vowsH5088 which ye vowH5087 unto the LORDH3068: 12And ye shall rejoiceH8055 beforeH6440 the LORDH3068 your GodH0430, ye, and your sonsH1121, and your daughtersH1323, and your menservantsH5650, and your maidservantsH0519, and the LeviteH3881 that is within your gatesH8179; forasmuchH3588 as he hath no partH2506 nor inheritanceH5159 with you. 13Take heedH8104 to thyself that thou offerH5927 not thy burnt offeringsH5930 in every placeH4725 that thou seestH7200: 14But in the placeH4725 which the LORDH3068 shall chooseH0977 in oneH0259 of thy tribesH7626, there thou shalt offerH5927 thy burnt offeringsH5930, and there thou shalt doH6213 all that I commandH6680 thee. 15Notwithstanding thou mayest killH2076 and eatH0398 fleshH1320 in all thy gatesH8179, whatsoever thy soulH5315 lusteth afterH0185, according to the blessingH1293 of the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 which he hath givenH5414 thee: the uncleanH2931 and the cleanH2889 may eatH0398 thereof, as of the roebuckH6643, and as of the hartH0354. 16Only ye shall not eatH0398 the bloodH1818; ye shall pourH8210 it upon the earthH0776 as waterH4325.

17Thou mayestH3201 not eatH0398 within thy gatesH8179 the titheH4643 of thy cornH1715, or of thy wineH8492, or of thy oilH3323, or the firstlingsH1062 of thy herdsH1241 or of thy flockH6629, nor any of thy vowsH5088 which thou vowestH5087, nor thy freewill offeringsH5071, or heave offeringH8641 of thine handH3027: 18But thou must eatH0398 them beforeH6440 the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 in the placeH4725 which the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 shall chooseH0977, thou, and thy sonH1121, and thy daughterH1323, and thy manservantH5650, and thy maidservantH0519, and the LeviteH3881 that is within thy gatesH8179: and thou shalt rejoiceH8055 beforeH6440 the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 in all that thou puttestH4916 thine handsH3027 unto. 19Take heedH8104 to thyself that thou forsakeH5800 not the LeviteH3881 as long as thou livestH3117 upon the earthH0127.

20When the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 shall enlargeH7337 thy borderH1366, as he hath promisedH1696 thee, and thou shalt sayH0559, I will eatH0398 fleshH1320, because thy soulH5315 longethH0183 to eatH0398 fleshH1320; thou mayest eatH0398 fleshH1320, whatsoever thy soulH5315 lusteth afterH0185. 21If the placeH4725 which the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 hath chosenH0977 to putH7760 his nameH8034 there be too farH7368 from thee, then thou shalt killH2076 of thy herdH1241 and of thy flockH6629, which the LORDH3068 hath givenH5414 thee, as I have commandedH6680 thee, and thou shalt eatH0398 in thy gatesH8179 whatsoever thy soulH5315 lusteth afterH0185. 22Even as the roebuckH6643 and the hartH0354 is eatenH0398, so thou shalt eatH0398 them: the uncleanH2931 and the cleanH2889 shall eatH0398 of them alikeH3162. 23Only be sureH2388 that thou eatH0398 not the bloodH1818: for the bloodH1818 is the lifeH5315; and thou mayest not eatH0398 the lifeH5315 with the fleshH1320. 24Thou shalt not eatH0398 it; thou shalt pourH8210 it upon the earthH0776 as waterH4325. 25Thou shalt not eatH0398 it; that it may go wellH3190 with thee, and with thy childrenH1121 afterH0310 thee, when thou shalt doH6213 that which is rightH3477 in the sightH5869 of the LORDH3068. 26Only thy holy thingsH6944 which thou hast, and thy vowsH5088, thou shalt takeH5375, and goH0935 unto the placeH4725 which the LORDH3068 shall chooseH0977: 27And thou shalt offerH6213 thy burnt offeringsH5930, the fleshH1320 and the bloodH1818, upon the altarH4196 of the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430: and the bloodH1818 of thy sacrificesH2077 shall be poured outH8210 upon the altarH4196 of the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430, and thou shalt eatH0398 the fleshH1320. 28ObserveH8104 and hearH8085 all these wordsH1697 which I commandH6680 thee, that it may go wellH3190 with thee, and with thy childrenH1121 afterH0310 thee forH5704 everH5769, when thou doestH6213 that which is goodH2896 and rightH3477 in the sightH5869 of the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430.

29When the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 shall cut offH3772 the nationsH1471 from beforeH6440 thee, whither thou goestH0935 to possessH3423 them, and thou succeedestH3423 them, and dwellestH3427 in their landH0776; 30Take heedH8104 to thyself that thou be not snaredH5367 by followingH0310 them, afterH0310 that they be destroyedH8045 from beforeH6440 thee; and that thou enquireH1875 not after their godsH0430, sayingH0559, How did these nationsH1471 serveH5647 their godsH0430? even so will I doH6213 likewiseH1571. 31Thou shalt not doH6213 so unto the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430: for every abominationH8441 to the LORDH3068, which he hatethH8130, have they doneH6213 unto their godsH0430; for even their sonsH1121 and their daughtersH1323 they have burntH8313 in the fireH0784 to their godsH0430. 32What thingH1697 soever I commandH6680 you, observeH8104 to doH6213 it: thou shalt not addH3254 thereto, nor diminishH1639 from it.

1If there ariseH6965 amongH7130 you a prophetH5030, or a dreamerH2492 of dreamsH2472, and givethH5414 thee a signH0226 or a wonderH4159, 2And the signH0226 or the wonderH4159 come to passH0935, whereof he spakeH1696 unto thee, sayingH0559, Let us goH3212 afterH0310 otherH0312 godsH0430, which thou hast not knownH3045, and let us serveH5647 them; 3Thou shalt not hearkenH8085 unto the wordsH1697 of that prophetH5030, or that dreamerH2492 of dreamsH2472: for the LORDH3068 your GodH0430 provethH5254 you, to knowH3045 whether yeH3426 loveH0157 the LORDH3068 your GodH0430 with all your heartH3824 and with all your soulH5315. 4Ye shall walkH3212 afterH0310 the LORDH3068 your GodH0430, and fearH3372 him, and keepH8104 his commandmentsH4687, and obeyH8085 his voiceH6963, and ye shall serveH5647 him, and cleaveH1692 unto him. 5And that prophetH5030, or that dreamerH2492 of dreamsH2472, shall be put to deathH4191; because he hath spokenH1696 to turnH5627 you away from the LORDH3068 your GodH0430, which brought you outH3318 of the landH0776 of EgyptH4714, and redeemedH6299 you out of the houseH1004 of bondageH5650, to thrustH5080 thee out of the wayH1870 which the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 commandedH6680 thee to walk inH3212. So shalt thou putH1197 the evilH7451 awayH1197 from the midstH7130 of thee.

6If thy brotherH0251, the sonH1121 of thy motherH0517, or thy sonH1121, or thy daughterH1323, or the wifeH0802 of thy bosomH2436, or thy friendH7453, which is as thine own soulH5315, enticeH5496 thee secretlyH5643, sayingH0559, Let us goH3212 and serveH5647 otherH0312 godsH0430, which thou hast not knownH3045, thou, nor thy fathersH0001; 7 Namely , of the godsH0430 of the peopleH5971 which are round aboutH5439 you, nighH7138 unto thee, or far offH7350 from thee, from the one endH7097 of the earthH0776 even unto the other endH7097 of the earthH0776; 8Thou shalt not consentH0014 unto him, nor hearkenH8085 unto him; neither shall thine eyeH5869 pityH2347 him, neither shalt thou spareH2550, neither shalt thou concealH3680 him: 9But thou shalt surelyH2026 killH2026 him; thine handH3027 shall be firstH7223 upon him to put him to deathH4191, and afterwardsH0314 the handH3027 of all the peopleH5971. 10And thou shalt stoneH5619 him with stonesH0068, that he dieH4191; because he hath soughtH1245 to thrust thee awayH5080 from the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430, which brought thee outH3318 of the landH0776 of EgyptH4714, from the houseH1004 of bondageH5650. 11And all IsraelH3478 shall hearH8085, and fearH3372, and shall doH6213 no moreH3254 anyH1697 such wickednessH7451 as this is amongH7130 you.

12If thou shalt hearH8085 say in oneH0259 of thy citiesH5892, which the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 hath givenH5414 thee to dwellH3427 there, sayingH0559, 13 Certain menH0582, the childrenH1121 of BelialH1100, are gone outH3318 from amongH7130 you, and have withdrawnH5080 the inhabitantsH3427 of their cityH5892, sayingH0559, Let us goH3212 and serveH5647 otherH0312 godsH0430, which ye have not knownH3045; 14Then shalt thou enquireH1875, and make searchH2713, and askH7592 diligentlyH3190; and, behold, if it be truthH0571, and the thingH1697 certainH3559, that suchH2063 abominationH8441 is wroughtH6213 amongH7130 you; 15Thou shalt surelyH5221 smiteH5221 the inhabitantsH3427 of that cityH5892 with the edgeH6310 of the swordH2719, destroying it utterlyH2763, and all that is therein, and the cattleH0929 thereof, with the edgeH6310 of the swordH2719. 16And thou shalt gatherH6908 all the spoilH7998 of it into the midstH8432 of the streetH7339 thereof, and shalt burnH8313 with fireH0784 the cityH5892, and all the spoilH7998 thereof every whitH3632, for the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430: and it shall be an heapH8510 for everH5769; it shall not be built againH1129. 17And there shall cleaveH1692 noughtH3972 of the cursed thingH2764 to thine handH3027: that the LORDH3068 may turnH7725 from the fiercenessH2740 of his angerH0639, and shewH5414 thee mercyH7356, and have compassionH7355 upon thee, and multiplyH7235 thee, as he hath swornH7650 unto thy fathersH0001; 18When thou shalt hearkenH8085 to the voiceH6963 of the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430, to keepH8104 all his commandmentsH4687 which I commandH6680 thee this dayH3117, to doH6213 that which is rightH3477 in the eyesH5869 of the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430.

Deuteronomy: Chapter 14

1Ye are the childrenH1121 of the LORDH3068 your GodH0430: ye shall not cutH1413 yourselves, nor makeH7760 any baldnessH7144 between your eyesH5869 for the deadH4191. 2For thou art an holyH6918 peopleH5971 unto the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430, and the LORDH3068 hath chosenH0977 thee to be a peculiarH5459 peopleH5971 unto himself, above all the nationsH5971 that are uponH6440 the earthH0127.

3Thou shalt not eatH0398 any abominable thingH8441. 4These are the beastsH0929 which ye shall eatH0398: the oxH7794, the sheepH7716, and the goatH5795, 5The hartH0354, and the roebuckH6643, and the fallow deerH3180, and the wild goatH0689, and the pygargH1788, and the wild oxH8377, and the chamoisH2169. 6And every beastH0929 that partethH6536 the hoofH6541, and cleavethH8157 the cleftH8156 into twoH8147 clawsH6541, and chewethH5927 the cudH1625 among the beastsH0929, that ye shall eatH0398. 7Nevertheless these ye shall not eatH0398 of them that chewH5927 the cudH1625, or of them that divideH6536 the clovenH8156 hoofH6541; as the camelH1581, and the hareH0768, and the coneyH8227: for they chewH5927 the cudH1625, but divideH6536 not the hoofH6541; therefore they are uncleanH2931 unto you. 8And the swineH2386, because it dividethH6536 the hoofH6541, yet cheweth not the cudH1625, it is uncleanH2931 unto you: ye shall not eatH0398 of their fleshH1320, nor touchH5060 their dead carcaseH5038.

9These ye shall eatH0398 of all that are in the watersH4325: all that have finsH5579 and scalesH7193 shall ye eatH0398: 10And whatsoever hath not finsH5579 and scalesH7193 ye may not eatH0398; it is uncleanH2931 unto you.

11 Of all cleanH2889 birdsH6833 ye shall eatH0398. 12But these are they of which ye shall not eatH0398: the eagleH5404, and the ossifrageH6538, and the osprayH5822, 13And the gledeH7201, and the kiteH0344, and the vultureH1772 after his kindH4327, 14And every ravenH6158 after his kindH4327, 15And the owlH1323, and the night hawkH8464, and the cuckowH7828, and the hawkH5322 after his kindH4327, 16The little owlH3563, and the great owlH3244, and the swanH8580, 17And the pelicanH6893, and the gier eagleH7360, and the cormorantH7994, 18And the storkH2624, and the heronH0601 after her kindH4327, and the lapwingH1744, and the batH5847. 19And every creeping thingH8318 that fliethH5775 is uncleanH2931 unto you: they shall not be eatenH0398. 20 But of all cleanH2889 fowlsH5775 ye may eatH0398.

21Ye shall not eatH0398 of any thing that dieth of itselfH5038: thou shalt giveH5414 it unto the strangerH1616 that is in thy gatesH8179, that he may eatH0398 it; or thou mayest sellH4376 it unto an alienH5237: for thou art an holyH6918 peopleH5971 unto the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430. Thou shalt not seetheH1310 a kidH1423 in his mothersH0517 milkH2461.

22Thou shalt trulyH6237 titheH6237 all the increaseH8393 of thy seedH2233, that the fieldH7704 bringeth forthH3318 yearH8141 by yearH8141. 23And thou shalt eatH0398 beforeH6440 the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430, in the placeH4725 which he shall chooseH0977 to placeH7931 his nameH8034 there, the titheH4643 of thy cornH1715, of thy wineH8492, and of thine oilH3323, and the firstlingsH1062 of thy herdsH1241 and of thy flocksH6629; that thou mayest learnH3925 to fearH3372 the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 alwaysH3117. 24And if the wayH1870 be too longH7235 for thee, so thatH3588 thou art not ableH3201 to carryH5375 it; or if the placeH4725 be too farH7368 from thee, which the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 shall chooseH0977 to setH7760 his nameH8034 there, when the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 hath blessedH1288 thee: 25Then shalt thou turnH5414 it into moneyH3701, and bind upH6696 the moneyH3701 in thine handH3027, and shalt goH1980 unto the placeH4725 which the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 shall chooseH0977: 26And thou shalt bestowH5414 that moneyH3701 for whatsoever thy soulH5315 lusteth afterH0183, for oxenH1241, or for sheepH6629, or for wineH3196, or for strong drinkH7941, or for whatsoever thy soulH5315 desirethH7592: and thou shalt eatH0398 there beforeH6440 the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430, and thou shalt rejoiceH8055, thou, and thine householdH1004, 27And the LeviteH3881 that is within thy gatesH8179; thou shalt not forsakeH5800 him; for he hath no partH2506 nor inheritanceH5159 with thee.

28At the endH7097 of threeH7969 yearsH8141 thou shalt bring forthH3318 all the titheH4643 of thine increaseH8393 the same yearH8141, and shalt lay it upH3240 within thy gatesH8179: 29And the LeviteH3881, (because he hath no partH2506 nor inheritanceH5159 with thee,) and the strangerH1616, and the fatherlessH3490, and the widowH0490, which are within thy gatesH8179, shall comeH0935, and shall eatH0398 and be satisfiedH7646; that the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 may blessH1288 thee in all the workH4639 of thine handH3027 which thou doestH6213.

Deuteronomy: Chapter 15

1At the endH7093 of every sevenH7651 yearsH8141 thou shalt makeH6213 a releaseH8059. 2And this is the mannerH1697 of the releaseH8059: Every creditorH1167 that lendethH5383 ought unto his neighbourH7453 shall releaseH8058 it; he shall not exactH5065 it of his neighbourH7453, or of his brotherH0251; because it is calledH7121 the LORDsH3068 releaseH8059. 3Of a foreignerH5237 thou mayest exactH5065 it again: but that which is thine with thy brotherH0251 thine handH3027 shall releaseH8058; 4SaveH0657 when there shall be no poorH0034 among you; for the LORDH3068 shall greatlyH1288 blessH1288 thee in the landH0776 which the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 givethH5414 thee for an inheritanceH5159 to possessH3423 it: 5Only if thou carefullyH8085 hearkenH8085 unto the voiceH6963 of the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430, to observeH8104 to doH6213 all these commandmentsH4687 which I commandH6680 thee this dayH3117. 6For the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 blessethH1288 thee, as he promisedH1696 thee: and thou shalt lendH5670 unto manyH7227 nationsH1471, but thou shalt not borrowH5670; and thou shalt reignH4910 over manyH7227 nationsH1471, but they shall not reignH4910 over thee.

7If there be among you a poor manH0034 of oneH0259 of thy brethrenH0251 within anyH0259 of thy gatesH8179 in thy landH0776 which the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 givethH5414 thee, thou shalt not hardenH0553 thine heartH3824, nor shutH7092 thine handH3027 from thy poorH0034 brotherH0251: 8But thou shalt openH6605 thine handH3027 wideH6605 unto him, and shalt surelyH5670 lendH5670 him sufficientH1767 for his needH4270, in that which he wantethH2637. 9BewareH8104 that there be not a thoughtH1697 in thy wickedH1100 heartH3824, sayingH0559, The seventhH7651 yearH8141, the yearH8141 of releaseH8059, is at handH7126; and thine eyeH5869 be evilH7489 against thy poorH0034 brotherH0251, and thou givestH5414 him nought; and he cryH7121 unto the LORDH3068 against thee, and it be sinH2399 unto thee. 10Thou shalt surelyH5414 giveH5414 him, and thine heartH3824 shall not be grievedH3415 when thou givestH5414 unto him: becauseH1558 that for this thingH1697 the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 shall blessH1288 thee in all thy worksH4639, and in all that thou puttestH4916 thine handH3027 unto. 11For the poorH0034 shall never ceaseH2308 out ofH7130 the landH0776: therefore I commandH6680 thee, sayingH0559, Thou shalt openH6605 thine handH3027 wideH6605 unto thy brotherH0251, to thy poorH6041, and to thy needyH0034, in thy landH0776.

12 And if thy brotherH0251, an Hebrew manH5680, or an Hebrew womanH5680, be soldH4376 unto thee, and serveH5647 thee sixH8337 yearsH8141; then in the seventhH7637 yearH8141 thou shalt let him goH7971 freeH2670 from thee. 13And when thou sendestH7971 him out freeH2670 from thee, thou shalt not let him go awayH7971 emptyH7387: 14Thou shalt furnishH6059 him liberallyH6059 out of thy flockH6629, and out of thy floorH1637, and out of thy winepressH3342: of that wherewith the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 hath blessedH1288 thee thou shalt giveH5414 unto him. 15And thou shalt rememberH2142 that thou wast a bondmanH5650 in the landH0776 of EgyptH4714, and the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 redeemedH6299 thee: therefore I commandH6680 thee this thingH1697 to dayH3117. 16And it shall be, if he sayH0559 unto thee, I will not go awayH3318 from thee; because he lovethH0157 thee and thine houseH1004, because he is wellH2895 with thee; 17Then thou shalt takeH3947 an aulH4836, and thrustH5414 it through his earH0241 unto the doorH1817, and he shall be thy servantH5650 for everH5769. And also unto thy maidservantH0519 thou shalt doH6213 likewise. 18It shall not seem hardH7185 unto theeH5869, when thou sendest him awayH7971 freeH2670 from thee; for he hath been worthH7939 a doubleH4932 hired servantH7916 to thee , in servingH5647 thee sixH8337 yearsH8141: and the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 shall blessH1288 thee in all that thou doestH6213.

19All the firstlingH1060 malesH2145 that comeH3205 of thy herdH1241 and of thy flockH6629 thou shalt sanctifyH6942 unto the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430: thou shalt do no workH5647 with the firstlingH1060 of thy bullockH7794, nor shearH1494 the firstlingH1060 of thy sheepH6629. 20Thou shalt eatH0398 it beforeH6440 the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 yearH8141 by yearH8141 in the placeH4725 which the LORDH3068 shall chooseH0977, thou and thy householdH1004. 21And if there be any blemishH3971 therein, as if it be lameH6455, or blindH5787, or have any illH7451 blemishH3971, thou shalt not sacrificeH2076 it unto the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430. 22Thou shalt eatH0398 it within thy gatesH8179: the uncleanH2931 and the cleanH2889 person shall eat it alikeH3162, as the roebuckH6643, and as the hartH0354. 23Only thou shalt not eatH0398 the bloodH1818 thereof; thou shalt pourH8210 it upon the groundH0776 as waterH4325.

Deuteronomy: Chapter 16

1ObserveH8104 the monthH2320 of AbibH0024, and keepH6213 the passoverH6453 unto the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430: for in the monthH2320 of AbibH0024 the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 brought thee forthH3318 out of EgyptH4714 by nightH3915. 2Thou shalt therefore sacrificeH2076 the passoverH6453 unto the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430, of the flockH6629 and the herdH1241, in the placeH4725 which the LORDH3068 shall chooseH0977 to placeH7931 his nameH8034 there. 3Thou shalt eatH0398 no leavened breadH2557 with it; sevenH7651 daysH3117 shalt thou eatH0398 unleavened breadH4682 therewith, even the breadH3899 of afflictionH6040; for thou camest forthH3318 out of the landH0776 of EgyptH4714 in hasteH2649: that thou mayest rememberH2142 the dayH3117 when thou camest forthH3318 out of the landH0776 of EgyptH4714 all the daysH3117 of thy lifeH2416. 4And there shall be no leavened breadH7603 seenH7200 with thee in all thy coastH1366 sevenH7651 daysH3117; neither shall there any thing of the fleshH1320, which thou sacrificedstH2076 the firstH7223 dayH3117 at evenH6153, remainH3885 all night until the morningH1242. 5Thou mayestH3201 not sacrificeH2076 the passoverH6453 within anyH0259 of thy gatesH8179, which the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 givethH5414 thee: 6But at the placeH4725 which the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 shall chooseH0977 to placeH7931 his nameH8034 in, there thou shalt sacrificeH2076 the passoverH6453 at evenH6153, at the going downH0935 of the sunH8121, at the seasonH4150 that thou camest forthH3318 out of EgyptH4714. 7And thou shalt roastH1310 and eatH0398 it in the placeH4725 which the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 shall chooseH0977: and thou shalt turnH6437 in the morningH1242, and goH1980 unto thy tentsH0168. 8SixH8337 daysH3117 thou shalt eatH0398 unleavened breadH4682: and on the seventhH7637 dayH3117 shall be a solemn assemblyH6116 to the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430: thou shalt doH6213 no workH4399 therein .

9SevenH7651 weeksH7620 shalt thou numberH5608 unto thee: beginH2490 to numberH5608 the sevenH7651 weeksH7620 from such time as thou beginnestH2490 to put the sickleH2770 to the cornH7054. 10And thou shalt keepH6213 the feastH2282 of weeksH7620 unto the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 with a tributeH4530 of a freewill offeringH5071 of thine handH3027, which thou shalt giveH5414 unto the Lord thy God , according as the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 hath blessedH1288 thee: 11And thou shalt rejoiceH8055 beforeH6440 the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430, thou, and thy sonH1121, and thy daughterH1323, and thy manservantH5650, and thy maidservantH0519, and the LeviteH3881 that is within thy gatesH8179, and the strangerH1616, and the fatherlessH3490, and the widowH0490, that are amongH7130 you, in the placeH4725 which the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 hath chosenH0977 to placeH7931 his nameH8034 there. 12And thou shalt rememberH2142 that thou wast a bondmanH5650 in EgyptH4714: and thou shalt observeH8104 and doH6213 these statutesH2706.

13Thou shalt observeH6213 the feastH2282 of tabernaclesH5521 sevenH7651 daysH3117, after that thou hast gatheredH0622 in thy cornH1637 and thy wineH3342: 14And thou shalt rejoiceH8055 in thy feastH2282, thou, and thy sonH1121, and thy daughterH1323, and thy manservantH5650, and thy maidservantH0519, and the LeviteH3881, the strangerH1616, and the fatherlessH3490, and the widowH0490, that are within thy gatesH8179. 15SevenH7651 daysH3117 shalt thou keep a solemn feastH2287 unto the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 in the placeH4725 which the LORDH3068 shall chooseH0977: because the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 shall blessH1288 thee in all thine increaseH8393, and in all the worksH4639 of thine handsH3027, therefore thou shalt surely rejoiceH8056.

16ThreeH7969 timesH6471 in a yearH8141 shall all thy malesH2138 appearH7200 beforeH6440 the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 in the placeH4725 which he shall chooseH0977; in the feastH2282 of unleavened breadH4682, and in the feastH2282 of weeksH7620, and in the feastH2282 of tabernaclesH5521: and they shall not appearH7200 beforeH6440 the LORDH3068 emptyH7387: 17Every manH0376 ass=tip id=~16533 href=/addedText.htm#add onclick="bC(this);"> shall give as he is ableH4979, according to the blessingH1293 of the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 which he hath givenH5414 thee.

18JudgesH8199 and officersH7860 shalt thou makeH5414 thee in all thy gatesH8179, which the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 givethH5414 thee, throughout thy tribesH7626: and they shall judgeH8199 the peopleH5971 with justH6664 judgmentH4941. 19Thou shalt not wrestH5186 judgmentH4941; thou shalt not respectH5234 personsH6440, neither takeH3947 a giftH7810: for a giftH7810 doth blindH5786 the eyesH5869 of the wiseH2450, and pervertH5557 the wordsH1697 of the righteousH6662. 20That which is altogetherH6664 justH6664 shalt thou followH7291, that thou mayest liveH2421, and inheritH3423 the landH0776 which the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 givethH5414 thee.

21Thou shalt not plantH5193 thee a groveH0842 of any treesH6086 near untoH0681 the altarH4196 of the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430, which thou shalt makeH6213 thee. 22Neither shalt thou set thee upH6965 any imageH4676; which the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 hatethH8130.

Deuteronomy: Chapter 17

1Thou shalt not sacrificeH2076 unto the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 any bullockH7794, or sheepH7716, wherein is blemishH3971, or any evilfavourednessH7451: for that is an abominationH8441 unto the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430.

2If there be foundH4672 amongH7130 you, within anyH0259 of thy gatesH8179 which the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 givethH5414 thee, manH0376 or womanH0802, that hath wroughtH6213 wickednessH7451 in the sightH5869 of the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430, in transgressingH5674 his covenantH1285, 3And hath goneH3212 and servedH5647 otherH0312 godsH0430, and worshippedH7812 them, either the sunH8121, or moonH3394, or any of the hostH6635 of heavenH8064, which I have not commandedH6680; 4And it be toldH5046 thee, and thou hast heardH8085 of it , and enquiredH1875 diligentlyH3190, and, behold, it be trueH0571, and the thingH1697 certainH3559, that such abominationH8441 is wroughtH6213 in IsraelH3478: 5Then shalt thou bring forthH3318 that manH0376 or that womanH0802, which have committedH6213 that wickedH7451 thingH1697, unto thy gatesH8179, even that manH0376 or that womanH0802, and shalt stoneH5619 them with stonesH0068, till they dieH4191. 6At the mouthH6310 of twoH8147 witnessesH5707, or threeH7969 witnessesH5707, shall he that is worthy of deathH4191 be put to deathH4191; but at the mouthH6310 of oneH0259 witnessH5707 he shall not be put to deathH4191. 7The handsH3027 of the witnessesH5707 shall be firstH7223 upon him to put him to deathH4191, and afterwardH0314 the handsH3027 of all the peopleH5971. So thou shalt putH1197 the evilH7451 awayH1197 from amongH7130 you.

8If there arise a matterH1697 too hardH6381 for thee in judgmentH4941, between bloodH1818 and bloodH1818, between pleaH1779 and pleaH1779, and between strokeH5061 and strokeH5061, being mattersH1697 of controversyH7379 within thy gatesH8179: then shalt thou ariseH6965, and get thee upH5927 into the placeH4725 which the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 shall chooseH0977; 9And thou shalt comeH0935 unto the priestsH3548 the LevitesH3881, and unto the judgeH8199 that shall be in those daysH3117, and enquireH1875; and they shall shewH5046 thee the sentenceH1697 of judgmentH4941: 10And thou shalt doH6213 according to the sentenceH6310, which they of that placeH4725 which the LORDH3068 shall chooseH0977 shall shewH5046 thee; and thou shalt observeH8104 to doH6213 according to all that they informH3384 thee: 11According to the sentenceH6310 of the lawH8451 which they shall teachH3384 thee, and according to the judgmentH4941 which they shall tellH0559 thee, thou shalt doH6213: thou shalt not declineH5493 from the sentenceH1697 which they shall shewH5046 thee, to the right handH3225, nor to the leftH8040. 12And the manH0376 that will doH6213 presumptuouslyH2087, and will not hearkenH8085 unto the priestH3548 that standethH5975 to ministerH8334 there before the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430, or unto the judgeH8199, even that manH0376 shall dieH4191: and thou shalt put awayH1197 the evilH7451 from IsraelH3478. 13And all the peopleH5971 shall hearH8085, and fearH3372, and do no more presumptuouslyH2102.

14When thou art comeH0935 unto the landH0776 which the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 givethH5414 thee, and shalt possessH3423 it, and shalt dwellH3427 therein, and shalt sayH0559, I will setH7760 a kingH4428 over me, like as all the nationsH1471 that are aboutH5439 me; 15Thou shalt in any wiseH7760 setH7760 him kingH4428 over thee, whom the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 shall chooseH0977: one from amongH7130 thy brethrenH0251 shalt thou setH7760 kingH4428 over thee: thou mayestH3201 not setH5414 a strangerH5237 over thee, which is not thy brotherH0251. 16But he shall not multiplyH7235 horsesH5483 to himself, nor cause the peopleH5971 to returnH7725 to EgyptH4714, to the end that he should multiplyH7235 horsesH5483: forasmuch as the LORDH3068 hath saidH0559 unto you, Ye shall henceforthH3254 returnH7725 no more that wayH1870. 17Neither shall he multiplyH7235 wivesH0802 to himself, that his heartH3824 turnH5493 not away: neither shall he greatlyH3966 multiplyH7235 to himself silverH3701 and goldH2091. 18And it shall be, when he sittethH3427 upon the throneH3678 of his kingdomH4467, that he shall writeH3789 him a copyH4932 of this lawH8451 in a bookH5612 out of that which is beforeH6440 the priestsH3548 the LevitesH3881: 19And it shall be with him, and he shall readH7121 therein all the daysH3117 of his lifeH2416: that he may learnH3925 to fearH3372 the LORDH3068 his GodH0430, to keepH8104 all the wordsH1697 of this lawH8451 and these statutesH2706, to doH6213 them: 20That his heartH3824 be not lifted upH7311 above his brethrenH0251, and that he turn not asideH5493 from the commandmentH4687, to the right handH3225, or to the leftH8040: to the end that he may prolongH0748 his daysH3117 in his kingdomH4467, he, and his childrenH1121, in the midstH7130 of IsraelH3478.

Deuteronomy: Chapter 18

1The priestsH3548 the LevitesH3881, and all the tribeH7626 of LeviH3878, shall have no partH2506 nor inheritanceH5159 with IsraelH3478: they shall eatH0398 the offeringsH0801 of the LORDH3068 made by fireH0801, and his inheritanceH5159. 2Therefore shall they have no inheritanceH5159 amongH7130 their brethrenH0251: the LORDH3068 is their inheritanceH5159, as he hath saidH1696 unto them.

3And this shall be the priestsH3548 dueH4941 from the peopleH5971, from them that offerH2076 a sacrificeH2077, whether it be oxH7794 or sheepH7716; and they shall giveH5414 unto the priestH3548 the shoulderH2220, and the two cheeksH3895, and the mawH6896. 4The firstfruitH7225 also of thy cornH1715, of thy wineH8492, and of thine oilH3323, and the firstH7225 of the fleeceH1488 of thy sheepH6629, shalt thou giveH5414 him. 5For the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 hath chosenH0977 him out of all thy tribesH7626, to standH5975 to ministerH8334 in the nameH8034 of the LORDH3068, him and his sonsH1121 for everH3117.

6And if a LeviteH3881 comeH0935 from anyH0259 of thy gatesH8179 out of all IsraelH3478, where he sojournedH1481, and comeH0935 with all the desireH0185 of his mindH5315 unto the placeH4725 which the LORDH3068 shall chooseH0977; 7Then he shall ministerH8334 in the nameH8034 of the LORDH3068 his GodH0430, as all his brethrenH0251 the LevitesH3881 do , which standH5975 there beforeH6440 the LORDH3068. 8They shall have like portionsH2506 to eatH0398, beside that which cometh of the saleH4465 of his patrimonyH0001.

9When thou art comeH0935 into the landH0776 which the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 givethH5414 thee, thou shalt not learnH3925 to doH6213 after the abominationsH8441 of those nationsH1471. 10There shall not be foundH4672 among you any one that maketh his sonH1121 or his daughterH1323 to passH5674 through the fireH0784, or that usethH7080 divinationH7081, or an observer of timesH6049, or an enchanterH5172, or a witchH3784, 11Or a charmerH2266, or a consulterH7592 with familiar spiritsH0178, or a wizardH3049, or a necromancerH1875. 12For all that doH6213 these things are an abominationH8441 unto the LORDH3068: and becauseH1558 of these abominationsH8441 the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 doth drive them outH3423 from beforeH6440 thee. 13Thou shalt be perfectH8549 with the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430. 14For these nationsH1471, which thou shalt possessH3423, hearkenedH8085 unto observers of timesH6049, and unto divinersH7080: but as for thee, the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 hath not sufferedH5414 thee so to do .

15The LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 will raise upH6965 unto thee a ProphetH5030 from the midstH7130 of thee, of thy brethrenH0251, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearkenH8085; 16According to all that thou desiredstH7592 of the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 in HorebH2722 in the dayH3117 of the assemblyH6951, sayingH0559, Let me not hearH8085 againH3254 the voiceH6963 of the LORDH3068 my GodH0430, neither let me seeH7200 this greatH1419 fireH0784 any more, that I dieH4191 not. 17And the LORDH3068 saidH0559 unto me, They have wellH3190 spoken that which they have spokenH1696. 18I will raise them upH6965 a ProphetH5030 from amongH7130 their brethrenH0251, like unto thee, and will putH5414 my wordsH1697 in his mouthH6310; and he shall speakH1696 unto them all that I shall commandH6680 him. 19And it shall come to pass, that whosoeverH0376 will not hearkenH8085 unto my wordsH1697 which he shall speakH1696 in my nameH8034, I will requireH1875 it of him. 20But the prophetH5030, which shall presumeH2102 to speakH1696 a wordH1697 in my nameH8034, which I have not commandedH6680 him to speakH1696, or that shall speakH1696 in the nameH8034 of otherH0312 godsH0430, even that prophetH5030 shall dieH4191. 21And if thou sayH0559 in thine heartH3824, How shall we knowH3045 the wordH1697 which the LORDH3068 hath not spokenH1696? 22When a prophetH5030 speakethH1696 in the nameH8034 of the LORDH3068, if the thingH1697 follow not, nor come to passH0935, that is the thingH1697 which the LORDH3068 hath not spokenH1696, but the prophetH5030 hath spokenH1696 it presumptuouslyH2087: thou shalt not be afraidH1481 of him.

Deuteronomy: Chapter 19

1When the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 hath cut offH3772 the nationsH1471, whose landH0776 the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 givethH5414 thee, and thou succeedestH3423 them, and dwellestH3427 in their citiesH5892, and in their housesH1004; 2Thou shalt separateH0914 threeH7969 citiesH5892 for thee in the midstH8432 of thy landH0776, which the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 givethH5414 thee to possessH3423 it. 3Thou shalt prepareH3559 thee a wayH1870, and divide the coastsH1366 of thy landH0776, which the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 giveth thee to inheritH5157, into three partsH8027, that every slayerH7523 may fleeH5127 thither.

4And this is the caseH1697 of the slayerH7523, which shall fleeH5127 thither, that he may liveH2425: Whoso killethH5221 his neighbourH7453 ignorantlyH1097, whom he hatedH8130 not in timeH8543 pastH8032; 5As when a man goethH0935 into the woodH3293 with his neighbourH7453 to hewH2404 woodH6086, and his handH3027 fetcheth a strokeH5080 with the axeH1631 to cut downH3772 the treeH6086, and the headH1270 slippethH5394 from the helveH6086, and lightethH4672 upon his neighbourH7453, that he dieH4191; he shall fleeH5127 unto oneH0259 of those citiesH5892, and liveH2425: 6Lest the avengerH1350 of the bloodH1818 pursueH7291 the slayerH0310, whileH3588 his heartH3824 is hotH3179, and overtakeH5381 him, because the wayH1870 is longH7235, and slayH5221 himH5315; whereas he was not worthyH4941 of deathH4194, inasmuch asH3588 he hatedH8130 him not in timeH8543 pastH8032. 7Wherefore I commandH6680 thee, sayingH0559, Thou shalt separateH0914 threeH7969 citiesH5892 for thee. 8And if the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 enlargeH7337 thy coastH1366, as he hath swornH7650 unto thy fathersH0001, and giveH5414 thee all the landH0776 which he promisedH1696 to giveH5414 unto thy fathersH0001; 9If thou shalt keepH8104 all these commandmentsH4687 to doH6213 them, which I commandH6680 thee this dayH3117, to loveH0157 the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430, and to walkH3212 everH3117 in his waysH1870; then shalt thou addH3254 threeH7969 citiesH5892 more for thee, beside these threeH7969: 10That innocentH5355 bloodH1818 be not shedH8210 inH7130 thy landH0776, which the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 givethH5414 thee for an inheritanceH5159, and so bloodH1818 be upon thee.

11But if any manH0376 hateH8130 his neighbourH7453, and lie in waitH0693 for him, and rise upH6965 against him, and smiteH5221 him mortallyH5315 that he dieH4191, and fleethH5127 into oneH0259 of theseH0411 citiesH5892: 12Then the eldersH2205 of his cityH5892 shall sendH7971 and fetchH3947 him thence, and deliverH5414 him into the handH3027 of the avengerH1350 of bloodH1818, that he may dieH4191. 13Thine eyeH5869 shall not pityH2347 him, but thou shalt put awayH1197 the guilt of innocentH5355 bloodH1818 from IsraelH3478, that it may go wellH2895 with thee.

14Thou shalt not removeH5253 thy neighboursH7453 landmarkH1366, which they of old timeH7223 have setH1379 in thine inheritanceH5159, which thou shalt inheritH5157 in the landH0776 that the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 givethH5414 thee to possessH3423 it.

15OneH0259 witnessH5707 shall not rise upH6965 against a manH0376 for any iniquityH5771, or for any sinH2403, in any sinH2399 that he sinnethH2398: at the mouthH6310 of twoH8147 witnessesH5707, or at the mouthH6310 of threeH7969 witnessesH5707, shall the matterH1697 be establishedH6965.

16If a falseH2555 witnessH5707 rise upH6965 against any manH0376 to testifyH6030 against him that which is wrongH5627; 17Then bothH8147 the menH0582, between whom the controversyH7379 is , shall standH5975 beforeH6440 the LORDH3068, beforeH6440 the priestsH3548 and the judgesH8199, which shall be in those daysH3117; 18And the judgesH8199 shall make diligentH3190 inquisitionH1875: and, behold, if the witnessH5707 be a falseH8267 witnessH5707, and hath testifiedH6030 falselyH8267 against his brotherH0251; 19Then shall ye doH6213 unto him, as he had thoughtH2161 to have doneH6213 unto his brotherH0251: so shalt thou putH1197 the evilH7451 awayH1197 from amongH7130 you. 20And those which remainH7604 shall hearH8085, and fearH3372, and shall henceforthH3254 commitH6213 no more anyH1697 such evilH7451 amongH7130 you. 21And thine eyeH5869 shall not pityH2347; but lifeH5315 shall go for lifeH5315, eyeH5869 for eyeH5869, toothH8127 for toothH8127, handH3027 for handH3027, footH7272 for footH7272.

Deuteronomy: Chapter 20

1When thou goest outH3318 to battleH4421 against thine enemiesH0341, and seestH7200 horsesH5483, and chariotsH7393, and a peopleH5971 moreH7227 than thou, be not afraidH3372 of them: for the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 is with thee, which brought thee upH5927 out of the landH0776 of EgyptH4714. 2And it shall be, when ye are come nighH7126 unto the battleH4421, that the priestH3548 shall approachH5066 and speakH1696 unto the peopleH5971, 3And shall sayH0559 unto them, HearH8085, O IsraelH3478, ye approachH7131 this dayH3117 unto battleH4421 against your enemiesH0341: let not your heartsH3824 faintH7401, fearH3372 not, and do not trembleH2648, neither be ye terrifiedH6206 becauseH6440 of them; 4For the LORDH3068 your GodH0430 is he that goethH1980 with you, to fightH3898 for you against your enemiesH0341, to saveH3467 you.

5And the officersH7860 shall speakH1696 unto the peopleH5971, sayingH0559, What manH0376 is there that hath builtH1129 a newH2319 houseH1004, and hath not dedicatedH2596 it? let him goH3212 and returnH7725 to his houseH1004, lest he dieH4191 in the battleH4421, and anotherH0312 manH0376 dedicateH2596 it. 6And what manH0376 is he that hath plantedH5193 a vineyardH3754, and hath not yet eatenH2490 of it? let him also goH3212 and returnH7725 unto his houseH1004, lest he dieH4191 in the battleH4421, and anotherH0312 manH0376 eatH2490 of it. 7And what manH0376 is there that hath betrothedH0781 a wifeH0802, and hath not takenH3947 her? let him goH3212 and returnH7725 unto his houseH1004, lest he dieH4191 in the battleH4421, and anotherH0312 manH0376 takeH3947 her. 8And the officersH7860 shall speakH1696 furtherH3254 unto the peopleH5971, and they shall sayH0559, What manH0376 is there that is fearfulH3373 and faintheartedH7390? let him goH3212 and returnH7725 unto his houseH1004, lest his brethrensH0251 heartH3824 faintH4549 as well as his heartH3824. 9And it shall be, when the officersH7860 have made an endH3615 of speakingH1696 unto the peopleH5971, that they shall makeH6485 captainsH8269 of the armiesH6635 to leadH7218 the peopleH5971.

10When thou comest nighH7126 unto a cityH5892 to fightH3898 against it, then proclaimH7121 peaceH7965 unto it. 11And it shall be, if it make thee answerH6030 of peaceH7965, and openH6605 unto thee, then it shall be, that all the peopleH5971 that is foundH4672 therein shall be tributariesH4522 unto thee, and they shall serveH5647 thee. 12And if it will make no peaceH7999 with thee, but will makeH6213 warH4421 against thee, then thou shalt besiegeH6696 it: 13And when the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 hath deliveredH5414 it into thine handsH3027, thou shalt smiteH5221 every maleH2138 thereof with the edgeH6310 of the swordH2719: 14But the womenH0802, and the little onesH2945, and the cattleH0929, and all that is in the cityH5892, even all the spoilH7998 thereof, shalt thou takeH0962 unto thyself; and thou shalt eatH0398 the spoilH7998 of thine enemiesH0341, which the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 hath givenH5414 thee. 15Thus shalt thou doH6213 unto all the citiesH5892 which are veryH3966 far offH7350 from thee, whichH2007 are not of the citiesH5892 of these nationsH1471. 16But of the citiesH5892 of these peopleH5971, which the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 doth giveH5414 thee for an inheritanceH5159, thou shalt save aliveH2421 nothing that breathethH5397: 17But thou shalt utterlyH2763 destroyH2763 them; namely , the HittitesH2850, and the AmoritesH0567, the CanaanitesH3669, and the PerizzitesH6522, the HivitesH2340, and the JebusitesH2983; as the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 hath commandedH6680 thee: 18That they teachH3925 you not to doH6213 after all their abominationsH8441, which they have doneH6213 unto their godsH0430; so should ye sinH2398 against the LORDH3068 your GodH0430.

19When thou shalt besiegeH6696 a cityH5892 a longH7227 timeH3117, in making warH3898 against it to takeH8610 it, thou shalt not destroyH7843 the treesH6086 thereof by forcingH5080 an axeH1631 against them: for thou mayest eatH0398 of them, and thou shalt not cut them downH3772 (for the treeH6086 of the fieldH7704 is mansH0120 life ) to employH0935 them in the siegeH6440: 20Only the treesH6086 which thou knowestH3045 that they be not treesH6086 for meatH3978, thou shalt destroyH7843 and cut them downH3772; and thou shalt buildH1129 bulwarksH4692 against the cityH5892 that makethH6213 warH4421 with thee, until it be subduedH3381.

Deuteronomy: Chapter 21

1If one be foundH4672 slainH2491 in the landH0127 which the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 givethH5414 thee to possessH3423 it, lyingH5307 in the fieldH7704, and it be not knownH3045 who hath slainH5221 him: 2Then thy eldersH2205 and thy judgesH8199 shall come forthH3318, and they shall measureH4058 unto the citiesH5892 which are round aboutH5439 him that is slainH2491: 3And it shall be, that the cityH5892 which is nextH7138 unto the slain manH2491, even the eldersH2205 of that cityH5892 shall takeH3947 an heiferH1241, which hath not been wrought withH5647, and which hath not drawnH4900 in the yokeH5923; 4And the eldersH2205 of that cityH5892 shall bring downH3381 the heiferH5697 unto a roughH0386 valleyH5158, which is neither earedH5647 nor sownH2232, and shall strike offH6202 the heifersH5697 neckH6202 there in the valleyH5158: 5And the priestsH3548 the sonsH1121 of LeviH3878 shall come nearH5066; for them the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 hath chosenH0977 to ministerH8334 unto him, and to blessH1288 in the nameH8034 of the LORDH3068; and by their wordH6310 shall every controversyH7379 and every strokeH5061 be tried: 6And all the eldersH2205 of that cityH5892, that are nextH7138 unto the slainH2491 man , shall washH7364 their handsH3027 over the heiferH5697 that is beheadedH6202 in the valleyH5158: 7And they shall answerH6030 and sayH0559, Our handsH3027 have not shedH8210 this bloodH1818, neither have our eyesH5869 seenH7200 it . 8Be mercifulH3722, O LORDH3068, unto thy peopleH5971 IsraelH3478, whom thou hast redeemedH6299, and layH5414 not innocentH5355 bloodH1818 unto thy peopleH5971 of IsraelsH3478 chargeH7130. And the bloodH1818 shall be forgivenH3722 them. 9So shalt thou put awayH1197 the guilt of innocentH5355 bloodH1818 from amongH7130 you, when thou shalt doH6213 that which is rightH3477 in the sightH5869 of the LORDH3068.

10When thou goest forthH3318 to warH4421 against thine enemiesH0341, and the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 hath deliveredH5414 them into thine handsH3027, and thou hast takenH7617 them captiveH7628, 11And seestH7200 among the captivesH7633 a beautifulH8389 womanH0802, and hast a desireH2836 unto her, that thou wouldest have herH3947 to thy wifeH0802; 12Then thou shalt bringH0935 her homeH8432 to thine houseH1004; and she shall shaveH1548 her headH7218, and pareH6213 her nailsH6856; 13And she shall putH5493 the raimentH8071 of her captivityH7628 from off her, and shall remainH3427 in thine houseH1004, and bewailH1058 her fatherH0001 and her motherH0517 a fullH3117 monthH3391: and afterH0310 that thou shalt goH0935 in unto her, and be her husbandH1166, and she shall be thy wifeH0802. 14And it shall be, if thou have no delightH2654 in her, then thou shalt let her goH7971 whither she willH5315; but thou shalt not sellH4376 her at allH4376 for moneyH3701, thou shalt not make merchandiseH6014 of her, becauseH0834 thou hast humbledH6031 her.

15If a manH0376 have twoH8147 wivesH0802, oneH0259 belovedH0157, and anotherH0259 hatedH8130, and they have bornH3205 him childrenH1121, both the belovedH0157 and the hatedH8130; and if the firstbornH1060 sonH1121 be hers that was hatedH8146: 16Then it shall be, whenH3117 he maketh his sonsH1121 to inheritH5157 that which he hath, that he mayH3201 not make the sonH1121 of the belovedH0157 firstbornH1069 beforeH6440 the sonH1121 of the hatedH8130, which is indeed the firstbornH1060: 17But he shall acknowledgeH5234 the sonH1121 of the hatedH8130 for the firstbornH1060, by givingH5414 him a doubleH8147 portionH6310 of all that he hathH4672: for he is the beginningH7225 of his strengthH0202; the rightH4941 of the firstbornH1062 is his.

18If a manH0376 have a stubbornH5637 and rebelliousH4784 sonH1121, which will not obeyH8085 the voiceH6963 of his fatherH0001, or the voiceH6963 of his motherH0517, and that , when they have chastenedH3256 him, will not hearkenH8085 unto them: 19Then shall his fatherH0001 and his motherH0517 lay holdH8610 on him, and bring him outH3318 unto the eldersH2205 of his cityH5892, and unto the gateH8179 of his placeH4725; 20And they shall sayH0559 unto the eldersH2205 of his cityH5892, This our sonH1121 is stubbornH5637 and rebelliousH4784, he will not obeyH8085 our voiceH6963; he is a gluttonH2151, and a drunkardH5433. 21And all the menH0582 of his cityH5892 shall stoneH7275 him with stonesH0068, that he dieH4191: so shalt thou putH1197 evilH7451 awayH1197 from amongH7130 you; and all IsraelH3478 shall hearH8085, and fearH3372.

22And if a manH0376 have committed a sinH2399 worthy ofH4941 deathH4194, and he be to be put to deathH4191, and thou hangH8518 him on a treeH6086: 23His bodyH5038 shall not remain all nightH3885 upon the treeH6086, but thou shalt in any wiseH6912 buryH6912 him that dayH3117; (for he that is hangedH8518 is accursedH7045 of GodH0430;) that thy landH0127 be not defiledH2930, which the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 givethH5414 thee for an inheritanceH5159.

Deuteronomy: Chapter 22

1Thou shalt not seeH7200 thy brothersH0251 oxH7794 or his sheepH7716 go astrayH5080, and hideH5956 thyself from them: thou shalt in any caseH7725 bring them againH7725 unto thy brotherH0251. 2And if thy brotherH0251 be not nighH7138 unto thee, or if thou knowH3045 him not, then thou shalt bringH0622 it untoH8432 thine own houseH1004, and it shall be with thee until thy brotherH0251 seekH1875 after it, and thou shalt restore it to him againH7725. 3In like mannerH3651 shalt thou doH6213 with his assH2543; and so shalt thou doH6213 with his raimentH8071; and with all lost thingH0009 of thy brothersH0251, which he hath lostH0006, and thou hast foundH4672, shalt thou doH6213 likewise: thou mayestH3201 not hideH5956 thyself.

4Thou shalt not seeH7200 thy brothersH0251 assH2543 or his oxH7794 fall downH5307 by the wayH1870, and hideH5956 thyself from them: thou shalt surelyH6965 help him to lift them up againH6965.

5The womanH0802 shall not wear that which pertainethH3627 unto a manH1397, neither shall a manH1397 putH3847 on a womansH0802 garmentH8071: for all that doH6213 soH0428 are abominationH8441 unto the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430.

6If a birdsH6833 nestH7064 chanceH7122 to be beforeH6440 thee in the wayH1870 in any treeH6086, or on the groundH0776, whether they be young onesH0667, or eggsH1000, and the damH0517 sittingH7257 upon the youngH0667, or upon the eggsH1000, thou shalt not takeH3947 the damH0517 with the youngH1121: 7 But thou shalt in any wiseH7971 let the damH0517 goH7971, and takeH3947 the youngH1121 to thee; that it may be wellH3190 with thee, and that thou mayest prolongH0748 thy daysH3117.

8When thou buildestH1129 a newH2319 houseH1004, then thou shalt makeH6213 a battlementH4624 for thy roofH1406, that thou bringH7760 not bloodH1818 upon thine houseH1004, if any manH5307 fallH5307 from thence.

9Thou shalt not sowH2232 thy vineyardH3754 with divers seedsH3610: lest the fruitH4395 of thy seedH2233 which thou hast sownH2232, and the fruitH8393 of thy vineyardH3754, be defiledH6942.

10Thou shalt not plowH2790 with an oxH7794 and an assH2543 togetherH3162.

11Thou shalt not wearH3847 a garment of divers sortsH8162, as of woollenH6785 and linenH6593 togetherH3162.

12Thou shalt makeH6213 thee fringesH1434 upon the fourH0702 quartersH3671 of thy vestureH3682, wherewith thou coverestH3680 thyself .

13If any manH0376 takeH3947 a wifeH0802, and go inH0935 unto her, and hateH8130 her, 14And giveH7760 occasionsH5949 of speechH1697 against her, and bring upH3318 an evilH7451 nameH8034 upon her, and sayH0559, I tookH3947 this womanH0802, and when I cameH7126 to her, I foundH4672 her not a maidH1331: 15Then shall the fatherH0001 of the damselH5291, and her motherH0517, takeH3947 and bring forthH3318 the tokens of the damselsH5291 virginityH1331 unto the eldersH2205 of the cityH5892 in the gateH8179: 16And the damselsH5291 fatherH0001 shall sayH0559 unto the eldersH2205, I gaveH5414 my daughterH1323 unto this manH0376 to wifeH0802, and he hatethH8130 her; 17And, lo, he hath givenH7760 occasionsH5949 of speechH1697 against her , sayingH0559, I foundH4672 not thy daughterH1323 a maidH1331; and yet these are the tokens of my daughtersH1323 virginityH1331. And they shall spreadH6566 the clothH8071 beforeH6440 the eldersH2205 of the cityH5892. 18And the eldersH2205 of that cityH5892 shall takeH3947 that manH0376 and chastiseH3256 him; 19And they shall amerceH6064 him in an hundredH3967 shekels of silverH3701, and giveH5414 them unto the fatherH0001 of the damselH5291, because he hath brought upH3318 an evilH7451 nameH8034 upon a virginH1330 of IsraelH3478: and she shall be his wifeH0802; he mayH3201 not put her awayH7971 all his daysH3117. 20But if this thingH1697 be trueH0571, and the tokens of virginityH1331 be not foundH4672 for the damselH5291: 21Then they shall bring outH3318 the damselH5291 to the doorH6607 of her fathersH0001 houseH1004, and the menH0582 of her cityH5892 shall stoneH5619 her with stonesH0068 that she dieH4191: because she hath wroughtH6213 follyH5039 in IsraelH3478, to play the whoreH2181 in her fathersH0001 houseH1004: so shalt thou putH1197 evilH7451 awayH1197 from amongH7130 you.

22If a manH0376 be foundH4672 lyingH7901 with a womanH0802 marriedH1166 to an husbandH1167, then they shall both of themH8147 dieH4191, both the manH0376 that layH7901 with the womanH0802, and the womanH0802: so shalt thou put awayH1197 evilH7451 from IsraelH3478.

23If a damselH5291 that is a virginH1330 be betrothedH0781 unto an husbandH0376, and a manH0376 findH4672 her in the cityH5892, and lieH7901 with her; 24Then ye shall bringH3318 them bothH8147 out unto the gateH8179 of that cityH5892, and ye shall stoneH5619 them with stonesH0068 that they dieH4191; the damselH5291, becauseH0834 she criedH6817 not, being in the cityH5892; and the manH0376, becauseH0834 he hath humbledH6031 his neighboursH7453 wifeH0802: so thou shalt put awayH1197 evilH7451 from amongH7130 you.

25But if a manH0376 findH4672 a betrothedH0781 damselH5291 in the fieldH7704, and the manH0376 forceH2388 her, and lieH7901 with her: then the manH0376 only that layH7901 with her shall dieH4191: 26But unto the damselH5291 thou shalt doH6213 nothingH1697; there is in the damselH5291 no sinH2399 worthy of deathH4194: for as when a manH0376 risethH6965 against his neighbourH7453, and slayethH7523 him, even so is this matterH1697: 27For he foundH4672 her in the fieldH7704, and the betrothedH0781 damselH5291 criedH6817, and there was none to saveH3467 her.

28If a manH0376 findH4672 a damselH5291 that is a virginH1330, which is not betrothedH0781, and lay holdH8610 on her, and lieH7901 with her, and they be foundH4672; 29Then the manH0376 that layH7901 with her shall giveH5414 unto the damselsH5291 fatherH0001 fiftyH2572 shekels of silverH3701, and she shall be his wifeH0802; because he hath humbledH6031 her, he mayH3201 not put her awayH7971 all his daysH3117.

30A manH0376 shall not takeH3947 his fathersH0001 wifeH0802, nor discoverH1540 his fathersH0001 skirtH3671.

Deuteronomy: Chapter 23

1He that is wounded in the stonesH6481, or hath his privy memberH8212 cut offH3772, shall not enterH0935 into the congregationH6951 of the LORDH3068. 2A bastardH4464 shall not enterH0935 into the congregationH6951 of the LORDH3068; even to his tenthH6224 generationH1755 shall he not enterH0935 into the congregationH6951 of the LORDH3068. 3An AmmoniteH5984 or MoabiteH4125 shall not enterH0935 into the congregationH6951 of the LORDH3068; even to their tenthH6224 generationH1755 shall they not enterH0935 into the congregationH6951 of the LORDH3068 forH5704 everH5769: 4BecauseH1697 they metH6923 you not with breadH3899 and with waterH4325 in the wayH1870, when ye came forthH3318 out of EgyptH4714; and because they hiredH7936 against thee BalaamH1109 the sonH1121 of BeorH1160 of PethorH6604 of MesopotamiaH0763, to curseH7043 thee. 5Nevertheless the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 wouldH0014 not hearkenH8085 unto BalaamH1109; but the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 turnedH2015 the curseH7045 into a blessingH1293 unto thee, because the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 lovedH0157 thee. 6Thou shalt not seekH1875 their peaceH7965 nor their prosperityH2896 all thy daysH3117 for everH5769.

7Thou shalt not abhorH8581 an EdomiteH0130; for he is thy brotherH0251: thou shalt not abhorH8581 an EgyptianH4713; because thou wast a strangerH1616 in his landH0776. 8The childrenH1121 that are begottenH3205 of them shall enterH0935 into the congregationH6951 of the LORDH3068 in their thirdH7992 generationH1755.

9When the hostH4264 goeth forthH3318 against thine enemiesH0341, then keepH8104 thee from every wickedH7451 thingH1697.

10If there be among you any manH0376, that is not cleanH2889 by reason of uncleanness that chancethH7137 him by nightH3915, then shall he goH3318 abroadH2351 out of the campH4264, he shall not comeH0935 withinH8432 the campH4264: 11But it shall be, when eveningH6153 cometh onH6437, he shall washH7364 himself with waterH4325: and when the sunH8121 is downH0935, he shall comeH0935 intoH8432 the campH4264 again .

12Thou shalt have a place alsoH3027 withoutH2351 the campH4264, whither thou shalt go forthH3318 abroadH2351: 13And thou shalt have a paddleH3489 upon thy weaponH0240; and it shall be, when thou wilt easeH3427 thyself abroadH2351, thou shalt digH2658 therewith, and shalt turn backH7725 and coverH3680 that which comethH6627 from thee: 14For the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 walkethH1980 in the midstH7130 of thy campH4264, to deliverH5337 thee, and to give upH5414 thine enemiesH0341 beforeH6440 thee; therefore shall thy campH4264 be holyH6918: that he seeH7200 no uncleanH6172 thingH1697 in thee, and turn awayH7725 from theeH0310.

15Thou shalt not deliverH5462 unto his masterH0113 the servantH5650 which is escapedH5337 from his masterH0113 unto thee: 16He shall dwellH3427 with thee, even amongH7130 you, in that placeH4725 which he shall chooseH0977 in oneH0259 of thy gatesH8179, where it liketh him bestH2896: thou shalt not oppressH3238 him.

17There shall be no whoreH6948 of the daughtersH1323 of IsraelH3478, nor a sodomiteH6945 of the sonsH1121 of IsraelH3478. 18Thou shalt not bringH0935 the hireH0868 of a whoreH2181, or the priceH4242 of a dogH3611, into the houseH1004 of the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 for any vowH5088: for even bothH8147 these are abominationH8441 unto the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430.

19Thou shalt not lend upon usuryH5391 to thy brotherH0251; usuryH5392 of moneyH3701, usuryH5392 of victualsH0400, usuryH5392 of any thingH1697 that is lent upon usuryH5391: 20Unto a strangerH5237 thou mayest lend upon usuryH5391; but unto thy brotherH0251 thou shalt not lend upon usuryH5391: that the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 may blessH1288 thee in all that thou settestH4916 thine handH3027 to in the landH0776 whither thou goestH0935 to possessH3423 it.

21When thou shalt vowH5087 a vowH5088 unto the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430, thou shalt not slackH0309 to payH7999 it: for the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 will surelyH1875 requireH1875 it of thee; and it would be sinH2399 in thee. 22But if thou shalt forbearH2308 to vowH5087, it shall be no sinH2399 in thee. 23That which is gone outH4161 of thy lipsH8193 thou shalt keepH8104 and performH6213; even a freewill offeringH5071, according as thou hast vowedH5087 unto the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430, which thou hast promisedH1696 with thy mouthH6310.

24When thou comestH0935 into thy neighboursH7453 vineyardH3754, then thou mayest eatH0398 grapesH6025 thy fillH7648 at thine own pleasureH5315; but thou shalt not putH5414 any in thy vesselH3627. 25When thou comestH0935 into the standing cornH7054 of thy neighbourH7453, then thou mayest pluckH6998 the earsH4425 with thine handH3027; but thou shalt not moveH5130 a sickleH2770 unto thy neighboursH7453 standing cornH7054.

Deuteronomy: Chapter 24

1When a manH0376 hath takenH3947 a wifeH0802, and marriedH1166 her, and it come to pass that she findH4672 no favourH2580 in his eyesH5869, because he hath foundH4672 someH1697 uncleannessH6172 in her: then let him writeH3789 her a billH5612 of divorcementH3748, and giveH5414 it in her handH3027, and sendH7971 her out of his houseH1004. 2And when she is departed outH3318 of his houseH1004, she may goH1980 and be anotherH0312 mansH0376 wife . 3And if the latterH0314 husbandH0376 hateH8130 her, and writeH3789 her a billH5612 of divorcementH3748, and givethH5414 it in her handH3027, and sendethH7971 her out of his houseH1004; or if the latterH0314 husbandH0376 dieH4191, which tookH3947 her to be his wifeH0802; 4Her formerH7223 husbandH1167, which sent her awayH7971, mayH3201 not takeH3947 her againH7725 to be his wifeH0802, afterH0310 that she is defiledH2930; for that is abominationH8441 beforeH6440 the LORDH3068: and thou shalt not cause the landH0776 to sinH2398, which the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 givethH5414 thee for an inheritanceH5159.

5When a manH0376 hath takenH3947 a newH2319 wifeH0802, he shall not go outH3318 to warH6635, neither shall he be chargedH5674 with any businessH1697: but he shall be freeH5355 at homeH1004 oneH0259 yearH8141, and shall cheer upH8055 his wifeH0802 which he hath takenH3947.

6No man shall takeH2254 the netherH7347 or the upper millstoneH7393 to pledgeH2254: for he takethH2254 a mans lifeH5315 to pledgeH2254.

7If a manH0376 be foundH4672 stealingH1589 anyH5315 of his brethrenH0251 of the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478, and maketh merchandiseH6014 of him, or sellethH4376 him; then that thiefH1590 shall dieH4191; and thou shalt putH1197 evilH7451 awayH1197 from amongH7130 you.

8Take heedH8104 in the plagueH5061 of leprosyH6883, that thou observeH8104 diligentlyH3966, and doH6213 according to all that the priestsH3548 the LevitesH3881 shall teachH3384 you: as I commandedH6680 them, so ye shall observeH8104 to doH6213. 9RememberH2142 what the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 didH6213 unto MiriamH4813 by the wayH1870, after that ye were come forthH3318 out of EgyptH4714.

10When thou dost lendH5383 thy brotherH7453 anyH3972 thingH4859, thou shalt not goH0935 into his houseH1004 to fetchH5670 his pledgeH5667. 11Thou shalt standH5975 abroadH2351, and the manH0376 to whom thou dost lendH5383 shall bring outH3318 the pledgeH5667 abroadH2351 unto thee. 12And if the manH0376 be poorH6041, thou shalt not sleepH7901 with his pledgeH5667: 13In any caseH7725 thou shalt deliverH7725 him the pledgeH5667 againH7725 when the sunH8121 goeth downH0935, that he may sleepH7901 in his own raimentH8008, and blessH1288 thee: and it shall be righteousnessH6666 unto thee beforeH6440 the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430.

14Thou shalt not oppressH6231 an hired servantH7916 that is poorH6041 and needyH0034, whether he be of thy brethrenH0251, or of thy strangersH1616 that are in thy landH0776 within thy gatesH8179: 15At his dayH3117 thou shalt giveH5414 him his hireH7939, neither shall the sunH8121 go downH0935 upon it; for he is poorH6041, and settethH5375 his heartH5315 upon it: lest he cryH7121 against thee unto the LORDH3068, and it be sinH2399 unto thee. 16The fathersH0001 shall not be put to deathH4191 for the childrenH1121, neither shall the childrenH1121 be put to deathH4191 for the fathersH0001: every manH0376 shall be put to deathH4191 for his own sinH2399.

17Thou shalt not pervertH5186 the judgmentH4941 of the strangerH1616, nor of the fatherlessH3490; nor takeH2254 a widowsH0490 raimentH0899 to pledgeH2254: 18But thou shalt rememberH2142 that thou wast a bondmanH5650 in EgyptH4714, and the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 redeemedH6299 thee thence: therefore I commandH6680 thee to doH6213 this thingH1697.

19When thou cuttest downH7114 thine harvestH7105 in thy fieldH7704, and hast forgotH7911 a sheafH6016 in the fieldH7704, thou shalt not go againH7725 to fetchH3947 it: it shall be for the strangerH1616, for the fatherlessH3490, and for the widowH0490: that the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 may blessH1288 thee in all the workH4639 of thine handsH3027. 20When thou beatestH2251 thine olive treeH2132, thou shalt not go over the boughsH6286 againH0310: it shall be for the strangerH1616, for the fatherlessH3490, and for the widowH0490. 21When thou gatherestH1219 the grapes of thy vineyardH3754, thou shalt not gleanH5953 it afterwardH0310: it shall be for the strangerH1616, for the fatherlessH3490, and for the widowH0490. 22And thou shalt rememberH2142 that thou wast a bondmanH5650 in the landH0776 of EgyptH4714: therefore I commandH6680 thee to doH6213 this thingH1697.

Deuteronomy: Chapter 25

1If there be a controversyH7379 between menH0582, and they comeH5066 unto judgmentH4941, that the judges may judgeH8199 them; then they shall justifyH6663 the righteousH6662, and condemnH7561 the wickedH7563. 2And it shall be, if the wicked manH7563 be worthyH1121 to be beatenH5221, that the judgeH8199 shall cause him to lie downH5307, and to be beatenH5221 before his faceH6440, accordingH1767 to his faultH7564, by a certain numberH4557. 3FortyH0705 stripesH5221 he may give him, and not exceedH3254: lest, if he should exceedH3254, and beatH5221 him above these with manyH7227 stripesH4347, then thy brotherH0251 should seem vileH7034 unto thee.

4Thou shalt not muzzleH2629 the oxH7794 when he treadeth outH1778 the corn .

5If brethrenH0251 dwellH3427 togetherH3162, and oneH0259 of them dieH4191, and have no childH1121, the wifeH0802 of the deadH4191 shall not marry withoutH2351 unto a strangerH0376: her husbands brotherH2993 shall go inH0935 unto her, and takeH3947 her to him to wifeH0802, and perform the duty of an husbands brotherH2992 unto her. 6And it shall be, that the firstbornH1060 which she bearethH3205 shall succeedH6965 in the nameH8034 of his brotherH0251 which is deadH4191, that his nameH8034 be not put outH4229 of IsraelH3478. 7And if the manH0376 likeH2654 not to takeH3947 his brothers wifeH2994, then let his brothers wifeH2994 go upH5927 to the gateH8179 unto the eldersH2205, and sayH0559, My husbands brotherH2993 refusethH3985 to raise upH6965 unto his brotherH0251 a nameH8034 in IsraelH3478, he willH0014 not perform the duty of my husbands brotherH2992. 8Then the eldersH2205 of his cityH5892 shall callH7121 him, and speakH1696 unto him: and if he standH5975 to it , and sayH0559, I likeH2654 not to takeH3947 her; 9Then shall his brothers wifeH2994 comeH5066 unto him in the presenceH5869 of the eldersH2205, and looseH2502 his shoeH5275 from off his footH7272, and spitH3417 in his faceH6440, and shall answerH6030 and sayH0559, So shall it be doneH6213 unto that manH0376 that will not build upH1129 his brothersH0251 houseH1004. 10And his nameH8034 shall be calledH7121 in IsraelH3478, The houseH1004 of him that hath his shoeH5275 loosedH2502.

11When menH0582 striveH5327 togetherH3162 one with anotherH0251, and the wifeH0802 of the oneH0259 draweth nearH7126 for to deliverH5337 her husbandH0376 out of the handH3027 of him that smitethH5221 him, and putteth forthH7971 her handH3027, and takethH2388 him by the secretsH4016: 12Then thou shalt cut offH7112 her handH3709, thine eyeH5869 shall not pityH2347 her .

13Thou shalt not have in thy bagH3599 divers weightsH0068, a greatH1419 and a smallH6996. 14Thou shalt not have in thine houseH1004 divers measuresH0374, a greatH1419 and a smallH6996. 15 But thou shalt have a perfectH8003 and justH6664 weightH0068, a perfectH8003 and justH6664 measureH0374 shalt thou have: that thy daysH3117 may be lengthenedH0748 in the landH0127 which the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 givethH5414 thee. 16For all that doH6213 such thingsH0428, and all that doH6213 unrighteouslyH5766, are an abominationH8441 unto the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430.

17RememberH2142 what AmalekH6002 didH6213 unto thee by the wayH1870, when ye were come forthH3318 out of EgyptH4714; 18How he metH7136 thee by the wayH1870, and smote the hindmostH2179 of thee, even all that were feebleH2826 behindH0310 thee, when thou wast faintH5889 and wearyH3023; and he fearedH3373 not GodH0430. 19Therefore it shall be, when the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 hath given thee restH5117 from all thine enemiesH0341 round aboutH5439, in the landH0776 which the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 givethH5414 thee for an inheritanceH5159 to possessH3423 it, that thou shalt blot outH4229 the remembranceH2143 of AmalekH6002 from under heavenH8064; thou shalt not forgetH7911 it .

Deuteronomy: Chapter 26

1And it shall be, when thou art come inH0935 unto the landH0776 which the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 givethH5414 thee for an inheritanceH5159, and possessestH3423 it, and dwellestH3427 therein; 2That thou shalt takeH3947 of the firstH7225 of all the fruitH6529 of the earthH0127, which thou shalt bringH0935 of thy landH0776 that the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 givethH5414 thee, and shalt putH7760 it in a basketH2935, and shalt goH1980 unto the placeH4725 which the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 shall chooseH0977 to placeH7931 his nameH8034 there. 3And thou shalt goH0935 unto the priestH3548 that shall be in those daysH3117, and sayH0559 unto him, I professH5046 this dayH3117 unto the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430, that I am comeH0935 unto the countryH0776 which the LORDH3068 swareH7650 unto our fathersH0001 for to giveH5414 us. 4And the priestH3548 shall takeH3947 the basketH2935 out of thine handH3027, and set it downH3240 beforeH6440 the altarH4196 of the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430. 5And thou shalt speakH6030 and sayH0559 beforeH6440 the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430, A SyrianH0761 ready to perishH0006 was my fatherH0001, and he went downH3381 into EgyptH4714, and sojournedH1481 there withH4962 a fewH4592, and became there a nationH1471, greatH1419, mightyH6099, and populousH7227: 6And the EgyptiansH4713 evil entreatedH7489 us, and afflictedH6031 us, and laidH5414 upon us hardH7186 bondageH5656: 7And when we criedH6817 unto the LORDH3068 GodH0430 of our fathersH0001, the LORDH3068 heardH8085 our voiceH6963, and lookedH7200 on our afflictionH6040, and our labourH5999, and our oppressionH3906: 8And the LORDH3068 brought us forthH3318 out of EgyptH4714 with a mightyH2389 handH3027, and with an outstretchedH5186 armH2220, and with greatH1419 terriblenessH4172, and with signsH0226, and with wondersH4159: 9And he hath broughtH0935 us into this placeH4725, and hath givenH5414 us this landH0776, even a landH0776 that flowethH2100 with milkH2461 and honeyH1706. 10And now, behold, I have broughtH0935 the firstfruitsH6529 of the landH0127, which thou, O LORDH3068, hast givenH5414 me. And thou shalt setH3240 it beforeH6440 the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430, and worshipH7812 beforeH6440 the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430: 11And thou shalt rejoiceH8055 in every goodH2896 thing which the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 hath givenH5414 unto thee, and unto thine houseH1004, thou, and the LeviteH3881, and the strangerH1616 that is amongH7130 you.

12When thou hast made an endH3615 of tithingH6237 all the tithesH4643 of thine increaseH8393 the thirdH7992 yearH8141, which is the yearH8141 of tithingH4643, and hast givenH5414 it unto the LeviteH3881, the strangerH1616, the fatherlessH3490, and the widowH0490, that they may eatH0398 within thy gatesH8179, and be filledH7646; 13Then thou shalt sayH0559 beforeH6440 the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430, I have brought awayH1197 the hallowed thingsH6944 out of mine houseH1004, and also have givenH5414 them unto the LeviteH3881, and unto the strangerH1616, to the fatherlessH3490, and to the widowH0490, according to all thy commandmentsH4687 which thou hast commandedH6680 me: I have not transgressedH5674 thy commandmentsH4687, neither have I forgottenH7911 them: 14I have not eatenH0398 thereof in my mourningH0205, neither have I taken awayH1197 ought thereof for any uncleanH2931 use , nor givenH5414 ought thereof for the deadH4191: but I have hearkenedH8085 to the voiceH6963 of the LORDH3068 my GodH0430, and have doneH6213 according to all that thou hast commandedH6680 me. 15Look downH8259 from thy holyH6944 habitationH4583, from heavenH8064, and blessH1288 thy peopleH5971 IsraelH3478, and the landH0127 which thou hast givenH5414 us, as thou swarestH7650 unto our fathersH0001, a landH0776 that flowethH2100 with milkH2461 and honeyH1706.

16This dayH3117 the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 hath commandedH6680 thee to doH6213 these statutesH2706 and judgmentsH4941: thou shalt therefore keepH8104 and doH6213 them with all thine heartH3824, and with all thy soulH5315. 17Thou hast avouchedH0559 the LORDH3068 this dayH3117 to be thy GodH0430, and to walkH3212 in his waysH1870, and to keepH8104 his statutesH2706, and his commandmentsH4687, and his judgmentsH4941, and to hearkenH8085 unto his voiceH6963: 18And the LORDH3068 hath avouchedH0559 thee this dayH3117 to be his peculiarH5459 peopleH5971, as he hath promisedH1696 thee, and that thou shouldest keepH8104 all his commandmentsH4687; 19And to makeH5414 thee highH5945 above all nationsH1471 which he hath madeH6213, in praiseH8416, and in nameH8034, and in honourH8597; and that thou mayest be an holyH6918 peopleH5971 unto the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430, as he hath spokenH1696.

Deuteronomy: Chapter 27

1And MosesH4872 with the eldersH2205 of IsraelH3478 commandedH6680 the peopleH5971, sayingH0559, KeepH8104 all the commandmentsH4687 which I commandH6680 you this dayH3117. 2And it shall be on the dayH3117 when ye shall pass overH5674 JordanH3383 unto the landH0776 which the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 givethH5414 thee, that thou shalt set thee upH6965 greatH1419 stonesH0068, and plaisterH7874 them with plaisterH7875: 3And thou shalt writeH3789 upon them all the wordsH1697 of this lawH8451, when thou art passed overH5674, that thou mayest go inH0935 unto the landH0776 which the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 givethH5414 thee, a landH0776 that flowethH2100 with milkH2461 and honeyH1706; as the LORDH3068 GodH0430 of thy fathersH0001 hath promisedH1696 thee. 4Therefore it shall be when ye be gone overH5674 JordanH3383, that ye shall set upH6965 these stonesH0068, which I commandH6680 you this dayH3117, in mountH2022 EbalH5858, and thou shalt plaisterH7875 them with plaisterH7874. 5And there shalt thou buildH1129 an altarH4196 unto the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430, an altarH4196 of stonesH0068: thou shalt not lift upH5130 any ironH1270 tool upon them. 6Thou shalt buildH1129 the altarH4196 of the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 of wholeH8003 stonesH0068: and thou shalt offerH5927 burnt offeringsH5930 thereon unto the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430: 7And thou shalt offerH2076 peace offeringsH8002, and shalt eatH0398 there, and rejoiceH8055 beforeH6440 the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430. 8And thou shalt writeH3789 upon the stonesH0068 all the wordsH1697 of this lawH8451 veryH3190 plainlyH0874.

9And MosesH4872 and the priestsH3548 the LevitesH3881 spakeH1696 unto all IsraelH3478, sayingH0559, Take heedH5535, and hearkenH8085, O IsraelH3478; this dayH3117 thou art becomeH1961 the peopleH5971 of the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430. 10Thou shalt therefore obeyH8085 the voiceH6963 of the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430, and doH6213 his commandmentsH4687 and his statutesH2706, which I commandH6680 thee this dayH3117.

11And MosesH4872 chargedH6680 the peopleH5971 the same dayH3117, sayingH0559, 12These shall standH5975 upon mountH2022 GerizimH1630 to blessH1288 the peopleH5971, when ye are come overH5674 JordanH3383; SimeonH8095, and LeviH3878, and JudahH3063, and IssacharH3485, and JosephH3130, and BenjaminH1144: 13And these shall standH5975 upon mountH2022 EbalH5858 to curseH7045; ReubenH7205, GadH1410, and AsherH0836, and ZebulunH2074, DanH1835, and NaphtaliH5321.

14And the LevitesH3881 shall speakH6030, and sayH0559 unto all the menH0376 of IsraelH3478 with a loudH7311 voiceH6963, 15CursedH0779 be the manH0376 that makethH6213 any gravenH6459 or molten imageH4541, an abominationH8441 unto the LORDH3068, the workH4639 of the handsH3027 of the craftsmanH2796, and puttethH7760 it in a secretH5643 place . And all the peopleH5971 shall answerH6030 and sayH0559, AmenH0543. 16CursedH0779 be he that setteth lightH7034 by his fatherH0001 or his motherH0517. And all the peopleH5971 shall sayH0559, AmenH0543. 17CursedH0779 be he that removethH5253 his neighboursH7453 landmarkH1366. And all the peopleH5971 shall sayH0559, AmenH0543. 18CursedH0779 be he that maketh the blindH5787 to wanderH7686 out of the wayH1870. And all the peopleH5971 shall sayH0559, AmenH0543. 19CursedH0779 be he that pervertethH5186 the judgmentH4941 of the strangerH1616, fatherlessH3490, and widowH0490. And all the peopleH5971 shall sayH0559, AmenH0543. 20CursedH0779 be he that liethH7901 with his fathersH0001 wifeH0802; because he uncoverethH1540 his fathersH0001 skirtH3671. And all the peopleH5971 shall sayH0559, AmenH0543. 21CursedH0779 be he that liethH7901 with any manner of beastH0929. And all the peopleH5971 shall sayH0559, AmenH0543. 22CursedH0779 be he that liethH7901 with his sisterH0269, the daughterH1323 of his fatherH0001, or the daughterH1323 of his motherH0517. And all the peopleH5971 shall sayH0559, AmenH0543. 23CursedH0779 be he that liethH7901 with his mother in lawH2859. And all the peopleH5971 shall sayH0559, AmenH0543. 24CursedH0779 be he that smitethH5221 his neighbourH7453 secretlyH5643. And all the peopleH5971 shall sayH0559, AmenH0543. 25CursedH0779 be he that takethH3947 rewardH7810 to slayH5221 an innocentH5355 personH5315. And all the peopleH5971 shall sayH0559, AmenH0543. 26CursedH0779 be he that confirmethH6965 not all the wordsH1697 of this lawH8451 to doH6213 them. And all the peopleH5971 shall sayH0559, AmenH0543.

Deuteronomy: Chapter 28

1And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearkenH8085 diligentlyH8085 unto the voiceH6963 of the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430, to observeH8104 and to doH6213 all his commandmentsH4687 which I commandH6680 thee this dayH3117, that the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 will setH5414 thee on highH5945 above all nationsH1471 of the earthH0776: 2And all these blessingsH1293 shall comeH0935 on thee, and overtakeH5381 thee, if thou shalt hearkenH8085 unto the voiceH6963 of the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430. 3BlessedH1288 shalt thou be in the cityH5892, and blessedH1288 shalt thou be in the fieldH7704. 4BlessedH1288 shall be the fruitH6529 of thy bodyH0990, and the fruitH6529 of thy groundH0127, and the fruitH6529 of thy cattleH0929, the increaseH7698 of thy kineH0504, and the flocksH6251 of thy sheepH6629. 5BlessedH1288 shall be thy basketH2935 and thy storeH4863. 6BlessedH1288 shalt thou be when thou comest inH0935, and blessedH1288 shalt thou be when thou goest outH3318. 7The LORDH3068 shall causeH5414 thine enemiesH0341 that rise upH6965 against thee to be smittenH5062 before thy faceH6440: they shall come outH3318 against thee oneH0259 wayH1870, and fleeH5127 beforeH6440 thee sevenH7651 waysH1870. 8The LORDH3068 shall commandH6680 the blessingH1293 upon thee in thy storehousesH0618, and in all that thou settestH4916 thine handH3027 unto; and he shall blessH1288 thee in the landH0776 which the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 givethH5414 thee. 9The LORDH3068 shall establishH6965 thee an holyH6918 peopleH5971 unto himself, as he hath swornH7650 unto thee, if thou shalt keepH8104 the commandmentsH4687 of the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430, and walkH1980 in his waysH1870. 10And all peopleH5971 of the earthH0776 shall seeH7200 that thou art calledH7121 by the nameH8034 of the LORDH3068; and they shall be afraidH3372 of thee. 11And the LORDH3068 shall make thee plenteousH3498 in goodsH2896, in the fruitH6529 of thy bodyH0990, and in the fruitH6529 of thy cattleH0929, and in the fruitH6529 of thy groundH0127, in the landH0127 which the LORDH3068 swareH7650 unto thy fathersH0001 to giveH5414 thee. 12The LORDH3068 shall openH6605 unto thee his goodH2896 treasureH0214, the heavenH8064 to giveH5414 the rainH4306 unto thy landH0776 in his seasonH6256, and to blessH1288 all the workH4639 of thine handH3027: and thou shalt lendH3867 unto manyH7227 nationsH1471, and thou shalt not borrowH3867. 13And the LORDH3068 shall makeH5414 thee the headH7218, and not the tailH2180; and thou shalt be above onlyH4605, and thou shalt not be beneathH4295; if that thou hearkenH8085 unto the commandmentsH4687 of the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430, which I commandH6680 thee this dayH3117, to observeH8104 and to doH6213 them: 14And thou shalt not go asideH5493 from any of the wordsH1697 which I commandH6680 thee this dayH3117, to the right handH3225, or to the leftH8040, to goH3212 afterH0310 otherH0312 godsH0430 to serveH5647 them.

15But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearkenH8085 unto the voiceH6963 of the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430, to observeH8104 to doH6213 all his commandmentsH4687 and his statutesH2708 which I commandH6680 thee this dayH3117; that all these cursesH7045 shall comeH0935 upon thee, and overtakeH5381 thee: 16CursedH0779 shalt thou be in the cityH5892, and cursedH0779 shalt thou be in the fieldH7704. 17CursedH0779 shall be thy basketH2935 and thy storeH4863. 18CursedH0779 shall be the fruitH6529 of thy bodyH0990, and the fruitH6529 of thy landH0127, the increaseH7698 of thy kineH0504, and the flocksH6251 of thy sheepH6629. 19CursedH0779 shalt thou be when thou comest inH0935, and cursedH0779 shalt thou be when thou goest outH3318. 20The LORDH3068 shall sendH7971 upon thee cursingH3994, vexationH4103, and rebukeH4045, in all that thou settestH4916 thine handH3027 unto for to doH6213, until thou be destroyedH8045, and until thou perishH0006 quicklyH4118; becauseH6440 of the wickednessH7455 of thy doingsH4611, whereby thou hast forsakenH5800 me. 21The LORDH3068 shall make the pestilenceH1698 cleaveH1692 unto thee, until he have consumedH3615 thee from off the landH0127, whither thou goestH0935 to possessH3423 it. 22The LORDH3068 shall smiteH5221 thee with a consumptionH7829, and with a feverH6920, and with an inflammationH1816, and with an extreme burningH2746, and with the swordH2719, and with blastingH7711, and with mildewH3420; and they shall pursueH7291 thee until thou perishH0006. 23And thy heavenH8064 that is over thy headH7218 shall be brassH5178, and the earthH0776 that is under thee shall be ironH1270. 24The LORDH3068 shall makeH5414 the rainH4306 of thy landH0776 powderH0080 and dustH6083: from heavenH8064 shall it come downH3381 upon thee, until thou be destroyedH8045. 25The LORDH3068 shall causeH5414 thee to be smittenH5062 beforeH6440 thine enemiesH0341: thou shalt go outH3318 oneH0259 wayH1870 against them, and fleeH5127 sevenH7651 waysH1870 beforeH6440 them: and shalt be removedH2189 into all the kingdomsH4467 of the earthH0776. 26And thy carcaseH5038 shall be meatH3978 unto all fowlsH5775 of the airH8064, and unto the beastsH0929 of the earthH0776, and no man shall fray them awayH2729. 27The LORDH3068 will smiteH5221 thee with the botchH7822 of EgyptH4714, and with the emerodsH2914, and with the scabH1618, and with the itchH2775, whereof thou canstH3201 not be healedH7495. 28The LORDH3068 shall smiteH5221 thee with madnessH7697, and blindnessH5788, and astonishmentH8541 of heartH3824: 29And thou shalt gropeH4959 at noondayH6672, as the blindH5787 gropethH4959 in darknessH0653, and thou shalt not prosperH6743 in thy waysH1870: and thou shalt be only oppressedH6231 and spoiledH1497 evermoreH3117, and no man shall saveH3467 thee . 30Thou shalt betrothH0781 a wifeH0802, and anotherH0312 manH0376 shall lieH7901 with her: thou shalt buildH1129 an houseH1004, and thou shalt not dwellH3427 therein: thou shalt plantH5193 a vineyardH3754, and shalt not gather the grapesH2490 thereof. 31Thine oxH7794 shall be slainH2873 before thine eyesH5869, and thou shalt not eatH0398 thereof: thine assH2543 shall be violently taken awayH1497 from before thy faceH6440, and shall not be restoredH7725 to thee: thy sheepH6629 shall be givenH5414 unto thine enemiesH0341, and thou shalt have none to rescueH3467 them . 32Thy sonsH1121 and thy daughtersH1323 shall be givenH5414 unto anotherH0312 peopleH5971, and thine eyesH5869 shall lookH7200, and failH3616 with longing for them all the dayH3117 long: and there shall be no mightH0410 in thine handH3027. 33The fruitH6529 of thy landH0127, and all thy laboursH3018, shall a nationH5971 which thou knowestH3045 not eat upH0398; and thou shalt be only oppressedH6231 and crushedH7533 alwayH3117: 34So that thou shalt be madH7696 for the sightH4758 of thine eyesH5869 which thou shalt seeH7200. 35The LORDH3068 shall smiteH5221 thee in the kneesH1290, and in the legsH7785, with a soreH7451 botchH7822 that cannotH3201 be healedH7495, from the soleH3709 of thy footH7272 unto the top of thy headH6936. 36The LORDH3068 shall bringH3212 thee, and thy kingH4428 which thou shalt setH6965 over thee, unto a nationH1471 which neither thou nor thy fathersH0001 have knownH3045; and there shalt thou serveH5647 otherH0312 godsH0430, woodH6086 and stoneH0068. 37And thou shalt become an astonishmentH8047, a proverbH4912, and a bywordH8148, among all nationsH5971 whither the LORDH3068 shall leadH5090 thee. 38Thou shalt carryH3318 muchH7227 seedH2233 outH3318 into the fieldH7704, and shalt gatherH0622 but littleH4592 inH0622; for the locustH0697 shall consumeH2628 it. 39Thou shalt plantH5193 vineyardsH3754, and dressH5647 them , but shalt neither drinkH8354 of the wineH3196, nor gatherH0103 the grapes; for the wormsH8438 shall eatH0398 them. 40Thou shalt have olive treesH2132 throughout all thy coastsH1366, but thou shalt not anointH5480 thyself with the oilH8081; for thine oliveH2132 shall castH5394 his fruit . 41Thou shalt begetH3205 sonsH1121 and daughtersH1323, but thou shalt not enjoy them; for they shall goH3212 into captivityH7628. 42All thy treesH6086 and fruitH6529 of thy landH0127 shall the locustH6767 consumeH3423. 43The strangerH1616 that is withinH7130 thee shall get upH5927 above thee veryH4605 highH4605; and thou shalt come downH3381 veryH4295 lowH4295. 44He shall lendH3867 to thee, and thou shalt not lendH3867 to him: he shall be the headH7218, and thou shalt be the tailH2180.

45Moreover all these cursesH7045 shall comeH0935 upon thee, and shall pursueH7291 thee, and overtakeH5381 thee, till thou be destroyedH8045; because thou hearkenedstH8085 not unto the voiceH6963 of the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430, to keepH8104 his commandmentsH4687 and his statutesH2708 which he commandedH6680 thee: 46And they shall be upon thee for a signH0226 and for a wonderH4159, and upon thy seedH2233 forH5704 everH5769. 47Because thou servedstH5647 not the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 with joyfulnessH8057, and with gladnessH2898 of heartH3824, for the abundanceH7230 of all things; 48Therefore shalt thou serveH5647 thine enemiesH0341 which the LORDH3068 shall sendH7971 against thee, in hungerH7458, and in thirstH6772, and in nakednessH5903, and in wantH2640 of all things: and he shall putH5414 a yokeH5923 of ironH1270 upon thy neckH6677, until he have destroyedH8045 thee. 49The LORDH3068 shall bringH5375 a nationH1471 against thee from farH7350, from the endH7097 of the earthH0776, as swift as the eagleH5404 fliethH1675; a nationH1471 whose tongueH3956 thou shalt not understandH8085; 50A nationH1471 of fierceH5794 countenanceH6440, which shall not regardH5375 the personH6440 of the oldH2205, nor shew favourH2603 to the youngH5288: 51And he shall eatH0398 the fruitH6529 of thy cattleH0929, and the fruitH6529 of thy landH0127, until thou be destroyedH8045: which also shall not leaveH7604 thee either cornH1715, wineH8492, or oilH3323, or the increaseH7698 of thy kineH0504, or flocksH6251 of thy sheepH6629, until he have destroyedH0006 thee. 52And he shall besiegeH6887 thee in all thy gatesH8179, until thy highH1364 and fencedH1219 wallsH2346 come downH3381, whereinH2004 thou trustedstH0982, throughout all thy landH0776: and he shall besiegeH6887 thee in all thy gatesH8179 throughout all thy landH0776, which the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 hath givenH5414 thee. 53And thou shalt eatH0398 the fruitH6529 of thine own bodyH0990, the fleshH1320 of thy sonsH1121 and of thy daughtersH1323, which the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 hath givenH5414 thee, in the siegeH4692, and in the straitnessH4689, wherewith thine enemiesH0341 shall distressH6693 thee: 54 So that the manH0376 that is tenderH7390 among you, and veryH3966 delicateH6028, his eyeH5869 shall be evilH3415 toward his brotherH0251, and toward the wifeH0802 of his bosomH2436, and toward the remnantH3499 of his childrenH1121 which he shall leaveH3498: 55So that he will not giveH5414 to anyH0259 of them of the fleshH1320 of his childrenH1121 whom he shall eatH0398: because he hath nothing leftH7604 him in the siegeH4692, and in the straitnessH4689, wherewith thine enemiesH0341 shall distressH6693 thee in all thy gatesH8179. 56The tenderH7390 and delicateH6028 woman among you, which would not adventureH5254 to setH3322 the soleH3709 of her footH7272 upon the groundH0776 for delicatenessH6026 and tendernessH7391, her eyeH5869 shall be evilH3415 toward the husbandH0376 of her bosomH2436, and toward her sonH1121, and toward her daughterH1323, 57And toward her young oneH7988 that cometh outH3318 from between her feetH7272, and toward her childrenH1121 which she shall bearH3205: for she shall eatH0398 them for wantH2640 of all things secretlyH5643 in the siegeH4692 and straitnessH4689, wherewith thine enemyH0341 shall distressH6693 thee in thy gatesH8179. 58If thou wilt not observeH8104 to doH6213 all the wordsH1697 of this lawH8451 that are writtenH3789 in this bookH5612, that thou mayest fearH3372 this gloriousH3513 and fearfulH3372 nameH8034, THE LORDH3068 THY GODH0430; 59Then the LORDH3068 will makeH6381 thy plaguesH4347 wonderfulH6381, and the plaguesH4347 of thy seedH2233, even greatH1419 plaguesH4347, and of long continuanceH0539, and soreH7451 sicknessesH2483, and of long continuanceH0539. 60Moreover he will bringH7725 upon thee all the diseasesH4064 of EgyptH4714, which thou wast afraidH3025 ofH6440; and they shall cleaveH1692 unto thee. 61Also every sicknessH2483, and every plagueH4347, which is not writtenH3789 in the bookH5612 of this lawH8451, them will the LORDH3068 bringH5927 upon thee, until thou be destroyedH8045. 62And ye shall be leftH7604 fewH4592 in numberH4962, whereasH0834 ye were as the starsH3556 of heavenH8064 for multitudeH7230; because thou wouldest not obeyH8085 the voiceH6963 of the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430. 63And it shall come to pass, that as the LORDH3068 rejoicedH7797 over you to do you goodH3190, and to multiplyH7235 you; so the LORDH3068 will rejoiceH7797 over you to destroyH0006 you, and to bring you to noughtH8045; and ye shall be pluckedH5255 from off the landH0127 whither thou goestH0935 to possessH3423 it. 64And the LORDH3068 shall scatterH6327 thee among all peopleH5971, from the one endH7097 of the earthH0776 even unto the otherH7097; and there thou shalt serveH5647 otherH0312 godsH0430, which neither thou nor thy fathersH0001 have knownH3045, even woodH6086 and stoneH0068. 65And among theseH1992 nationsH1471 shalt thou find no easeH7280, neither shall the soleH3709 of thy footH7272 have restH4494: but the LORDH3068 shall giveH5414 thee there a tremblingH7268 heartH3820, and failingH3631 of eyesH5869, and sorrowH1671 of mindH5315: 66And thy lifeH2416 shall hangH8511 in doubt beforeH5048 thee; and thou shalt fearH6342 dayH3119 and nightH3915, and shalt have none assuranceH0539 of thy lifeH2416: 67In the morningH1242 thou shalt sayH0559, Would God it wereH5414 evenH6153! and at evenH6153 thou shalt sayH0559, Would God it wereH5414 morningH1242! for the fearH6343 of thine heartH3824 wherewith thou shalt fearH6342, and for the sightH4758 of thine eyesH5869 which thou shalt seeH7200. 68And the LORDH3068 shall bringH7725 thee into EgyptH4714 againH7725 with shipsH0591, by the wayH1870 whereof I spakeH0559 unto thee, Thou shalt seeH7200 it no more againH3254: and there ye shall be soldH4376 unto your enemiesH0341 for bondmenH5650 and bondwomenH8198, and no man shall buyH7069 you .

Deuteronomy: Chapter 29

1These are the wordsH1697 of the covenantH1285, which the LORDH3068 commandedH6680 MosesH4872 to makeH3772 with the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478 in the landH0776 of MoabH4124, beside the covenantH1285 which he madeH3772 with them in HorebH2722.

2And MosesH4872 calledH7121 unto all IsraelH3478, and saidH0559 unto them, Ye have seenH7200 all that the LORDH3068 didH6213 before your eyesH5869 in the landH0776 of EgyptH4714 unto PharaohH6547, and unto all his servantsH5650, and unto all his landH0776; 3The greatH1419 temptationsH4531 which thine eyesH5869 have seenH7200, the signsH0226, and those greatH1419 miraclesH4159: 4Yet the LORDH3068 hath not givenH5414 you an heartH3820 to perceiveH3045, and eyesH5869 to seeH7200, and earsH0241 to hearH8085, unto this dayH3117. 5And I have ledH3212 you fortyH0705 yearsH8141 in the wildernessH4057: your clothesH8008 are not waxen oldH1086 upon you, and thy shoeH5275 is not waxen oldH1086 upon thy footH7272. 6Ye have not eatenH0398 breadH3899, neither have ye drunkH8354 wineH3196 or strong drinkH7941: that ye might knowH3045 that I am the LORDH3068 your GodH0430. 7And when ye cameH0935 unto this placeH4725, SihonH5511 the kingH4428 of HeshbonH2809, and OgH5747 the kingH4428 of BashanH1316, came outH3318 againstH7125 us unto battleH4421, and we smoteH5221 them: 8And we tookH3947 their landH0776, and gaveH5414 it for an inheritanceH5159 unto the ReubenitesH7206, and to the GaditesH1425, and to the halfH2677 tribeH7626 of ManassehH4520. 9KeepH8104 therefore the wordsH1697 of this covenantH1285, and doH6213 them, that ye may prosperH7919 in all that ye doH6213.

10Ye standH5324 this dayH3117 all of you beforeH6440 the LORDH3068 your GodH0430; your captainsH7218 of your tribesH7626, your eldersH2205, and your officersH7860, with all the menH0376 of IsraelH3478, 11Your little onesH2945, your wivesH0802, and thy strangerH1616 that is inH7130 thy campH4264, from the hewerH2404 of thy woodH6086 unto the drawerH7579 of thy waterH4325: 12That thou shouldest enterH5674 into covenantH1285 with the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430, and into his oathH0423, which the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 makethH3772 with thee this dayH3117: 13That he may establishH6965 thee to dayH3117 for a peopleH5971 unto himself, and that he may be unto thee a GodH0430, as he hath saidH1696 unto thee, and as he hath swornH7650 unto thy fathersH0001, to AbrahamH0085, to IsaacH3327, and to JacobH3290. 14Neither with you only do I makeH3772 this covenantH1285 and this oathH0423; 15But with him that standethH5975 here with us thisH3426 dayH3117 beforeH6440 the LORDH3068 our GodH0430, and also with him that is not here with us this dayH3117: 16(For ye knowH3045 how we have dweltH3427 in the landH0776 of EgyptH4714; and how we cameH5674 throughH7130 the nationsH1471 which ye passed byH5674; 17And ye have seenH7200 their abominationsH8251, and their idolsH1544, woodH6086 and stoneH0068, silverH3701 and goldH2091, which were among them:) 18Lest there should beH3426 among you manH0376, or womanH0802, or familyH4940, or tribeH7626, whose heartH3824 turneth awayH6437 this dayH3117 from the LORDH3068 our GodH0430, to goH3212 and serveH5647 the godsH0430 of these nationsH1471; lest there should beH3426 among you a rootH8328 that bearethH6509 gallH7219 and wormwoodH3939; 19And it come to pass, when he hearethH8085 the wordsH1697 of this curseH0423, that he blessH1288 himself in his heartH3824, sayingH0559, I shall have peaceH7965, thoughH3588 I walkH3212 in the imaginationH8307 of mine heartH3820, to addH5595 drunkennessH7302 to thirstH6771: 20The LORDH3068 willH0014 not spareH5545 him, but then the angerH0639 of the LORDH3068 and his jealousyH7068 shall smokeH6225 against that manH0376, and all the cursesH0423 that are writtenH3789 in this bookH5612 shall lieH7257 upon him, and the LORDH3068 shall blot outH4229 his nameH8034 from under heavenH8064. 21And the LORDH3068 shall separateH0914 him unto evilH7451 out of all the tribesH7626 of IsraelH3478, according to all the cursesH0423 of the covenantH1285 that are writtenH3789 in this bookH5612 of the lawH8451: 22So that the generationH1755 to comeH0314 of your childrenH1121 that shall rise upH6965 afterH0310 you, and the strangerH5237 that shall comeH0935 from a farH7350 landH0776, shall sayH0559, when they seeH7200 the plaguesH4347 of that landH0776, and the sicknessesH8463 which the LORDH3068 hath laidH2470 upon it; 23 And that the whole landH0776 thereof is brimstoneH1614, and saltH4417, and burningH8316, that it is not sownH2232, nor bearethH6779, nor any grassH6212 growethH5927 therein, like the overthrowH4114 of SodomH5467, and GomorrahH6017, AdmahH0126, and ZeboimH6636, which the LORDH3068 overthrewH2015 in his angerH0639, and in his wrathH2534: 24Even all nationsH1471 shall sayH0559, Wherefore hath the LORDH3068 doneH6213 thus unto this landH0776? what meaneth the heatH2750 of this greatH1419 angerH0639? 25Then men shall sayH0559, Because they have forsakenH5800 the covenantH1285 of the LORDH3068 GodH0430 of their fathersH0001, which he madeH3772 with them when he brought them forthH3318 out of the landH0776 of EgyptH4714: 26For they wentH3212 and servedH5647 otherH0312 godsH0430, and worshippedH7812 them, godsH0430 whom they knewH3045 not, and whom he had not givenH2505 unto them: 27And the angerH0639 of the LORDH3068 was kindledH2734 against this landH0776, to bringH0935 upon it all the cursesH7045 that are writtenH3789 in this bookH5612: 28And the LORDH3068 rootedH5428 them out of their landH0127 in angerH0639, and in wrathH2534, and in greatH1419 indignationH7110, and castH7993 them into anotherH0312 landH0776, as it is this dayH3117. 29The secretH5641 things belong unto the LORDH3068 our GodH0430: but those things which are revealedH1540 belong unto us and to our childrenH1121 forH5704 everH5769, that we may doH6213 all the wordsH1697 of this lawH8451.

Deuteronomy: Chapter 30

1And it shall come to pass, when all these thingsH1697 are comeH0935 upon thee, the blessingH1293 and the curseH7045, which I have setH5414 beforeH6440 thee, and thou shalt callH7725 them to mindH3824 among all the nationsH1471, whither the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 hath drivenH5080 thee, 2And shalt returnH7725 unto the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430, and shalt obeyH8085 his voiceH6963 according to all that I commandH6680 thee this dayH3117, thou and thy childrenH1121, with all thine heartH3824, and with all thy soulH5315; 3That then the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 will turnH7725 thy captivityH7622, and have compassionH7355 upon thee, and will returnH7725 and gatherH6908 thee from all the nationsH5971, whither the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 hath scatteredH6327 thee. 4If any of thine be driven outH5080 unto the outmostH7097 parts of heavenH8064, from thence will the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 gatherH6908 thee, and from thence will he fetchH3947 thee: 5And the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 will bringH0935 thee into the landH0776 which thy fathersH0001 possessedH3423, and thou shalt possessH3423 it; and he will do thee goodH3190, and multiplyH7235 thee above thy fathersH0001. 6And the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 will circumciseH4135 thine heartH3824, and the heartH3824 of thy seedH2233, to loveH0157 the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 with all thine heartH3824, and with all thy soulH5315, that thou mayest liveH2416. 7And the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 will putH5414 all these cursesH0423 upon thine enemiesH0341, and on them that hateH8130 thee, which persecutedH7291 thee. 8And thou shalt returnH7725 and obeyH8085 the voiceH6963 of the LORDH3068, and doH6213 all his commandmentsH4687 which I commandH6680 thee this dayH3117. 9And the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 will make thee plenteousH3498 in every workH4639 of thine handH3027, in the fruitH6529 of thy bodyH0990, and in the fruitH6529 of thy cattleH0929, and in the fruitH6529 of thy landH0127, for goodH2896: for the LORDH3068 will againH7725 rejoiceH7797 over thee for goodH2896, as he rejoicedH7797 over thy fathersH0001: 10If thou shalt hearkenH8085 unto the voiceH6963 of the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430, to keepH8104 his commandmentsH4687 and his statutesH2708 which are writtenH3789 in this bookH5612 of the lawH8451, and if thou turnH7725 unto the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 with all thine heartH3824, and with all thy soulH5315.

11For this commandmentH4687 which I commandH6680 thee this dayH3117, it is not hiddenH6381 from thee, neither is it far offH7350. 12It is not in heavenH8064, that thou shouldest sayH0559, Who shall go upH5927 for us to heavenH8064, and bringH3947 it unto us, that we may hearH8085 it, and doH6213 it? 13Neither is it beyondH5676 the seaH3220, that thou shouldest sayH0559, Who shall goH5674 overH5676 the seaH3220 for us, and bringH3947 it unto us, that we may hearH8085 it, and doH6213 it? 14But the wordH1697 is veryH3966 nighH7138 unto thee, in thy mouthH6310, and in thy heartH3824, that thou mayest doH6213 it.

15SeeH7200, I have setH5414 beforeH6440 thee this dayH3117 lifeH2416 and goodH2896, and deathH4194 and evilH7451; 16In that I commandH6680 thee this dayH3117 to loveH0157 the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430, to walkH3212 in his waysH1870, and to keepH8104 his commandmentsH4687 and his statutesH2708 and his judgmentsH4941, that thou mayest liveH2421 and multiplyH7235: and the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 shall blessH1288 thee in the landH0776 whither thou goestH0935 to possessH3423 it. 17But if thine heartH3824 turn awayH6437, so that thou wilt not hearH8085, but shalt be drawn awayH5080, and worshipH7812 otherH0312 godsH0430, and serveH5647 them; 18I denounceH5046 unto you this dayH3117, that ye shall surelyH0006 perishH0006, and that ye shall not prolongH0748 your daysH3117 upon the landH0127, whither thou passest overH5674 JordanH3383 to goH0935 to possessH3423 it. 19I callH5749 heavenH8064 and earthH0776 to recordH5749 this dayH3117 against you, that I have setH5414 beforeH6440 you lifeH2416 and deathH4194, blessingH1293 and cursingH7045: therefore chooseH0977 lifeH2416, that both thou and thy seedH2233 may liveH2421: 20That thou mayest loveH0157 the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430, and that thou mayest obeyH8085 his voiceH6963, and that thou mayest cleaveH1692 unto him: for he is thy lifeH2416, and the lengthH0753 of thy daysH3117: that thou mayest dwellH3427 in the landH0127 which the LORDH3068 swareH7650 unto thy fathersH0001, to AbrahamH0085, to IsaacH3327, and to JacobH3290, to giveH5414 them.

Deuteronomy: Chapter 31

1And MosesH4872 wentH3212 and spakeH1696 these wordsH1697 unto all IsraelH3478. 2And he saidH0559 unto them, I am an hundredH3967 and twentyH6242 yearsH8141 oldH1121 this dayH3117; I canH3201 no more go outH3318 and come inH0935: also the LORDH3068 hath saidH0559 unto me, Thou shalt not go overH5674 this JordanH3383. 3The LORDH3068 thy GodH0430, he will go overH5674 beforeH6440 thee, and he will destroyH8045 these nationsH1471 from beforeH6440 thee, and thou shalt possessH3423 them: and JoshuaH3091, he shall go overH5674 beforeH6440 thee, as the LORDH3068 hath saidH1696. 4And the LORDH3068 shall doH6213 unto them as he didH6213 to SihonH5511 and to OgH5747, kingsH4428 of the AmoritesH0567, and unto the landH0776 of them, whom he destroyedH8045. 5And the LORDH3068 shall give them upH5414 before your faceH6440, that ye may doH6213 unto them according unto all the commandmentsH4687 which I have commandedH6680 you. 6Be strongH2388 and of a good courageH0553, fearH3372 not, nor be afraidH6206 of themH6440: for the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430, he it is that doth goH1980 with thee; he will not failH7503 thee, nor forsakeH5800 thee.

7And MosesH4872 calledH7121 unto JoshuaH3091, and saidH0559 unto him in the sightH5869 of all IsraelH3478, Be strongH2388 and of a good courageH0553: for thou must goH0935 with this peopleH5971 unto the landH0776 which the LORDH3068 hath swornH7650 unto their fathersH0001 to giveH5414 them; and thou shalt cause them to inheritH5157 it. 8And the LORDH3068, he it is that doth goH1980 beforeH6440 thee; he will be with thee, he will not failH7503 thee, neither forsakeH5800 thee: fearH3372 not, neither be dismayedH2865.

9And MosesH4872 wroteH3789 this lawH8451, and deliveredH5414 it unto the priestsH3548 the sonsH1121 of LeviH3878, which bareH5375 the arkH0727 of the covenantH1285 of the LORDH3068, and unto all the eldersH2205 of IsraelH3478. 10And MosesH4872 commandedH6680 them, sayingH0559, At the endH7093 of every sevenH7651 yearsH8141, in the solemnityH4150 of the yearH8141 of releaseH8059, in the feastH2282 of tabernaclesH5521, 11When all IsraelH3478 is comeH0935 to appearH7200 beforeH6440 the LORDH3068 thy GodH0430 in the placeH4725 which he shall chooseH0977, thou shalt readH7121 this lawH8451 before all IsraelH3478 in their hearingH0241. 12GatherH6950 the peopleH5971 togetherH6950, menH0582, and womenH0802, and childrenH2945, and thy strangerH1616 that is within thy gatesH8179, that they may hearH8085, and that they may learnH3925, and fearH3372 the LORDH3068 your GodH0430, and observeH8104 to doH6213 all the wordsH1697 of this lawH8451: 13And that their childrenH1121, which have not knownH3045 any thing , may hearH8085, and learnH3925 to fearH3372 the LORDH3068 your GodH0430, as long asH3117 ye liveH2416 in the landH0127 whither ye go overH5674 JordanH3383 to possessH3423 it.

14And the LORDH3068 saidH0559 unto MosesH4872, Behold, thy daysH3117 approachH7126 that thou must dieH4191: callH7121 JoshuaH3091, and presentH3320 yourselves in the tabernacleH0168 of the congregationH4150, that I may give him a chargeH6680. And MosesH4872 and JoshuaH3091 wentH3212, and presentedH3320 themselves in the tabernacleH0168 of the congregationH4150. 15And the LORDH3068 appearedH7200 in the tabernacleH0168 in a pillarH5982 of a cloudH6051: and the pillarH5982 of the cloudH6051 stoodH5975 over the doorH6607 of the tabernacleH0168.

16And the LORDH3068 saidH0559 unto MosesH4872, Behold, thou shalt sleepH7901 with thy fathersH0001; and this peopleH5971 will rise upH6965, and go a whoringH2181 afterH0310 the godsH0430 of the strangersH5236 of the landH0776, whither they goH0935 to be amongH7130 them, and will forsakeH5800 me, and breakH6565 my covenantH1285 which I have madeH3772 with them. 17Then my angerH0639 shall be kindledH2734 against them in that dayH3117, and I will forsakeH5800 them, and I will hideH5641 my faceH6440 from them, and they shall be devouredH0398, and manyH7227 evilsH7451 and troublesH6869 shall befallH4672 them; so that they will sayH0559 in that dayH3117, Are not these evilsH7451 comeH4672 upon us, because our GodH0430 is not amongH7130 us? 18And I will surelyH5641 hideH5641 my faceH6440 in that dayH3117 for all the evilsH7451 which they shall have wroughtH6213, in thatH3588 they are turnedH6437 unto otherH0312 godsH0430. 19Now therefore writeH3789 ye this songH7892 for you, and teachH3925 it the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478: putH7760 it in their mouthsH6310, that this songH7892 may be a witnessH5707 for me against the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478. 20For when I shall have broughtH0935 them into the landH0127 which I swareH7650 unto their fathersH0001, that flowethH2100 with milkH2461 and honeyH1706; and they shall have eatenH0398 and filledH7646 themselves, and waxen fatH1878; then will they turnH6437 unto otherH0312 godsH0430, and serveH5647 them, and provokeH5006 me, and breakH6565 my covenantH1285. 21And it shall come to pass, when manyH7227 evilsH7451 and troublesH6869 are befallenH4672 them, that this songH7892 shall testifyH6030 againstH6440 them as a witnessH5707; for it shall not be forgottenH7911 out of the mouthsH6310 of their seedH2233: for I knowH3045 their imaginationH3336 which they go aboutH6213, even nowH3117, before I have broughtH0935 them into the landH0776 which I swareH7650.

22 MosesH4872 therefore wroteH3789 this songH7892 the same dayH3117, and taughtH3925 it the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478. 23And he gave JoshuaH3091 the sonH1121 of NunH5126 a chargeH6680, and saidH0559, Be strongH2388 and of a good courageH0553: for thou shalt bringH0935 the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478 into the landH0776 which I swareH7650 unto them: and I will be with thee.

24And it came to pass, when MosesH4872 had made an endH3615 of writingH3789 the wordsH1697 of this lawH8451 in a bookH5612, until they were finishedH8552, 25That MosesH4872 commandedH6680 the LevitesH3881, which bareH5375 the arkH0727 of the covenantH1285 of the LORDH3068, sayingH0559, 26TakeH3947 this bookH5612 of the lawH8451, and putH7760 it in the sideH6654 of the arkH0727 of the covenantH1285 of the LORDH3068 your GodH0430, that it may be there for a witnessH5707 against thee. 27For I knowH3045 thy rebellionH4805, and thy stiffH7186 neckH6203: behold, while I am yet aliveH2416 with you this dayH3117, ye have been rebelliousH4784 against the LORDH3068; and how much more afterH0310 my deathH4194?

28GatherH6950 unto me all the eldersH2205 of your tribesH7626, and your officersH7860, that I may speakH1696 these wordsH1697 in their earsH0241, and callH5749 heavenH8064 and earthH0776 to recordH5749 against them. 29For I knowH3045 that afterH0310 my deathH4194 ye will utterlyH7843 corruptH7843 yourselves , and turn asideH5493 from the wayH1870 which I have commandedH6680 you; and evilH7451 will befallH7122 you in the latterH0319 daysH3117; because ye will doH6213 evilH7451 in the sightH5869 of the LORDH3068, to provoke him to angerH3707 through the workH4639 of your handsH3027. 30And MosesH4872 spakeH1696 in the earsH0241 of all the congregationH6951 of IsraelH3478 the wordsH1697 of this songH7892, until they were endedH8552.

Deuteronomy: Chapter 32

1Give earH0238, O ye heavensH8064, and I will speakH1696; and hearH8085, O earthH0776, the wordsH0561 of my mouthH6310. 2My doctrineH3948 shall dropH6201 as the rainH4306, my speechH0565 shall distilH5140 as the dewH2919, as the small rainH8164 upon the tender herbH1877, and as the showersH7241 upon the grassH6212: 3Because I will publishH7121 the nameH8034 of the LORDH3068: ascribeH3051 ye greatnessH1433 unto our GodH0430. 4 He is the RockH6697, his workH6467 is perfectH8549: for all his waysH1870 are judgmentH4941: a GodH0410 of truthH0530 and without iniquityH5766, justH6662 and rightH3477 is he. 5They have corruptedH7843 themselves, their spotH3971 is not the spot of his childrenH1121: they are a perverseH6141 and crookedH6618 generationH1755. 6Do ye thus requiteH1580 the LORDH3068, O foolishH5036 peopleH5971 and unwiseH2450? is not he thy fatherH0001 that hath boughtH7069 thee? hath he not madeH6213 thee, and establishedH3559 thee?

7RememberH2142 the daysH3117 of oldH5769, considerH0995 the yearsH8141 of manyH1755 generationsH1755: askH7592 thy fatherH0001, and he will shewH5046 thee; thy eldersH2205, and they will tellH0559 thee. 8When the most HighH5945 dividedH5157 to the nationsH1471 their inheritanceH5157, when he separatedH6504 the sonsH1121 of AdamH0120, he setH5324 the boundsH1367 of the peopleH5971 according to the numberH4557 of the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478. 9For the LORDsH3068 portionH2506 is his peopleH5971; JacobH3290 is the lotH2256 of his inheritanceH5159. 10He foundH4672 him in a desertH4057 landH0776, and in the wasteH8414 howlingH3214 wildernessH3452; he led him aboutH5437, he instructedH0995 him, he keptH5341 him as the appleH0380 of his eyeH5869. 11As an eagleH5404 stirreth upH5782 her nestH7064, flutterethH7363 over her youngH1469, spreadeth abroadH6566 her wingsH3671, takethH3947 them, bearethH5375 them on her wingsH0084: 12 So the LORDH3068 aloneH0910 did leadH5148 him, and there was no strangeH5236 godH0410 with him. 13He made him rideH7392 on the high placesH1116 of the earthH0776, that he might eatH0398 the increaseH8570 of the fieldsH7704; and he made him to suckH3243 honeyH1706 out of the rockH5553, and oilH8081 out of the flintyH2496 rockH6697; 14ButterH2529 of kineH1241, and milkH2461 of sheepH6629, with fatH2459 of lambsH3733, and ramsH0352 of the breedH1121 of BashanH1316, and goatsH6260, with the fatH2459 of kidneysH3629 of wheatH2406; and thou didst drinkH8354 the pureH2561 bloodH1818 of the grapeH6025.

15But JeshurunH3484 waxed fatH8080, and kickedH1163: thou art waxen fatH8080, thou art grown thickH5666, thou art coveredH3780 with fatness; then he forsookH5203 GodH0433 which madeH6213 him, and lightly esteemedH5034 the RockH6697 of his salvationH3444. 16They provoked him to jealousyH7065 with strangeH2114 gods , with abominationsH8441 provoked they him to angerH3707. 17They sacrificedH2076 unto devilsH7700, not to GodH0433; to godsH0430 whom they knewH3045 not, to newH2319 gods that cameH0935 newlyH7138 upH0935, whom your fathersH0001 fearedH8175 not. 18Of the RockH6697 that begatH3205 thee thou art unmindfulH7876, and hast forgottenH7911 GodH0410 that formedH2342 thee.

19And when the LORDH3068 sawH7200 it , he abhorredH5006 them , because of the provokingH3708 of his sonsH1121, and of his daughtersH1323. 20And he saidH0559, I will hideH5641 my faceH6440 from them, I will seeH7200 what their endH0319 shall be: for they are a very frowardH8419 generationH1755, childrenH1121 in whom is no faithH0529. 21They have moved me to jealousyH7065 with that which is notH3808 GodH0410; they have provoked me to angerH3707 with their vanitiesH1892: and I will move them to jealousyH7065 with those which are not a peopleH5971; I will provoke them to angerH3707 with a foolishH5036 nationH1471. 22For a fireH0784 is kindledH6919 in mine angerH0639, and shall burnH3344 unto the lowestH8482 hellH7585, and shall consumeH0398 the earthH0776 with her increaseH2981, and set on fireH3857 the foundationsH4144 of the mountainsH2022. 23I will heapH5595 mischiefsH7451 upon them; I will spendH3615 mine arrowsH2671 upon them. 24 They shall be burntH4198 with hungerH7458, and devouredH3898 with burning heatH7565, and with bitterH4815 destructionH6986: I will also sendH7971 the teethH8127 of beastsH0929 upon them, with the poisonH2534 of serpentsH2119 of the dustH6083. 25The swordH2719 withoutH2351, and terrorH0367 withinH2315, shall destroyH7921 both the young manH0970 and the virginH1330, the sucklingH3243 also with the manH0376 of gray hairsH7872.

26I saidH0559, I would scatter them into cornersH6284, I would make the remembranceH2143 of them to ceaseH7673 from among menH0582: 27Were it notH3884 that I fearedH1481 the wrathH3708 of the enemyH0341, lest their adversariesH6862 should behave themselves strangelyH5234, and lest they should sayH0559, Our handH3027 is highH7311, and the LORDH3068 hath not doneH6466 all this. 28For they are a nationH1471 voidH0006 of counselH6098, neither is there any understandingH8394 in them. 29O thatH3863 they were wiseH2449, that they understoodH7919 this, that they would considerH0995 their latter endH0319! 30How should oneH0259 chaseH7291 a thousandH0505, and twoH8147 put tenH7233 thousandH0505 to flightH5127, exceptH3808 their RockH6697 had soldH4376 themH3588, and the LORDH3068 had shut them upH5462? 31For their rockH6697 is not as our RockH6697, even our enemiesH0341 themselves being judgesH6414. 32For their vineH1612 is of the vineH1612 of SodomH5467, and of the fieldsH7709 of GomorrahH6017: their grapesH6025 are grapesH6025 of gallH7219, their clustersH0811 are bitterH4846: 33Their wineH3196 is the poisonH2534 of dragonsH8577, and the cruelH0393 venomH7219 of aspsH6620. 34 Is not this laid up in storeH3647 with me, and sealed upH2856 among my treasuresH0214? 35To me belongeth vengeanceH5359, and recompenceH8005; their footH7272 shall slideH4131 in due timeH6256: for the dayH3117 of their calamityH0343 is at handH7138, and the things that shall comeH6264 upon them make hasteH2363. 36For the LORDH3068 shall judgeH1777 his peopleH5971, and repentH5162 himself for his servantsH5650, when he seethH7200 that their powerH3027 is goneH0235, and there is noneH0657 shut upH6113, or leftH5800. 37And he shall sayH0559, Where are their godsH0430, their rockH6697 in whom they trustedH2620, 38Which did eatH0398 the fatH2459 of their sacrificesH2077, and drankH8354 the wineH3196 of their drink offeringsH5257? let them rise upH6965 and helpH5826 you, and be your protectionH5643.

39SeeH7200 now that I, even I, am he, and there is no godH0430 with me: I killH4191, and I make aliveH2421; I woundH4272, and I healH7495: neither is there any that can deliverH5337 out of my handH3027. 40For I lift upH5375 my handH3027 to heavenH8064, and sayH0559, I liveH2416 for everH5769. 41If I whetH8150 my glitteringH1300 swordH2719, and mine handH3027 take holdH0270 on judgmentH4941; I will renderH7725 vengeanceH5359 to mine enemiesH6862, and will rewardH7999 them that hateH8130 me. 42I will make mine arrowsH2671 drunkH7937 with bloodH1818, and my swordH2719 shall devourH0398 fleshH1320; and that with the bloodH1818 of the slainH2491 and of the captivesH7633, from the beginningH7218 of revengesH6546 upon the enemyH0341. 43RejoiceH7442, O ye nationsH1471, with his peopleH5971: for he will avengeH5358 the bloodH1818 of his servantsH5650, and will renderH7725 vengeanceH5359 to his adversariesH6862, and will be mercifulH3722 unto his landH0127, and to his peopleH5971.

44And MosesH4872 cameH0935 and spakeH1696 all the wordsH1697 of this songH7892 in the earsH0241 of the peopleH5971, he, and HosheaH1954 the sonH1121 of NunH5126. 45And MosesH4872 made an endH3615 of speakingH1696 all these wordsH1697 to all IsraelH3478: 46And he saidH0559 unto them, SetH7760 your heartsH3824 unto all the wordsH1697 which I testifyH5749 among you this dayH3117, which ye shall commandH6680 your childrenH1121 to observeH8104 to doH6213, all the wordsH1697 of this lawH8451. 47For it is not a vainH7386 thingH1697 for you; because it is your lifeH2416: and through this thingH1697 ye shall prolongH0748 your daysH3117 in the landH0127, whither ye go overH5674 JordanH3383 to possessH3423 it. 48And the LORDH3068 spakeH1696 unto MosesH4872 that selfsameH6106 dayH3117, sayingH0559, 49Get thee upH5927 into this mountainH2022 AbarimH5682, unto mountH2022 NeboH5015, which is in the landH0776 of MoabH4124, that is over againstH6440 JerichoH3405; and beholdH7200 the landH0776 of CanaanH3667, which I giveH5414 unto the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478 for a possessionH0272: 50And dieH4191 in the mountH2022 whither thou goest upH5927, and be gatheredH0622 unto thy peopleH5971; as AaronH0175 thy brotherH0251 diedH4191 in mountH2022 HorH2023, and was gatheredH0622 unto his peopleH5971: 51Because ye trespassedH4603 against me amongH8432 the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478 at the watersH4325 of Meribah-KadeshH4808, in the wildernessH4057 of ZinH6790; because ye sanctifiedH6942 me not in the midstH8432 of the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478. 52Yet thou shalt seeH7200 the landH0776 before thee; but thou shalt not goH0935 thither unto the landH0776 which I giveH5414 the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478.

Deuteronomy: Chapter 33

1And this is the blessingH1293, wherewith MosesH4872 the manH0376 of GodH0430 blessedH1288 the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478 beforeH6440 his deathH4194. 2And he saidH0559, The LORDH3068 cameH0935 from SinaiH5514, and rose upH2224 from SeirH8165 unto them; he shined forthH3313 from mountH2022 ParanH6290, and he cameH0857 with ten thousandsH7233 of saintsH6944: from his right handH3225 went a fieryH0799 lawH1881 for them. 3YeaH0637, he lovedH2245 the peopleH5971; all his saintsH6918 are in thy handH3027: and they sat downH8497 at thy feetH7272; every one shall receiveH5375 of thy wordsH1703. 4 MosesH4872 commandedH6680 us a lawH8451, even the inheritanceH4181 of the congregationH6952 of JacobH3290. 5And he was kingH4428 in JeshurunH3484, when the headsH7218 of the peopleH5971 and the tribesH7626 of IsraelH3478 were gatheredH0622 togetherH3162.

6Let ReubenH7205 liveH2421, and not dieH4191; and let not his menH4962 be fewH4557.

7And this is the blessing of JudahH3063: and he saidH0559, HearH8085, LORDH3068, the voiceH6963 of JudahH3063, and bringH0935 him unto his peopleH5971: let his handsH3027 be sufficientH7227 for him; and be thou an helpH5828 to him from his enemiesH6862.

8And of LeviH3878 he saidH0559, Let thy ThummimH8550 and thy UrimH0224 be with thy holyH2623 oneH0376, whom thou didst proveH5254 at MassahH4532, and with whom thou didst striveH7378 at the watersH4325 of MeribahH4809; 9Who saidH0559 unto his fatherH0001 and to his motherH0517, I have not seenH7200 him; neither did he acknowledgeH5234 his brethrenH0251, nor knewH3045 his own childrenH1121: for they have observedH8104 thy wordH0565, and keptH5341 thy covenantH1285. 10They shall teachH3384 JacobH3290 thy judgmentsH4941, and IsraelH3478 thy lawH8451: they shall putH7760 incenseH6988 beforeH0639 thee, and whole burnt sacrificeH3632 upon thine altarH4196. 11BlessH1288, LORDH3068, his substanceH2428, and acceptH7521 the workH6467 of his handsH3027: smiteH4272 through the loinsH4975 of them that riseH6965 against him, and of them that hateH8130 him, that they riseH6965 notH4480 againH6965.

12 And of BenjaminH1144 he saidH0559, The belovedH3039 of the LORDH3068 shall dwellH7931 in safetyH0983 by him; and the Lord shall coverH2653 him all the dayH3117 long, and he shall dwellH7931 between his shouldersH3802.

13And of JosephH3130 he saidH0559, BlessedH1288 of the LORDH3068 be his landH0776, for the precious thingsH4022 of heavenH8064, for the dewH2919, and for the deepH8415 that coucheth beneathH7257, 14And for the preciousH4022 fruitsH8393 brought forth by the sunH8121, and for the precious thingsH4022 put forthH1645 by the moonH3391, 15And for the chief thingsH7218 of the ancientH6924 mountainsH2042, and for the precious thingsH4022 of the lastingH5769 hillsH1389, 16And for the precious thingsH4022 of the earthH0776 and fulnessH4393 thereof, and for the good willH7522 of him that dweltH7931 in the bushH5572: let the blessing comeH0935 upon the headH7218 of JosephH3130, and upon the top of the headH6936 of him that was separatedH5139 from his brethrenH0251. 17His gloryH1926 is like the firstlingH1060 of his bullockH7794, and his hornsH7161 are like the hornsH7161 of unicornsH7214: with them he shall pushH5055 the peopleH5971 togetherH3162 to the endsH0657 of the earthH0776: and they are the ten thousandsH7233 of EphraimH0669, and they are the thousandsH0505 of ManassehH4519.

18And of ZebulunH2074 he saidH0559, RejoiceH8055, ZebulunH2074, in thy going outH3318; and, IssacharH3485, in thy tentsH0168. 19They shall callH7121 the peopleH5971 unto the mountainH2022; there they shall offerH2076 sacrificesH2077 of righteousnessH6664: for they shall suckH3243 of the abundanceH8228 of the seasH3220, and of treasuresH8226 hidH2934 in the sandH2344.

20And of GadH1410 he saidH0559, BlessedH1288 be he that enlargethH7337 GadH1410: he dwellethH7931 as a lionH3833, and tearethH2963 the armH2220 withH0637 the crown of the headH6936. 21And he providedH7200 the first partH7225 for himself, because there, in a portionH2513 of the lawgiverH2710, was he seatedH5603; and he cameH0857 with the headsH7218 of the peopleH5971, he executedH6213 the justiceH6666 of the LORDH3068, and his judgmentsH4941 with IsraelH3478.

22And of DanH1835 he saidH0559, DanH1835 is a lionsH0738 whelpH1482: he shall leapH2187 from BashanH1316.

23And of NaphtaliH5321 he saidH0559, O NaphtaliH5321, satisfiedH7649 with favourH7522, and fullH4392 with the blessingH1293 of the LORDH3068: possessH3423 thou the westH3220 and the southH1864.

24And of AsherH0836 he saidH0559, Let AsherH0836 be blessedH1288 with childrenH1121; let him be acceptableH7521 to his brethrenH0251, and let him dipH2881 his footH7272 in oilH8081. 25Thy shoesH4515 shall be ironH1270 and brassH5178; and as thy daysH3117, so shall thy strengthH1679 be .

26 There is none like unto the GodH0410 of JeshurunH3484, who ridethH7392 upon the heavenH8064 in thy helpH5828, and in his excellencyH1346 on the skyH7834. 27The eternalH6924 GodH0430 is thy refugeH4585, and underneath are the everlastingH5769 armsH2220: and he shall thrust outH1644 the enemyH0341 from beforeH6440 thee; and shall sayH0559, DestroyH8045 them . 28 IsraelH3478 then shall dwellH7931 in safetyH0983 aloneH0910: the fountainH5869 of JacobH3290 shall be upon a landH0776 of cornH1715 and wineH8492; also his heavensH8064 shall drop downH6201 dewH2919. 29HappyH0835 art thou, O IsraelH3478: who is like unto thee, O peopleH5971 savedH3467 by the LORDH3068, the shieldH4043 of thy helpH5828, and who is the swordH2719 of thy excellencyH1346! and thine enemiesH0341 shall be found liarsH3584 unto thee; and thou shalt treadH1869 upon their high placesH1116.

Deuteronomy: Chapter 34

1And MosesH4872 went upH5927 from the plainsH6160 of MoabH4124 unto the mountainH2022 of NeboH5015, to the topH7218 of PisgahH6449, that is over againstH6440 JerichoH3405. And the LORDH3068 shewedH7200 him all the landH0776 of GileadH1568, unto DanH1835, 2And all NaphtaliH5321, and the landH0776 of EphraimH0669, and ManassehH4519, and all the landH0776 of JudahH3063, unto the utmostH0314 seaH3220, 3And the southH5045, and the plainH3603 of the valleyH1237 of JerichoH3405, the cityH5892 of palm treesH8558, unto ZoarH6820. 4And the LORDH3068 saidH0559 unto him, This is the landH0776 which I swareH7650 unto AbrahamH0085, unto IsaacH3327, and unto JacobH3290, sayingH0559, I will giveH5414 it unto thy seedH2233: I have caused thee to seeH7200 it with thine eyesH5869, but thou shalt not go overH5674 thither.

5So MosesH4872 the servantH5650 of the LORDH3068 diedH4191 there in the landH0776 of MoabH4124, according to the wordH6310 of the LORDH3068. 6And he buriedH6912 him in a valleyH1516 in the landH0776 of MoabH4124, over againstH4136 Beth-peorH1047: but no manH0376 knowethH3045 of his sepulchreH6900 unto this dayH3117.

7And MosesH4872 was an hundredH3967 and twentyH6242 yearsH8141 oldH1121 when he diedH4194: his eyeH5869 was not dimH3543, nor his natural forceH3893 abatedH5127.

8And the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478 weptH1058 for MosesH4872 in the plainsH6160 of MoabH4124 thirtyH7970 daysH3117: so the daysH3117 of weepingH1065 and mourningH0060 for MosesH4872 were endedH8552.

9And JoshuaH3091 the sonH1121 of NunH5126 was fullH4392 of the spiritH7307 of wisdomH2451; for MosesH4872 had laidH5564 his handsH3027 upon him: and the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478 hearkenedH8085 unto him, and didH6213 as the LORDH3068 commandedH6680 MosesH4872.

10And there aroseH6965 not a prophetH5030 sinceH5750 in IsraelH3478 like unto MosesH4872, whom the LORDH3068 knewH3045 faceH6440 to faceH6440, 11In all the signsH0226 and the wondersH4159, which the LORDH3068 sentH7971 him to doH6213 in the landH0776 of EgyptH4714 to PharaohH6547, and to all his servantsH5650, and to all his landH0776, 12And in all that mightyH2389 handH3027, and in all the greatH1419 terrorH4172 which MosesH4872 shewedH6213 in the sightH5869 of all IsraelH3478.
